Recapping My Style from 2017: The Best of January thru June, in Numbers.

Happy first weekend of 2018!!
Today I am recapping the first 6 months of my favorite styles (that I shared on the blog) from 2017. When recapping these favorite outfits I didn't have a specific number of favorite outfits, in mind. I blogged 234 times in 2017 which is about 2/3rds of the year (if you look at the year divided into 365 days). Give or take I probably blogged about 220 outfits since most of my posts were style posts and the rest were life-style posts, shopping/gift guides, etc. Overall, - since we are talking numbers - these are my favorite 25 looks I shared from January 1st through June 30th on the blog. I will comment on a few of these outfits and do a little mini recap for each month.

To see my top most favorite outfits of 2017, check out the #bestnine post. You shouldn't miss it!

January 2017.
January is a month where I think about remixing my closet a lot, wearing a lot of sweaters and sweater dresses I already own (with booties and boots) and of course trying of stylish ways to 1] layer while keeping warm and 2] incorporate a lot of neutrals without looking boring. Two colors I wore a lot were gray and black. Coincidentally my favorite outfits include 2 looks of gray paired with red - getting ready for Valentine's day in February. Oh and I wore my Faux Leather Black Leggings a lot in January - talk about a remix! They are actually featured in 3 of the 4 favorite outfits from January. In real life posts, my favorite post from January 2017 was "Vivian Turns Four" sharing all about my girl and the beautiful professional photo-shoot we did for her 4th birthday.

"Vivian Turns Four" (Original Post).

Thursday Moda #47: After Christmas and Viv-ing it Up!
Possibly my favorite outfit from all January. Comfortable, slightly edgy, mom-chic and bad-ass while still sweet with that Cherry-Print Sweater. Need to repeat!

Gray Sweater Dress from Day to Evening.
This is the same sweater dress as the one I shared in my Currently, January 2018 post but in that post I showed you the daytime look where this Grey Dress+Faux Leather Black Leggings were paired with my Blue Slouchy Boots and Teal Buffalo Plaid Infinity Scarf. However the evening look featured here is my favorite of the two.

Thursday Moda #46: Ending Dressember with New Year's Eve Dresses.
Loved this modern-day, real-life, super cold snow-day weather look of wearing one of my sleeveless cocktail dresses layered with a tee underneath and a super warm fur coat, complete with a hoodie, gloves, thick leggings and OTK boots to keep warm. I fancied it up with all the pretty layering of the gold metallic jewelry (both in my neck and on my wrists).

February 2017.
This was my favorite stylish month of all Winter and my favorite month of outfits from the January-June period. February was also pretty warm - we had a lot of days in mid 40s to mid 50s which is very warm for Michigan for February - so it was easier to stay stylish. I also wore a lot of shades of red from wine to a true red, coral and pink and I incorporated some hearts in my looks (check out the heart purses) since February is the month of love. I also love the touched of blue I added to my outfits, sort of unexpected for Valentine's day. Here are my most favorite 5 looks from February 2017:
Besides this being one of my favorite outfits, it is also one of my favorite Mommy+Mini posts I did in 2017. It is also my one year Thursday Moda post and this 52nd linkup ended up being one of my most successful linkups ever with close to 150 ladies linking up. This outfit almost made it to my top, top favorite #bestnine looks of 2017. This Beautiful Cranberry Red Swing Dress with the lace detail is by Target - believe it or not - and so are the Black Block-Heel Sandals. You all know I love pairing black with red. I love how well I coordinated with Vivian without being too matchy.

Thursday Moda #51: Red Dresses for Women's Heart Disease.
February is not just the month where we celebrate our partners and significant others. It is important to acknowledge that it is Women's Heart Disease month too and in honor of that, women all over the world wear red dresses. In this collaboration post with my friend Kristin we dressed up for this amazing cause in our beautiful red dresses. I loved the textures of this outfit and once again this Raspberry Red Swing Dress with laceup detail is by Target and so are the Beautiful, Blue, Ghilly, Velvet Sandals.

March 2017.
Favorites from this month include 2 Pretty Casual Dresses that I dressed up and 2 Athleisure-Inspired Casual Looks. With the start of Spring and warm-ish weather I was wearing a lot of Block Heel, Laceup Sandal Booties and Cute Sneakers. I also got out the Moto Jackets, Bombers, Denim Jackets and Sweatshirts. Also, I wore a lot of bright green this month, it was Saint Patrick's day after all, plus green symbolizes Spring. In real life posts I loved my "Spring forward" post filled with beautiful photos from Spring in Michigan and some Spring quotes.

"Spring Forward" Original Post.

The Perfect Spring Dress and Black Moto Jacket.
A Spring uniform for sure but one that I will wear and re-wear again.

Spring-ify a Red Buffalo Shirt-Dress.
Hands down my favorite look from March. It has a lot of trends: buffalo plaid, choker, laceup sandals - yet it is super stylish and a classic. Because a shirt-dress is always classic and put-together.

April 2017.
As the weather warmed up even more, I started wearing my skirts and dresses without tights quite a few times. Also you saw lots of New Floral Pieces I had recently added to my closet. Speaking of floral, I loved how it paired with camouflage (the second outfit). Our Easter 2017 Church Outfits were just beautiful too and we got tons of compliments in real life, too. With Spring coming, I also wore quite a bit of Statement Jewelry. Here are my 4 favorites from April:

Easter Recap.
This was both a favorite Real-Life and a Favorite Outfit Post from 2017. It is also one of my favorite Mommy+Mini Looks featuring our dresses from the Victoria Beckham for Target collection. I loved that we coordinated our Trumpet-Hem Dresses with our Matching Leopard Cardigans. And this is one of my favorite outfits Vivian has worn in 2017, period. That Yellow Dress is stunning on her.

In April, just like in March, I shared more Leggings+Sweatshirts Athleisure Outfits. This particular outfit is my favorite Athleisure, Mom-on-the-Go Look.

May 2017.
This is my birthday month and also Mother's Day month. The airy pieces, short dresses and flirty skirts were back in play, in May. For the 5th year in a row I did my Annual Blog Birthday Party in a two-post special on the blog. In 2017, I shopped my closet and wore dresses I had owned for years, to celebrate my birthday. Those outfits were both cute, but coincidentally none of them made my most favorite looks. Here are another 4 favorites from my birthday month:
The Perfect Cinco de Mayo Outfit.
I agree with the title 100%. Red Sandals, a White Dress embroidered in red and a Red Rossette Mini Purse couldn't have been more perfect for a Hot Cinco de Mayo Look. So girly+pretty!

Lush Floral Navy Dress and Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale.
I love how bright and cheerful this is and it was such a warm and sunny day too. That Yellow-Striped Wallet Clutch looked so cute with my Blue Floral Swing Mini Dress.

June 2017.
In Summer of 2017, I started a "30 for 30" challenge - the third one I have done in the last 4 years. This one was different than the previous one because I didn't include any shoes for one. Also, I decided to spread this challenge throughout all Summer (June thru August) and the idea was to wear these 30 pieces in at least 30 outfits through Summer, while still wearing the rest of ALL of my closet for the other days. In reality, I wore these 30 pieces more than 30 times and since I had such a versatility in the 30 items I chose, I could have easily created 60 looks with these 30 pieces. Unfortunately I only blogged about 29 or 30 of these outfits. Some were never blogged due to time and some I didn't even have time to photograph. Here are my top 5 looks from June, some of which included the "30 for 30" challenge outfits:
Mom Wear to Work Wear: Yellow Floral Peplum Top (Looks 1+2).
I started this challenge with a bang for sure because I ended up loving my very first two outfits from this challenge. To make it smooth for me to remix my pieces, almost all of the items I chose were in shades of Navy, Blush Pink, White and Baby Blue. This Geometric-Patterned Tulip Pencil Skirt from H&M (outfit on the right) has been a workhorse in my closet for a few years now. I also included it in my previous Summer 30 for 30 remix challenge a couple of years back. This skirt could have easily been paired with ANY and ALL the tops I included for my "30 for 30" Summer 2017 Remix.

Thursday Moda #67: French-Inspired Outfits for Day and Night.
I am in love with this Lace Midi LBD and the peekaboo of legs. This amazing outfit almost made it into my top 9 looks of 2017, also. It is sophisticated, beautiful and lady-like. This was the Night-time French-Inspired Outfit, but the daytime one was indeed on my #bestnine from 2017.

I will have a third and final post of "Recapping My Style from 2017" sharing my favorite looks from July thru December. Meanwhile tell me which of these are your favorite 3-4 outfits I wore from January thru June of 2017 and why?!
