Skirtmas in July Day 10: 8 Ways to Style a Black Eyelet Midi Skirt and #Skirtmas in July Linkup.

It is our second #skirtmasinjuly linkup and we are back at it with not one, not two but 8 looks, today. ELSIE from Polished Whimsy and myself have worked so hard on this series this month. Countless of hours of talking, brainstorming ideas, creating outfits, taking photos, editing pictures, dealing with HTML codes, working on collages, writing posts, etc, etc. In my post today I am featuring two brand-new looks with my Black Eyelet Button-Front Midi Skirt by Target and my Black Eyelet Ruffle Wrap Midi Skirt by Loft. I posted outfits with each of these two skirts for the #skirtmasinjuly series already: the Target Skirt here and the Loft Skirt here, but today I bring you two fresh looks, one with each skirt. But I will do a quick recap of all 4 outfits. Elsie too is featuring 4 looks in her blog post with the same eyelet skirts she also owns. I cannot wait to see her post, meanwhile I love the polished yet a bit of casual outfit she created with the button-front skirt and chambray blouse tucked in it. Those two tone Leopard+Black Pumps are gorgeous and I love that she pattern-mixed with a Striped Crossbody Bag. Last, I love that she chose a Bright Red Lipstick. So put-together, sophisticated, modern and office-chic!

For the 10th day of Skirtmas in July we are styling Black Eyelet Midi Skirts and showing you 8 fresh, different outfits with them so welcome by both of our blogs to see how we styled our Lovely Summer Eyelet Skirts. An Eyelet Skirt is a Summer Must-Have. I also own a Bright Yellow One and one in a Pastel Peach which I wore this month too and will blog soon. Meanwhile, so far here is what you have seen styled in this series:  Day 1 - Ruffle Wrap Midi Skirts; Day 2 - Faux Suede Mini Wrap Skirts; Day 3 - Identical Button-Front Striped Midi Skirt with Pockets (by Who What Wear); Day 4 - Identical Black Eyelet Button-Front Midi Skirts (by Mossimo from Target); Day 5 - Mini Skirts for the weekend where I did a Super Casual Friday Look and a dressier Sunday Brunch, Shower or Night-Out Look; Day 6 - Denim Mini Skirts for the Weekend ; Day 7 (which was also our Tuesday Skirt Linkup day) - the Crane Midi Skirt for Sunday Best; Day 8 - Colorful Pencil Skirts and Day 9 - Colorful Pleated Midi Skirts.

HOW  TO  CASUALLY  STYLE  A   BLACK   EYELET  MIDI  SKIRT  FOR  SUMMER.
The last time I wore each of these skirts I dressed them up. For the Button-Front Target Skirt I chose an Edgy, Modern, Street-Style Look going with black monochrome head to toe and choosing more texture so Perforated Peep Toe Booties it was. I also did a pop of color via the Plum Crossbody Bag I carried. For the Ruffled Wrap Loft Skirt I tucked in a Baby Pink "Ciao" Girly Graphic Tee with my Nude Faux Suede Peep-Toe Laceup Stilettos and I carried a Mini Grey Crossbody Bag to which I tied a little Baby Blue Patterned Silk Scarf. I kept the jewelry pretty simple each time but since it was sunny and bright, I wore fun sunglasses. This time around I wanted two cool, fresh, casual, mom-on-the-go looks. I have always thought eyelet pairs really well with other similar Summer textures and materials like crochet and embroidery. So, I styled each skirt with a Gauzy Blouse that I tucked into the skirts. The Pastel Peach Elbow-Sleeve Blouse has this gorgeous flower-patterned crochet around the front over the chest and it is by Old Navy, the top is a light linen-blend. While the White, Flutter-Sleeve Blouse with the Fun Blue+Red Embroidery is by Loft and I love that it ties in the front with the little tassel laces. Both blouses I wore with these skirts are perfect to wear with eyelet. Eyelet, Linen, Crochet and Embroidery all say Summer to me. These outfits may be casual but they are totally put-together. Mom Babe type of outfits if I must say, don't you think?!

THE  LOFT  EYELET  RUFFLED  WRAP  SKIRT.

This skirt is so pretty and feminine. The eyelet is more classic, think a floral-type of eyelet. The ruffled wrap style makes it girly, fun and also classy. It is easy to dress up or down or even in between. I am wearing a size 4 which is my usual size with Loft skirts. Originally, for my second post with this skirt, I wanted to do another Graphic Tee with Patterned Sneakers and use that same scarf from my bag (from the first outfit) tied neatly and knotted around my neck. But then Elsie showed me her outfit photos and she beat me to it, she styled it very similarly lol. So, I got out this gorgeous gauzy embroidered top (last year from Loft) and put it next to the skirt and had a light-bulb moment. It worked and looked so cute. Bringing out both the blue and the red embroidery of the skirt, I chose a Navy Blue Skinny Bow Headband and the New Faux Suede Ruffled Cross-Strap Slides by Target. I wore this outfit last Friday when I was off and running errands with Vivian. One of those errands - going to Target lol. Vivian says Target is my favorite store (which she is right lol) and wanted to take me some photos by Target. But we had to rush because it was chilly and drizzling rain outside. We have had a cold front here for a few days this past weekend. Do you like how I styled the Loft Skirt?! Would you have chosen a different top or sandals with it?!

THE  TARGET  EYELET  BUTTON-FRONT  SKIRT.

This is such a versatile skirt. The button-front style is carefree, modern and classic if you ask me. I love that the eyelet pattern here is more geometric. The waist is elastic and I picked up my regular size which is a Small but an XS would have been better I think. The first time around I styled this skirt entirely different. I dressed it up with its Matching Cropped Tank and edgied it up with my Peep-Toe Booties. I loved that outfit so much and it is one of my most favorite recent looks. This second look was from this Sunday where we took a walk in to our neighborhood and visited the horse farm. Vivian quickly snapped a couple of photos by the farm before we were told that we had to ask for permission next time, but the lady was nice about it lol. Since it was a very casual and somewhat cool Sunday afternoon, I decided to go for a little Linen Blouse with a casual feel (especially if you tuck it in). I love how great eyelet and crochet look together. But I completely surprised you all with my choice of shoes. Toughened it up a bit and chose Classic but Trendy Python-Print Gray Leather Mules by Banana Republic. Unexpected hmm?! Just like the outfit with the Loft Skirt besides some Fun Colorful Bracelets, I kept my makeup simple and wore Stud Earrings both times. And that Crochet Neutral Bag certainly goes with everything. How versatile. It perfectly remixed in the two outfits above! How do you like this second look?! Do you like the mules with it?!
