The Sunday Showcase, July 2022: Mommy and Me 4th of July Looks with Old Navy, Part Two.

Happy 4th of July!! Happy Independence Day America!! I will be honest with you all: this year I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE CELEBRATING THE 4th. Not at all. There is so much chaos, trouble, sickness (mental and physical), hate, division, inflation, extremely high prices and overall awful things going on with our country right now. The shootings alone - an everyday safety issue our country is facing, currently. And the whole Wade vs. Roe Supreme Court overruling - let me not get started on that. It’s a bittersweet Independence Day to say the least.

Us poor women lost a very important right lately and honestly freedom and democracy have fallen short in America in the last couple of years. It’s so hard being a woman and a mom. Even more so not only because of the abortion rights which were taken away from us, but because the word "WOMAN" is reduced to nothing these days. Some people cannot even define what a woman is, because they want to be politically correct. They have a problem with the words: woman, mom. We are reduced to "birthing people". I hope one day this country will come to their senses and go forward not backwards. I hope and pray that one day when they grow up, my daughters truly get to live and experience freedom, liberty, independence, democracy and what is righteous and constitutional. Reproduction rights shouldn’t be up to debate and certainly it shouldn’t be left in the hands of very rich old men to decide a woman’s fate or make decisions about her body. Also politics, justice and the constitution should never be mingled with religion or the bible - it is not fair. Being pro-choice means being pro life. Make it right America!! None of these things in the middle of a crazy pandemic and insanely high gas and grocery prices, don't give me much reason to celebrate, though we still spent a lot of money on fireworks mostly because Vivian loves them. And MIREILLE and I will continue with our scheduled Sunday Showcase linkup which for this month of July it's all about Red, White and Blue and 4th of July inspired dresses.

MOMMY  AND  ME  4TH  OF  JULY  LOOKS  WITH  OLD  NAVY:  BLUE  AND  WHITE  GINGHAM.
On my last Thursday Moda post I shared some matching mommy+me looks with my daughters. The red embroidered outfits were by Old Navy. Today I am back again with more cute matching outfits for me and my girls and yes Old Navy does it again! Vivian, Gisele and myself are all matching in blue+white gingham dresses that to me - blue gingham - symbolized both Summer and Independence Day. Mine is a short dress with a ruched bust and fluttery ruffled sleeves. Vivian's is a tiered midi dress with a ruched bust and fluttery straps on her sleeves while Gisele is wearing a babydoll style ruched top with fluttery ruffled sleeves and matching bloomers. I must say the baby's outfit is my favorite. But I love that all of our outfits feature some of the same details besides the identical blue gingham print: the ruching on the bust and the ruffles on the sleeves. Vivian and Gisele wore their identical matching bows - red with white polka dots. While I wore a cute red bow scrunchie in a swirly white print. Vivian and I both paired our dresses with cute cognac sandals, but my favorite shoes are Gisele's dark denim Mary Janes with the adorable bows. Do you own a gingham dress for the Summer?! What patriotic outfit did you put together this 4th of July weekend/day?! Did you celebrate 4th of July this year, how?!

Mireille's hi-lo tie dye red+white maxi dress is so pretty and floaty. Looks very comfortable. Love that she dressed it up a bit. Such cute sandals too. Check out the details of her outfit, here.
I will forever hold their hands and their hearts.
