Nautical Military.

I have enjoyed wearing Dresses so much these last few days. As the Ultimate Lover of Dresses and someone who owns A TON of them, creating Outfits with them and going bare-legged has been great. But since Tuesday May 13th (when this Outfit was worn), the weather changed upside-down, bare legs and Spring Dresses no more. The temperatures dropped from 75 to 55 and with the wind-chill it has felt about 45. We are back to wearing Coats and Boots so unfortunately some of my Outfits next week will not be very Springy.

There is something so Chic, Classic and Easy-Elegance about both a Black Dress and Black+White Stripes. I always connect Black+White or Navy+White Stripes as well as Red+White Stripes to both France and the US. The French wear their B+W Stripes to perfection. And the Americans connect their B+W Stripes to both the Flag giving a Patriotic Feel (especially if they are Red+White or Navy+White) or Nautical, giving that Classy Americana Vibe. And a LBD is the easiest Dress a Woman can and should wear. Fortunately my LBD today also has Classic, Nautical, B+W Stripes on the top part. I love the easy, light Jersey and the blouson feel of the Dress. I added a Little Trendy, Modern Military Jacket (by a favorite store of mine WHBM. Here is this year's version of my Black Military Blazer, almost identical to mine.) The only other time this dress was worn on the blog in a simple Summer Outfit with Flip Flops. This time I added some touches of Green. It was the perfect Dress to wear as a wrap-up for the Nautical-themed week with Andi and Laura.
This week my Outfits have been all about Blue, Green and Dresses. (Well, Stripes too - check the Collage below of the 3 Different Outfits).
Black+White, Stripped, Cotton Dress w/ Chiffon Roses attached on the Front: The Limited. (very similar, cheap + super cute), (similar 1), (similar 2).
Black, Cotton Blazer w/ Mandarin Collar & Military-Style, Silver Buttons: White House Black Market.(very similar from WHBM), (cheap + adorable), (loving this).
Green+Black, Ladybug Stud Earrings: c/o A Local Accessories Boutique (New).
Green, Metallic, Small Hair Claw: Random Street Vendor.
Black+White, Geometric-Print, Silky Clutch w/ Black Patent Leather Trim: The Limited. (similar + very cheap), (similar in houndstooth), (striped, evening option), (geometric-print, evening option).
Bright, Kelly Green, Leather, Ballet Pointy Flats w/ Skinny Bows: Gap. (very similar), (similar round-toe option), (absolutely loving these).

Below is a Collage how I have worn my Black+White Nautical Stripes lately. The Blazer Outfit was chosen as a Favorite Look at What Wives Wear Link Up while the Skirt Outfit was chosen as a Favorite Look at Tres Chic Link Up. Thank You so Much Ladies for featuring My Looks as your Favorites. =)
P.S. Also linking up with Anna, Allison, Caitlin, Lauren, Lena, Rebecca, Tiffany and Whitney.
Have a Fabulous Weekend Ladies!!

  8. I LOVE all of your striped outfits, Ada! You definitely deserved to be featured on those other blogs! It's so funny how even though we're thousands of miles apart I've been dealing with the same dressing issues! Chicago got HOT last week so I was prancing around in dresses and flip flops- and then the temperature plummeted back down to the 40s! Jackets, scarves, and boots all over again! Hopefully dress season will come back to us both soon!
