The Sunday Showcase, August 2020 - School Drop-off/Pick-up.

A week late (because I forgot lol) but MIREILLE of Chez Mireille Fashion Travel Mom and I are back with our Sunday Showcase - and since this month and next month is all about kids going back to school: virtually, physically, half a day, or whatever their school districts decide - we are wearing casual looks for School Drop-offs or Pick-ups. Speaking of schools, Vivian's school still hasn't given us a final choice/decision. Hopefully we will know this week, this whole thing is exhausting and frustrating. I am prepared for anything! Now as far as the outfits I am blogging today, the casual outfits I am showcasing are what I have worn this week in real life and totally what I will wear next month for school drop-off or pick-up (or for picking up assignments and whatnot). Also this week and next week I am doing a 10 for 10 Remix Style Challenge that I have posted about on my Instagram too. Today I am showing 4 of these remixed pieces, including my Wit+Wisdom Distressed Blue Jeans from Nordstrom, which are styled twice in today's post.

THE  SUNDAY  SHOWCASE,  AUGUST  2020.
I started the week off (this Monday) by wearing this very comfortable cotton jersey v-neck, short-sleeve dress by Gap which I have had for a decade. I had a dentist appointment and a school meeting for Vivian to do that day and it was a little chilly early in the morning. The high was only 75 degrees. Therefore in the beginning I wore my light-wash denim jacket, but later on I tied it around the dress and I love how it looks with my little black dress. Ditto on the matching black Superga sneakers. A casual but put-together look, perfect for an every day mom as she runs errands and spends time with her kid.

SCHOOL  DROP-OFF/PICK-UP  OUTFITS.
The first time I wore these jeans this week, I dressed them up a little bit with a sleeveless blouse (by Loft), it has a small and chic red flower print and Leopard Accessories - the headband and sandals look so good together, the perfect match! I had some pretty blush statement earrings on and a stack of bracelets for pops of color. They are especially fun in the Summer. Just like last week Mireille and I were pretty n'sync with our outfits. She also has on a pretty white blouse with a red floral print and she decided to remix joggers. Mirei like me loves statement earrings and she uses them to dress up her outfits, like these casual school drop-off looks. In her other outfit she wore a bright top - in a yellow mustard - just like I wore a bright coral graphic tee on my second look remixing my distressed jeans. Stop by her blog to see her looks in detail.
These outfits were worn on Tuesday August 4th which was my dad's birthday. He took Vivian and I to dinner downtown Northville - one of our favorite towns. Vivian mixed+matched mommy and her doll (this was her first doll) in that gorgeous baby doll, ruffled runic top.

Last but not least, on Thursday I wore this coral graphic tee by Target that is embroidered with the words "Sunkissed". I love the fit of this tee. I would call it a baby tee. I love the bright color too. It says Summer but it also says Fall - it would be a great transitional piece. This jeans look is more casual than the first one, however I once again wore leopard shoes, I chose these calf-hair leopard ballet flats that are from White House Black Market and I have had for a decade - they are the best! Once again a stack of bracelets - I wore several that matched my tee and I am makeup-free here but my hair was freshly-washed and then took the photos right after.

My Sunday Showcase Favorite Look from last week was Ana's from "Looking Fabulous at Fifty" and she stayed true to the name of her blog because she looked fabulous in her 'Grey Coat, Print Pants, Patent-Shoes', an outfit to wear for chilly mornings and evenings, from casual days to business casual offices. It is a lovely outfit to transition into Fall. Those printed pants are fabulous but Anna kept the look elegantly monochromatic.

  4. I am loving the jeans outfits on you, my friend! We are still waiting to hear the final choices for schooling this year as well. But we still have 4 weeks before school starts so there's a bit of time yet. Like you, I guess I am prepared for anything. But still completely unprepared for everything. Haha.

  8. All very comfy and chic outfits Ada! I love your shirt dress. I have a similar one and it is by far a closet favorite especially during these unbearable temps in August. Regarding school, we chose distant learning. I know my son wouldn't follow social distancing and wear a mask all day. I don't know what to expect but at least we have a decision which I agree was a pain to get to. Btw, I am sorry I forgot to link up. I will for sure this Sunday when it opens again. I hope you and Vivian are safe and well. Happy Wednesday!
