Flashback Friday: Orange and Black.

As far as I know I do not own a lot of Orange. Though, now that I am typing this I am dressed very comfortably and wearing some Orange. You will see today's outfit sometime next week. Today I wanted to do a Flashback Friday type of post (I used to do these every now and then on Fridays, but haven't done them much in over a year). Since it is the Friday before Halloween, I am focusing on Orange and Black today (in my looks). These are all from my archives. Most outfits are older than a year so as I look back, I will write a little about each outfit, what I think of that particular outfit, today, as in October 29th 2015. Let's take a look down memory lane together, shall we?

Even-though this outfit is 3.5 years old, I remember it very well. I have a photographic memory in general so I do remember most of my outfits, but some in my particularly I remember very well, including the little details. This is one of them. I love this outfit head to toe, maybe because I love this Bright Orange Cowl-Neck Sweater Dress. I paired it with Black Tights and you cannot tell but my Oxford Wedges are in a Chocolate Brown. I also added a very Tailored Tan Blazer (it is part of a Skirt Suit I own). And I am in heaven among all these books, because the photos were taken at my old job. I love books and magazines so this is perfect. Clearly, I have a lot to say about this Outfit. It is one of my top 3 favorites in this flashback post.

This was me at almost 9 months pregnant on December 2012, in one of the last outfits I wore to work. I am faking a Black Suit with my Blazer and Leggings plus I matched my Burnt Orange Maternity Tee to my Burnt Orange Boot Socks. If I ever was pregnant again, I would repeat this look for a cold day - it is cozy and cute.

Well, this was technically one of the Holiday Outfits from last year but I think the (mostly) all black look with the pop of orange from my Fun Graphic Clutch works out well for Halloween, too. I am faking OTK Boots too - I actually have on Black Booties and Over-the-Knee Socks.

OK, so there is more than Orange and Black in this outfit, but the first thing you see is that Stunning Vibrant Orange Plaid Blanket Scarf and my Black Pants also make up half of my Outfit. I absolutely love this look from last Fall (which I wore to work) and I would repeat it without a second thought.

Another pregnancy look worn to work, while I was 7 and a half months pregnant. This Wrap Dress was perfect to wear while pregnant. It is one of the 2 Orange Dresses I own and I paired it with some Black, Brown and Beige/Khaki. It was another very comfortable look but I looked put-together with my Dressy Camisole, Fun Headband and Statement Necklace.

I have no idea what happened to this Dress. Another Work Look from the last job I had before having Vivian. This office-appropriate Sheath nicely color-blocks Black with Burnt Orange and you cannot tell but I was pregnant here, in my first trimester. The only thing I would change is wear some Patent Leather Black or  Patent Leather Burgundy Pumps, instead of my Burgundy Patent Leather Loafers.

Now, I am sure most of you remember this outfit. I actually wore it last year in late October, for a Dinner Date and Cocktails with my husband. I have on my Favorite Black+White Sweater which I paired with my Favorite Orange Sweater and I am carrying this Beautiful Magazine Cover Clutch, once again. It is one of my Most Favorite Looks, ever.

First of all ignore the background. I used to be a Marketing Manager for the largest bookstore chain in Albania. At the time, I took most of my pictures sneaking into the office. But that day there were people in and out of our offices so I opted for this storage room and called this 'an industrial shot". Anyway, here is my Favorite Orange Dress again. The Black is subtle here: on the dots of my Cardigan. I also added two other Fall Colors: Taupe Belt and Olive Wedge Booties.

Speaking of Flashback to Halloween, here is my sweet girl Vivian celebrating her very first Halloween. She was about 9 months old. She was Minnie Mousse. And it looks like with her costume she got two things covered for October: Halloween and Pink (for the month of breast cancer).

  3. You know, I don't think I own anything in my closet that is orange. How odd. I should probably go and buy something orange now! I love the outfit with the blanket scarf!

  4. I don't own a lot of orange, but it looks great on you. The scarf is a fun way to add some color for those of us who are fearful. ;)

  5. I'm biased--I like the first pic best with all the books! I'm a librarian though, so that would explain it!!

I've been thinking of doing a similar post since I have felt like I've been in a rut. Maybe I should choose some favorite outfits from last fall....

Thank you for linking up to the Kremb de la Kremb Style Story Link Up.

  7. Orange is definitely a color I do not have much of in my closet. You've done a great job of wearing orange and black together without looking Halloween-y :)
