Thursday Moda #143: The Holiday Series 2018, Holiday Winter Wedding.

Happy Thursday you all - the last of this month of November. We are also half-way through The Holiday Series 2018, which is a Holiday-themed, Multi-Post Collaboration I have been doing over the last 3 weeks or so, with my closest blogging friends. Today is post 3 and there are 3 more coming. In case you missed it, the last collaboration of this series featured what we wore or planned to wear for Black Friday. Today however, we are getting all fancy-fancy because seven of us are sharing what to wear to a Winter Wedding, and not just any Winter Wedding but one that falls during these festive Holiday months.

THE  HOLIDAY  SERIES  2018:  WHAT  TO  WEAR  TO  A  HOLIDAY  WINTER  WEDDING.
I actually went to a Wedding this November and this is now what I wore. Instead, I had one a lacy fit+flare hunter green mini dress topped with my leopard trench and some velvety pumps. But when I saw both photos submitted by Monica and Jennie (below), I decided to create an entirely-different look. I wanted to wear something red and I wanted it to be festive. Even better that it is in Red+Black since those are the colors of my home country of Albania and it is Albania's Independence Day on November 28th. [Happy Independence Day my Dear Albania!!] So, I came up with this Lovely Outfit made of separates. But I had to photograph it indoors since the weather was not cooperating.

When I think of this time of the year to me festive are things like textures (satin, leather, velvet, brocade, suede, lace or embellishments are some of the examples), glittery things like sequins, fun sparkly jewelry + hair accessories like a stack of bracelets (like I wore) Statement Earrings (like I am wearing) or a Statement Necklace and some patterns like florals, jacquard, leopard and of course plaid. I came up with this Outfit featuring a Midi Flared Vegan Leather Black Skirt (c/o a local boutique), a Fun Dressy Silky Red Tank (from The Limited many years ago) that has a little bit of black lace adorning the sleeves (love the square neck, too) and since it is Winter after all I wore some Thick, Opaque Textured Tights by Loft. My makeup was polished but simple with a neutral-looking Pink Lipgloss. I also wore some Fun Black Statement Earrings by Sugarfix. I stacked together a few bracelets in peach, coral, grey, brown and slate. But I went for a very Simple, Minimalistic Necklace. I wanted some Sparkly Accessories though, therefore I carried this mini Gold Sequined Clutch (perfect for the essentials: lipstick, mascara, a few tissues, cash, credit card, car keys + my phone). I also am wearing Iridescent Sparkly Sandal Pumps purchased last year via target.com. To keep myself warm, I would add a nice wool coat, preferably a colored one like mustard, teal, emerald, purple, red or fuchsia. I would also add a dressier type of scarf, like something with metallic thread through it. What do you think of wearing separates instead of a dress to a Winter Wedding?! What outfit to you 'qualifies' as proper for a Holiday/End of the Year Wedding?! Do you think it is OK to wear skirts and pants or are you only on dresses/jumpsuits team?! Let me know in the comments.

But, read on to see what everyone plans to wear for a Holiday Winter Wedding if one came along and how would they style their outfits. I noticed a lot of textured pieces too. I also noticed florals, lace and velvet. Jewel tones too - loving the deep emerald shades. Lastly, I must say I love that Laura like me decided on a 2-piece outfit featuring the most beautiful skirt - my favorite skirt from her closet!
BOJANA Bo's Bodacious Blog "Join me over at Bos Bodacious Blog for a lighthearted look at what weddings in your later 30's and with kids in tow look like.  ðŸ˜Š"
AMBER Avec Amber "The holidays are a magical time of the year, bringing families and friends together to celebrate the season. Holiday weddings also hold their own magic, and are a perfect time to wear richer colors like burgundy, emerald, and navy as well as richer fabrics like velvet or brocade!"
SHELBEE Shelbee on the Edge "For my Holiday Wedding outfit, I chose a simple black and white tweed dress but added tall burgundy velvet boots for a holiday feel.  Some pearls, a flower headband, bow gloves, and a furry clutch complete this wintery wedding look. I am comfortable and on trend all at once!"
ADA Elegance and Mommyhood "I actually went to a wedding this November and wore an adorable lace emerald dress but then when I saw Jennie's and Monica's Outfits I decided to show another dressy, fancy outfit that would be perfect for a Holiday Wedding. I mixed an A-Line Leather Midi Skirt with a Pretty Red Top with a touch of black lace. Added some sparkle via my glittery shoes and gold sequined mini clutch and voila!"
JENNIE A Pocketful of Polka Dots "I selected an evergreen velvet swing dress styled with a burnout velvet kimono to wear to a Holiday wedding. The addition of a tassel necklace and criss-cross tights add festive touches, while velvet block heel shoes insure I will be able to dance the night away in comfort."
LAURA I Do deClaire "The holidays are a magical time of year that friends and family come together to celebrate so I can see the allure of getting married during this time. It can be a a fun opportunity to add some festive touches to your outfit, too! I played up the burgundy in my skirt with the lace top and accessories as a nod to traditional holiday colors!"
MONICA Jersey Girl, Texan Heart "I've been wearing a lot of black lately, especially to weddings.  I would have worn black to all of the weddings I went to this year, but the one that I was in required a certain type of dress and color.  I don't know why but I feel like black is just so classy, and it can be gloomy to some people, but if you dress it up right you're good to go!  I mean, at least I have fun colored shoes on right?"

Thanksgiving was last week so the linkup was on the lighter side. I still managed to find some outfits I loved though, including two (Jacqui and Julie) that I think would make great Winter Wedding Outfits, like the ones we are featuring today. The other outfits were on the casual side but I loved them!

This week's featured blogger is the always-stylish, modern, sexy and well-dressed STEFANIE from The Style Safari. Can you believe this mom babe had a baby less than a year ago?! She looks amazing. In her amazingness she linked up this 'Black and White Sheer Set' she wore to a Mexico vacation, recently. This is part of the "Designed by Stefanie" series because this stylish babe is very talented and designs a lot of her own clothes. Now, a sheer, lacy set is not for everyone especially if it exposes the undies but it looks TO DIE FOR on Stefanie. It is modern, light, fun, girly. I love the white piping and the little leafy print was perfect for that amazing desert setting where she shot these photos in Mexio. Love the cactus flowers. Also, this set she designed goes perfectly with the name of her blog "The Style Safari" because of the safari print and the safari vibes of this entire shoot. If you don't follow Stefanie, please do. Her blog is amazing. She always has the most unique clothes whether she purchases them at boutiques or makes her own. Her style is amazing and her photos are magical. She looks like a model!

In her post 'Style Steal' Jacqui looks a little Jackie O (just like her namesake) and totally ladylike in that amazing tweed cropped jacket paired with a pussybow blouse and pretty pleated midi skirt. Love the light neutral grey tonal look, here.
My friend Carrie shared some 'Comfort with These Cozy Slippers'. She looks so cute and cozy in her home and I love the maroon plaid top.
The beaming Linda wore a black+white outfit and shared her 'Thanksgiving Style' looking beautiful in that boho sheer blouse. Love her red leather gloves.
Pam who is a new read to me, linked up her very first style post. This 'Fall Fashion over 50' look is very put-together and I love the pretty fall wreath by her door.
Julie shared a 'Holiday Dress from Eva Trends'. You can never go wrong with a classic lace black dress, for any occasion really, especially in that classy style. Love the pashmina with it for a Winter dressy event this holiday season.
