August 2014 Reflections and Top 3 Looks.
Happy Sunday you all. How was your weekend?! I figured, since November is coming to its middle (November 10th tomorrow - gasp!!), I might as well show you my Favorite Looks from August and the Style+Lifestyle Reflections from that month. Better late than never. I'll tell you, I have had such a busy week and this second week of work is about to get a lot busier. So bear with me, shall you?! =) And keep wishing me lots of luck - Thanks!!
I posted 23 times in August which means give or take, I took a whole week off (adding up all the days I didn't post). But, I still managed to show you a total of 34 Outfits which is a lot. In the 23 posts I wrote, 3 of them did not show OOTDs. I hadn't done it in a while but I finally did a Summer 6 Remix where I took 6 items and mixed them into 7 (instead of 6) Outfits. I even did a theme which was Nautical. In a couple of posts I showed you three Outfits in each, like here, where I did a "Take One, Pass It On" type of post, remixing a Soft Yellow Tee and my B+W Ikat Shorts. There were also 3 two-fer posts. For the "Mom Wear to Work Wear" post I showed you a Geometric Print, B+W, Silk Sheath and on another two-fer post I wore 2 Dressy Versions of my Black Shorts, one more suitable for the day and the other for the evening. They ended up being my Most Favorite Outfits featuring Shorts, for the whole month of August. Speaking of Shorts, a lot of Shorts as well as other clothing I wore were Floral Prints which I always think is the ultimate Pattern on the Summer. And Vivian did too - she was adorable in all her Florals, more than once. I also wore quite a bit of Ethnic Prints like Ikat and some Watercolor pieces as well. Shorts and Dresses were the items most worn (obviously since July and August were two hot months) and Sandals were the Shoe of Choice. Also, a couple of Rompers and a Jumper made their way into my outfits. Colors were all over the place, all over the rainbow I should say lol, but I noticed Yellow and Navy popping up quite a bit.
Lifestyle-wise you saw a sneak peek of our Summer via these Vacation Photos, where my Sweet Vivian debuted a shorter new hairdo and bangs and rocked a Neon Striped One-piece Swimsuit among others. And here are more photos from our Summer adventures. Vivian was a big part of August showing off a lot of her Cute Summer Dresses and other Fun Summer Clothes. In at least 3 "Mommy and Baby" Style Posts I looked back at other Style posts of Vivian and I from the previous Summer, exactly a year ago when I styled/wore some of the same pieces like for The Royal 19th which was a Special Vivian post and where my mini me matched Mommy while wearing (again) Floral.
Below are my Top 3 Looks from August 2014 and my two cents on why they were my favorites. The other 6 Outfits I liked, are listed in no particular order. Enjoy!

This Jumpsuit made its second appearance on the blog and the second time around was also worn on a date with my husband, albeit I styled it completely different than the first time. The Pyramid Necklace, Pyramid Bracelet and Pyramid Gold Studs on the Lucite Clutch were Fun Details that tied in together beautifully. I love that I pulled the hair in a low chignon, on the back.
This was the Evening Outfit I styled/wore featuring my Black Shorts. I mentioned above that I loved both Outfits I created for that two-fer Post, but I preferred this one slightly more. The Silky Cami I am wearing is beautiful, envelops my curves and as I have been told by many before, Purple is a color that looks great on me. Last but not least, you can't go wrong with Classic Patent Leather Black Pumps and some Statement Earrings, no?
Maybe this was not the most creative outfit, but I loved the Chic, Easy, Simple and Clean Look that the Sleeveless White Lace Dress paired with the Denim Vest (mine is in the perfect medium wash) created. A little Monochromatic Chain+Sea-pearl Necklace, Bronze Gladiator Sandals and a Leopard Bow Headband finished off this Look, for me.
While this Outfit isn't awful and I did manage to stay pretty Monochrome with all the Navy and matched my Red Striped Wedges to the Red Stripes of the Tee, I still feel that layering a T-Shirt over my Navy Romper didn't look as good as I pictured it. Maybe if the T-Shirt was shorter or cropped. Oh well I tried. I did like all the other 6 Outfits I created during my "Nautical 6 Remix" post.
I want to finish off by showing you some of my Favorite Photos from August (non-fashion related, of course). These 3 pictures (below) are my most favorite 3 from our first little beach getaway.
P.S. Linking up with Carylee, Elena, Kristin, Jen, Laura, Lauren, Leeann, Molly, Patti, Rachel, Rachelle, Rhea, Vicki, Whitney and Zaz.
