Trench Thursday.
Counting today, there are only four days left in August, FOUR. It seemed like August just started yesterday. Every year it feels like each Summer goes by faster and this year is no exception. It starts slower in June, speeds up in July and then August is kaboom - it is gone in the blink of an eye. Am I alone in thinking this? So yeah, in less than a month Fall/Autumn officially starts. But folks, it is between high 80s to low 90s here, definitely in the midst of Summer, weather-wise.
Before Summer is kaput, I wanted to wear some more Dresses, especially ones I have ignored for a long time, so just like yesterday, my Yellow Trench Dress today hadn't been worn since last year, from last Easter to be exact. Trench Dresses (sister to Shirt Dresses) are very in right now. But really styles get recycled often, because I purchased this Armani Exchange Beauty in the Summer of 2009. I have worn it only about half a dozen of times unfortunately, as much as I love it. Finally I re-wore it, just a day before I started my 30 for 30 challenge, and a couple of days before Vivian got a hair-cut, which you saw in our Summer Vacation Photos. Her Floral Skirt+Tank 2-piece has some Yellow in it, also. I styled the Dress with Patent Leather Ballerinas, Black Pave Globe Studs and just added a couple of Colorful Bangles. I have been on a Yellow kick lately (examples 1 and 2). What about you? Are you wearing any Yellow this Summer? And, do you own any Trench Dresses? I found some great ones online, linked on the bottom. =) I'd love to own the Ann Taylor and Rachel Zoe Dresses - they are Gorgeous!!

ReplyDeleteIt's true - every year the summer just goes by faster and faster! I love you in yellow - this reminds me I need to get out my yellow dress before the summer is gone.

I agree... June is my favorite month of the summer, because it seems to drag by and there is all of the excitement about summer just starting. Then July comes and you know it is halfway over... August is my birthday month, but that just makes it go by even faster! That trench dress fits you like a glove and I love yellow! I actually almost got a trench dress in olive yesterday when I was trying to select a dress from a company I am working with... I went with a different dress tho, because I know it'll look great for a wedding I am going to this winter. Vivi is such a cutie!

Unfortunately I cannot do the najority of yellow shades anywhere near my face. Saying the majority as I won't exclude the possibility that one day I find one I am happy with ;-) That said, your dress is wonderful, very stylish and the yellow makes it a real attention piece.
