Skirtmas in July: The KNIT Skirt. Plus Linkup.

Happy August you all! We are officially more than half-way through the year and as a matter of fact Vivian starts school in exactly 4 weeks - how?! Today's outfit was worn in JULY and it's another one for the Skirtmas in July month of outfits in collaboration with my dear friend MIREILLE of Chez Mireille. For this one, the 'prompt' was The KNIT Skirt and we both agreed that this kind of skirt is both versatile and very stylish because honestly - since a knit skirt can be hand-knitted or crocheted like mine, or in a jersey knit material like Mireille's - you can wear them for many occasions creating many different outfits from working from home to running errands, the office, date nights and everything in between. I love that Mireille's skirt is a paisley print and it pairs so well with her lovely grey graphic tee and those patterned gladiator flat sandals. As far as my skirt, check out the deets below.

THE  KNIT  SKIRT.
I don't know if it's all the 80s throwback fashions or what but I have seen knit skirts make a huge comeback this year, especially knit mini skirts. Ditto on skirt sets and knit twin sets in general. Example of this: the lovely skirt knit set I am wearing (it's from the Wild Fable line at Target and I love it so much that I bought the white set which has orange-red Aloha flowers instead of the cherries. But this black 2-piece knit set with the red cherry stems is just lovely. The print is so cute - I LOVE FRUIT PRINTS SO MUCH, especially for the Summer. Keeping it with a fruity theme I paired the skirt with this pinkish-red strawberry statement stud earrings by Sugarfix by BaubleBar. The red in the fruits (cherries and strawberries) pops against all the black. I created a monochromatic look in all black (the sunglasses and beaded headband are also black) with a small punch of red. Now I know I am showing quite a bit of skin between the mini skirt and the super cropped top but it was a very hot summery day and I think I AM am in pretty damn good shape losing all of the baby weight plus more and most days I feel great! So every now and then showing a lot of skin is totally OK, despite what age you are. You only live once after all! So wear all the damn minis and all the crop tops. Am I right?!

CHERRY  CHERRY  LADIES.
Let's be honest, as much as you might love my knit set, the star of this post is my beautiful baby girl Gisele. We took so many beautiful photos together that day and narrowing them down to the ones you see in this post wasn't easy. Gisele is a total cutie pie and her beautiful smiling face makes me so happy! She 100% matched mommy in her own cherry print pieces, wearing the most adorable tiered skirt and graphic tee set and pairing it with those cherry cutie pie pink sneakers. FUN FACT about the sneakers, they were the first pair of shoes and the first thing I purchased for Gisele as soon as I found out the baby's gender last year. They are truly so cute. And in reference to "Cherry Cherry Ladies" if you are European and lived in Europe in the 80s or 90s or both, you are very familiar with the group "Modern Talking" who had so many fabulous hits during those 2 decades, including "Cheri Cheri Lady" - and as soon as I saw all these photos this song came to mind and now it's stuck there lol.
