Thursday Moda #256: Transitioning into Spring with a Blazer.
Call this the week of the blazers here on the blog. First the Glen Plaid Blazer on my Stylish Monday post and today this Tweed Blazer. What's good about a blazer in a pattern like glen plaid, herringbone or tweed is that they are very neutral, classic, timeless and always chic. Plus, they are great to transition into Spring. And for the small percentage of you who are working in an actual office building now, they make a great business staple.
It is easy to transition into Spring with a blazer, and if it is a classic blazer in a classic print, color or pattern it is even easier, just like my tweed blazer. Plus a blazer like this can go from a totally casual outfit, a business casual outfit like mine or a totally business office look. The rest of your outfit can be colorful, paired with a blazer like this. Though I opted for one big pop of color: mustard yellow. I love the little ruffle trim on this v-neck long sleeve blouse by Loft. My gorgeous tweed blazer is by Loft, also. I paired these pieces on top with straight-leg dark blue jeans and my black leather moto boots by Steve Madden. Added an additional color, pattern and texture via this bronze python or snakeskin bag by The Limited (I have had for quite some time). Though there are several colors and even a couple of patterns in this look, the base colors are dark and neutrals, in my opinion it falls under the monochrome category. I apologize about the wrinkles on the shirt, these photos were indeed taken under rain drops. Before I wrap things up for today, I want to wish my lovely mama a Very Happy Birthday! May she live to be 100!! Vivian and I love her so much!
Last week the linkup was light but I still love and appreciate everyone who links up with me every week, all your comments and support. =) I loved that a couple of these ladies killed it in crisp street-chic outfits with neutral colors, while others opted for a lot of color (brights) for Spring. What I noticed with every single outfit I am featuring this week, is that every look linked by these women, totally defines their style aesthetic. Let's take a look, below.
Californian Cheryl stays true to her Cali-chic style and fresh aesthetic with French vibes in all of the outfits she featured in her '10 Ways to Wear White Jeans' post. While I liked every single outfit, I thought the first look in white+tan is perfection!
Nicole lives in freezing Alaska, but she doesn't let the cold or the snow stop her from looking like 'The Princess in Every Woman' with her lacy pieces she styled for a review. They are all very pretty and sophisticated.
My friend Jen is always classy, timeless, girly and chic, even if she is wearing head to toe denim. In her post she showed some every day 'French Spring Trends'. By the way, she took all of my photos in this post.
Debbie asks the question 'Are You Dressing for Your Personality Style?' I have known Debbie and followed her blog for 6-7 years now, and I can definitely say that bohemian looks, florals and colors are a big part of her style. She definitely showed her personality in this gorgeous look!
Shauna is 'Pastel Perfection' with fun shapes and a stunning designer bag in the prettiest sorbet shades.
Love this blazer with the yellow top! Thanks for hosting!
