Thursday Moda #223: The Prettiest Pleated Periwinkle Blouse.
I am posting real late this Thursday for my Thursday Moda and I apologize about that, but I had to work today and spent the rest of the day doing a lot of cleaning. Speaking of work, don't you miss cute, put-together, sophisticated work looks like the one I am sharing today?! It is the perfect outfit to take you from the office to a date night. And I wore it exactly a week ago, on a romantic little Italian date (complete with dessert and the best Limoncello Martinis).
THE PRETTIEST PERIWINKLE BLOUSE.
For my date I wore the Prettiest Pleated Periwinkle Blouse. Try to say that fast, 3 times in a row!! And I will focus on this blouse exactly. Because it truly is the star of the outfit. I paired it with my skinny navy ankle pants (both pieces are by Loft). I definitely think navy and periwinkle, lilacs or any shades of lighter blue from cobalt blue to sky blue look great together. I also think orange (like my gorgeous suede sandals by Macy's) and navy look fantastic together. But - if I am not mistaken - this is the first time I ever paired periwinkle together with a fun, bright shade of orange, but I absolutely love how it came together! Since this blouse makes a statement and even has tassels on the sides of each of the neck's laces (which you can tie together into a cute bow), I kept the jewelry super simple with bronze-colored circle mini stud earrings by Loft and a silver ring-charm necklace by Francesca's. The outfit was sophisticated and smart, girly and sexy in a very elegant covered-up way. The dinner was delicious (my veal piccata was so tender and flavorful, I took most of it as leftovers for the next day), the drinks were refreshing and definitely strong and the dessert - my favorite part! Also the atmosphere was beautiful, artistic and full of color! And we had great service! All in all, a great day!
Thank you to everyone who joined my linkup last week as we got together for a special cause that is very close to my heart, and styled blue dresses. You all loved the photos and my blue maxi - thank you! Also my co-host last week (Elizabeth) will co-host Thursday Moda again with me the last Thursday of August. I found so many of the outfits linked as favorites. I am even featuring in particular one blogger this week. You will see some things in common among the featured fashionistas: bright sunny yellow, solid jumpsuits, many pretty shoes, gorgeous dresses, neutral-colored crochet - a must for Summer, a gorgeous classic white blazer and even 2 Californian babes perhaps posing by the same tree featuring bright+bold fuchsia flowers?!
This week's featured blogger is the lovely DI from DI-alog and she is no stranger to this feature, as over a year ago she was the blogger I spotlighted here. Di has the best, most sophisticated office style mixing prints, colors and many beautiful neutrals and soft pastels, just like she did in the post she linked too. She styled a 'White Blazer with Difficult to Style Pieces' and the outfits above were the 2 I loved the most out of all the 3 outfits she wore while styling this beautiful, classic closet staple like a white blazer. I used to own a couple of white blazers but none of them fit right so I got rid of them. However I found the perfect one that is longer in length like Di's and fits me perfectly, plus I got it for about 85% OFF at Loft. I think Di would approve of it, like she would approve of the office-chic outfit I am wearing in today's post. Her blush pink jumpsuit is trendy yet classy and I love how she mixed prints which both feature sky blue in her skirt outfit. Both of her bags and heeled sandals are just gorgeous. And those blue flowers on the side table definitely add to Di's outfits. Di always does an excellent job choosing the accessories and jewelry for her outfits and she takes the best, most elegant indoor photos usually with one of those sleek side tables adorned with a vase, or flowers. It is a signature spot for her.
Joining my linkup again after a very long time we have Lisa wearing this comfy athleisure jumpsuit not in one but two colors! She proves that 'Sleeveless Jumpsuits - Rompers' are a closet staple for Summer and not even her hand cast takes away from her style (plus it is black just like her jumpsuit).
I have been loving mix+match two piece swimsuits lately. Amazon has many options and Bojana's yellow one looks amazing on her. She is definitely 'Bright Fun in the Sun'!
Who always has the most colorful dresses and photos?! Katie of course! That 'Palm Springs' Dress' is made for her! Loving those colorful shoes too - tassels on both her footwear and her bag.
'All Beige, Baby' but never ever boring, my friend Ashley shines in those wide-legged cropped Zara pants with the matching crochet tee tucked inside them. Love that she chose a black bra and black stilettos with this.
As I was cleaning my closet the other day, I found my long-sleeve blouse by Old Navy in the same identical floral print as Shelbee's pretty bohemian dress. 'Hello, Yellow!' you are always a great color for Summer!
Last but not least girly girl Lizzie wore a polka dot dress to show 'How to Style Colorful Summer Outfit Accessories' like her bright pink bag which you can see and her ice-cream cone earrings you should click on her post to better see!
Ooh, I love periwinkle--such a gorgeous shade of blue! Your top is so cute. Looks like a lovely date, Ada!!
