The 6 Remix: Short-Sleeve, Scoop-Neck, White+Black Tee.
Happy Labor Day Sunday you all! Doing any shopping today or tomorrow? There are so many great sales and deals and Fall promotions out there. Great time to buy some Summer pieces on clearance or start your cool weather wardrobe and splurge a little on the Fall styles. I personally plan on shopping my closet instead. Which is what I did with my outfit today, as well.
Striped Tee: Casual Elegant.
This is one of my most favorite outfits of this Summer. It includes 5 pieces I love, 2 of which are at least four years old (the Striped Tee and the Leopard Pencil Skirt), 2 are semi-new (the Daisy Necklace and the Nude Bow Flat Sandals) and one is brand new (the Circle Blush Sunglasses). In theory this outfit is pretty simple, but in reality there is a lot of interest such as pattern-mixing, bows and pave on the sandals, a big Flower Statement Necklace and Statement Sunglasses. The colors are neutrals though: Black, Camel, Blush and White. The reason why this outfit is one of my favorites is because it works and because I think leopard paired with black+white stripes is perfect. Plus, the little flattering details such as the pencil shape of the skirt, the ruched sleeves on the tee, and I added a bold matte red lipstick which all of these make it more feminine and elegant. While I wore this on one of my afternoons and evenings as a mom, this outfit could also work for a casual work environment. Therefore I call this look "Casual Elegant". What do you think? And since today is the 6th of September, I want to show you 6 ways to style a Short-Sleeve, Scoop-Neck, Black+White Striped Tee for Summer (or early Fall).
White+Black, Elbow-Sleeve, Stripe Tee w/ Scoop Neck & Ruched Sleeves: White House Black Market (very similar, love this), (similar by Burberry, same as in the collage, Splurge), (boat-neck option by Lauren, comes in 3 colors, great deal, love this), (similar w/ elbow sleeves in boxy style by CK, best deal, my favorite).
Leopard, Classic Pencil Skirt: White House Black Market (similar, current version by WHBM, love this), (gorgeous midi pencil option by Gianni Bini, great deal, love this), (gorgeous option in leopard+black by Vince Camuto, my favorite), (similar in smaller print by CK, best deal).
Off-White, Gold-Tone, Big Flower Statement Necklace: Kohls (very similar by Liz Claiborne, great deal), (similar by Dorothy Perkins, best deal, love this), (gorgeous option w/ pearls, my favorite), (gorgeous option by Trina Turk, Splurge, love this).
The Accessories:
Off-White, Gold-Tone, Big Flower Statement Necklace: Kohls (very similar by Liz Claiborne, great deal), (similar by Dorothy Perkins, best deal, love this), (gorgeous option w/ pearls, my favorite), (gorgeous option by Trina Turk, Splurge, love this).
Blush, Large, Plastic Round-Framed Sunglasses: c/o Ital Optica (New) (very similar by The Row, Splurge, love these), (fun option in chain frames by Nasty Gal, great deal, love these), (gorgeous option by Vans in black frames & tortoise, best deal, my favorite), (fun turquoise option by Charlotte Russe for 2 bucks!)
Brown+Nude, T-Strap, Bow Sandals w/ Silver Rhinestone Embellishments: A Local Shoe Boutique (similar, thong option, also come in black, best deal), (gorgeous option by MK, on sale, love these), (fun option by Naughty Monkey, my favorite).

Here is a second look of how I styled this Striped Tee last Fall. I would call this: "Girly Casual". I kept it simple as far as colors go, a khaki skirt with khaki slip-on loafers and just a hint of hot pink via the stripes of the scarf. I did mix two different stripes though, but they worked since the stripes are in the same width.
And, I created a Collage with 4 other very different looks of how to style a White+Black, Short-Sleeve Striped Tee. You can click on the collage link to see each item in detail.
Short-Sleeve Striped Tee, 4 ways. by ada54.
Look 1 (top left corner) "Cozy Traveling Style".
For a traveling day in a plane for a few hours (or a lot of hours) I would pair the tee with a Cozy, Warm, Open-Front Cardigan, some Distressed BF Jeans, a pair of Converse Sneakers, a Cool+Colorful Sports Watch and a Leather Tote Handbag. I love the neutral gray and stripe detail on that gorgeous cardigan (once again mixing stripes with stripes). Since the color was mostly neutrals I chose fun purple Converse sneakers and a sleek, gorgeous red sports watch (which I want). A Cozy Cardigan, Comfortable Flat Shoes, a Large Handbag and a Watch are all musts to travel with. The camel color and luxe well-made leather of the bag add richness and sophistication to the look. I actually wore this very same tee from today's post with an oversized black cardi and comfy bootcut jeans with sneakers, when I flew from Europe to USA exactly a month ago today.
Look 2 (top right corner) "Fancy Feminine".
For a Fancy, Night-out Look I stayed true to my feminine style and the love I have for A-line Floral Midi Skirts. The striped tee got paired with a Colorful Floral Midi Circle Skirt (another pattern-mix that works), a Stunning Crystal Statement Necklace, Crystal Studs, a Red Envelope Clutch (which brings out the red flowers on the skirt) and Classic Black Stiletto Pumps. This look is dressy and fancy enough for a bridal shower, a cocktail dinner, New Year's Eve, a Holiday Party or even a Wedding. On my last evening in Europe I wore my tee from today with a very similar Red+Black, Floral Circle Skirt and Lace Bow Pumps. Unfortunately I do not have pictures of that outfit but I definitely plan on repeating it.
Look 3 (bottom right corner) "Urban Weekend".
I love black+white paired with red so this is a no-brainer. I paired the tee with the Red Pixie Pants by Old Navy, this time. A Dainty Silver+Turquoise Layered Necklace and a bunch of Silver Bangles were the jewelry I chose for this look. For that urban city look I added Modern and Trendy Pointy White Loafers by SheIn and a Tan Back-Pack Style Bag. I like the masculine appeal of those shoes. Swap the White Loafers for the Black Pumps in Look 2 and you got a work-ready Business Casual Look.
Look 4 (bottom left corner): "A Day in the Office".
This is also a no-brainer but a Black Pencil Skirt always and forever looks great with a B+W Striped Tee tucked in (with or without a blazer). Keeping this outfit sophisticated I added a Classic Black Purse, a Classic Gold Watch, Nude Patent Leather D'Orsay Pumps and a pop of color via the Coral Statement Necklace. This look would be just as awesome whether you add a Solid-Colored Cardigan to it (like in cobalt, mustard, red or kelly green), a Denim Jacket, a Black Blazer or even a Colored Blazer like in coral, royal blue or hot pink. But I am leaving the layer part up to you.
So, which of the 4 looks from the collage is your favorite and why?
