Brick and Burberry.
OK, so the title of today's post refers to the two most visible items I am wearing today: my Blazer (Brick) and my Plaid Blanket Scarf (Burberry). These items also happen to be Brand-New and Gifted to me (Lucky me - I know).
Now I don't own the Infamous Blanket Scarf that almost every single blogger has. It is pretty yes, but I don't have it. However, when I was gifted this Gorgeous Orange Plaid Burberry Scarf from a cousin I was in Fashion Heaven. I am not sure if it is the real thing or not, but it is a soft wool-blend material, in a bright happy orange, warm+cozy and I love it, whether it is real or faux Burberry. On the other hand, my brother purchased this Blazer for me as a gift, since I started a new, full-time job. He also purchased a couple of other pieces for me and I must say he has great taste. This Brick/Rust Blazer with the Black Faux Leather Lapel is a Statement Piece for sure. And the Brick Color compliments the Bright Orange quite well, I think. I kept the rest of the Outfit simple, with a Mellow Yellow Tee underneath, my Cropped Black Dressy Pants & Brown Wedge Oxfords. What do you think? Have you jumped on the Blanket Scarf Bandwagon yet?
Rust/Brick Open-front Blazer w/ Black Faux Leather Lapel: H&M (Gifted from my Brother) (New) (similar, love this), (gorgeous mocha, velvet option, the Schoolboy style by J.Crew), (very similar in Gray Tweed & Faux Black Leather by Target, best deal, love this).
Orange, Cream & Black Plaid, Blanket Scarf: Burberry (Gifted; New) (very similar by Burberry, Splurge), (gorgeous option by Nordstrom, great deal), (warm+cozy option by Michael Stars, love this), (similar by Chic Nova, best deal, love this).
Mellow Yellow, Short-Sleeve, Scoop-neck, Cotton Tee w/ Little Puffy Sleeves: The Limited (similar V-neck), (similar graphic tee by Reebok, love this), (similar w/ ruching).
Black, Dressy, Cropped Pants w/ Buckle Tab on the waist: The Limited (very similar by Tahari, best deal, love these), (similar by Gap, on sale, love these), (gorgeous option by Theory, splurge).
Red+Silver, Wreath, Stud Earrings: A Local Boutique (very similar by Kate Spade, love these), (similar by Ralph Lauren, great deal, love these), (similar, best deal, love these).
Brown, Patent Leather & Faux Suede, Oxford Shoes: Simple Shoes (very similar by Nine West, love these), (similar by Naturalizer, best deal), (fun option by Max Studio, on sale, love these).
Vivian's Outfit:
Baby Pink, Velvet, Sleeveless Dress w/ Ruffled Hem: Gifted.
Pink, Long-Sleeve, Cotton, Mock-neck Tee: A Local Children's Boutique.
White Knit Tights w/ Pink+Gray Argyle Print: Wal Mart.
Navy Patent Leather Booties: A Children's Shoe Boutique.
Of course this Outfit is perfect to link up with Andi + Danielle for Blazer Week; Erin + Laura for Trend Spin which today's theme is Plaid, Stripes and Checks; and last but not least Jessica + co. for Maid for Plaid.
There will be more Blazers (and perhaps more Plaid also), more Scarves and more Pantone this week, by me. Stay tuned and as always Thank You for reading!
Fab scarf and how cute is your little girl #allaboutyou
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the last person to have a blanket scarf! I keep looking at them but never pulling the trigger. I love the vibrant orange color of your scarf! It looks great with your blazer!

Such a nice lapel on your blazer and I love the bright, beautiful colors of your scarf! I don't have the Zara scarf, either, so you aren't the only one. :) Absolutely Love your oxfords! You look terrific and so professional, Ada!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet brother you have...and with good taste. Lucky girl! And that scarf is gorgeous...I'm going to go ahead thinking that it's real Burberry :) I have jumped on the blanket scarf train and I'm not ashamed. I don't buy into all trends but this is one that I actually love. That scarf has already gotten me through some rough Mondays :)
