Thursday Moda #249: Coral and Lilac for Valentine's Day.
Happy Hump Day! I am glad to inform that all the snow you see on these photos is almost all melted because our high was 54 degrees today which is nice. Today I am sharing what I wore for Valentine's Day, which to be honest was a beautiful day in the 30s with lots of sunshine, my coat felt too heavy and warm for the little time I had it on. I normally opt for red - my favorite, of course - pink or blush pink, for Valentine's Day. This year however I did lilac (my cropped jeans by Express) and coral (my silky blouse by Target and the corduroy blazer by Who What Wear) and I DEFINITELY think that Pink and Lilac are for sure great colors for Valentine's Day. But wait my teddy coat (by Loft) and my colorblocked pink+coral scarf (also by Loft) had pink in them and I chose some red accessories and a red lipstick too.
CORAL AND LILAC FOR VALENTINE'S DAY.
Coral and Lilac is not really a color combination I have worn much of, before. But I put together this outfit for Valentine's Day and it turned out so good! I am in head to toe pastels from my faux suede sneaker wedge booties, the cropped lilac jeans by Express and the double layers of corals on top. My silky blouse is one of my favorites I own. I have had it for a couple of years, it's a great find from Target. The corduroy tailored blazer on top of the blouse, is a shade or two lighter than the blouse but it goes well, creating a monochromatic effect. This corduroy blazer is from Who What Wear - my favorite line/brand from Target, the line has clothing that is so modern, polished and office-chic. These pieces paired so well together. I cannot wait to style this coral corduroy blazer for Spring over a white dress with some cute flats. Like I mentioned, I added pops of red to my outfit with my red sparkly cuff bracelet and matching red heart statement earrings, plus a bold dark red lipstick by Nars. I created a smokey eye with corals, gold and taupe using the Naked Heat Palette. And my sunglasses are the "After Hours" by Quay - linked on the widget below. These glasses are gorgeous and make a statement. For the first time ever I pulled the trigger last Fall and bought my first two pairs of Quay sunglasses. This Australian brand offers great pairs for reasonable prices, in an excellent quality, complete with a glass case and a little cloth cleaner. Little Vivian is rocking her own pastels, I adore her millennial pink H&M pink coat so much. Her cream beanie with the rose gold+gold sequined heart was perfect for Valentine's Day, too.
Thank you for everyone who loved my poem, last week. It is something I wrote ad posted right then and there. My favorites this week include various shades of the color blue and purple, 2 cozy neutral sweaters which I love - a must for Winter, 2 bohemian outfits and 1 birthday girl!
Fashion Designer Nora is making me crave Spring even more, with that gorgeous over-sized purple sweater paired with black and a grey leopard scarf. Her 'Pop of Color Can Liven Up a Look' for sure!
'Feeling the Fringe' with Californian Shauna. That fringe cardigan with the big bell bottom jeans has beautiful 70s written all over it - a fashion decade we have gotten many trends from.
My friend Jennifer celebrated her birthday this week (she doesn't look a day older than 25 by the way) and as usual she is rocking neutrals. 'The Timeless Sweater' paired with classic white jeans and retro-inspired cream pumps look cozy and elegant together and match the beige sidewalk with the white snow.
My friend Mireille is so organized when it comes to her daily outfits. In her latest post she showed several of her 'Create 28 Challenge Outfits' and her slouchy sweater over a midi look makes me want to re-create it, plus we all know I love a good floppy hat.
Jill is looking like a tall drink of water in this unique shacket. She shared her 'Winter Stitch Fix' items in a thorough review and I fell in love with this outfit she created with that blue plaid statement jacket.

ReplyDeletePretty color on you, Ada! Glad the snow is gone.
ReplyDeleteYour look is like sunshine on a wintry day. Like a bit of beach or Florida to melt the snow. I love that coral color. One of my favorite shades. Would not have thought of pairing it with that lilac but it works so well. That boho Love Story blouse you shared from Revolve is stunning. Might have to add that to my closet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feature Ada. Love being part of the lineup. I will try to post it up on my insta tomorrow. This end of the week is crazy! My mouth was numb for 5 hours today but I am so excited about my new stuff from Soma. Hope your spring doesn't come too late this year. Love the color combo here.

Ada, I really like these colors together. And you and Vivian look so lovely in the snow! Our snow is starting to melt here, but there is still a few feet accumulated on the ground so it's going to take some time to melt.
