Thursday Moda #225: Asymmetric Neon Stripes in Sunny Detroit.

Welcome Back to Thursday Moda after a 3-week break due to my long Florida Vacation which was much needed, by the way. I decided to take it easy and not blog (except once, when I co-hosted Thursday's Fashion Files a couple of weeks ago). I chose to join my friends Jill and Carrie with a Gorgeous Burgundy+Orange Asymmetric, One-Sleeve Floral Dress which you all loved. And today I come back to Thursday Moda with a bang and I got another asymmetrical piece, except this one is a lot more everyday ready-wear, easy, super chic, modern and street-style ready!

ASYMMETRIC  NEON  STRIPES.
I have been meaning to blog this outfit for quite some time now. I got the most beautiful, super elegant asymmetric neon stripes on, courtesy of Banana Republic. I really lucked out finding this stunning little sundress shirt-style dress on a clearance rack at my local Banana Republic. It is made of a sturdy linen-blend cotton thick enough not to show anything, though with anything white, cream or ecru I always recommend nude undergarments. There is something so polished and sophisticated, plus modern and cool about this dress with the asymmetric buttons going across the front. I loved these neon greenish-yellow stripes so much that later on I ordered the high-waisted shorts and sleek tank top in the same exact material/pattern. This particular dress is modern yet the neon stripes are striking, it doesn't need much jewelry-wise. You can see several similar striped dresses, linked up on the widget towards the bottom of this post. =) I paired this Little White Dress with my classic Chanel stud earrings, a simple circle rose gold zirconia pendant necklace and a druzy rose cuff bracelet - all matched so well with my rose gold soft leather sandals I have been wearing all Summer (Thank You Target!!) A pop of red came via my lips and that bold asymmetric red glass ring. What do you think?!

SUNNY  DETROIT.
I live in the suburbs of Detroit, a city a lot of you probably don't know or which sometimes has gotten and continues to get such a bad rap. But Detroit has seen so much growth over the last 5 years. Today I am happy to share a little bit of beautiful Detroit with you and its iconic Renaissance Center, the Detroit Princess Boat which you can take for a stroll to see the city as well as have an elegant dinner date on, as well as the Detroit River which borders Canada - they made the perfect background to my darling little outfit, too. So you get to see Sunny Detroit on a beautiful sunny Saturday. It was the perfect Summer Saturday for a date down-town. I felt sorry and sad to see the majority of businesses closed though, since Michigan was just on phase 2 or 3 of re-opening then, due to Covid. But Detroit is very strong and resilient and so are its people so I am sure it will come back! This reminds me, I need to make a trip to the city soon. Actually I want to spend a day downtown Detroit once each season, this year, complete with photos and a great lunch or dinner down-town one of the many great restaurants to eat in the D!

My favorites today were chosen from 3 weeks ago when I had my last Thursday Moda Linkup. Thank you all for your fashions and for inspiring me each week you link up!! I noticed most of these ladies are transitioning into Fall. Lots of lovely wild leopard, classic, perfectly-polished black+white, stunning black sandals (I want them all!!), pretty statement sleeves, dressed-up denim and a huge color splash via a bubblegum pink dress which I loved! Both dresses I featured come from H&M and they were a steal! A lot of these fashionistas get featured often on my blog and I am not shocked!

My friend Darlene eased into Fall with '#Nsale Fashion Finds Past and Present' and I love that great denim and a must-have leopard cardigan are always included on this sale.
Always styling in California, Cheryl beautifully showed 'What to Wear with a Tiered Dress' and not just any tiered dress - a must have leopard one!
In a 'Pink Puff-Sleeved Cotton Dress', Cristine showed that she is a very stylish French girl who doesn't get scared from very bright colors and super bold styles.
Tatiana's maxi skirt is a 'Worthy Alternative' to snow leopard as that's how it looks upon first glance. And those black heeled sandals - fabulousity!
Nora started designing loungewear and the post she linked featured several stylish pieces that can be dressed up or down, featuring lots of 'Animal Prints' like those bottoms which can totally work as palazzo pants for the office.
Always poised for the office, my DC friend Amber is killer in a 'A Puffed Sleeve Top + Wide Leg Pants'. This fabulous outfit reminds me of the white pencil skirt+black tank look she wore when we collaborated together a couple of years ago, featuring office looks.
