The Fab 40s - Inspired by Air. Plus Linkup.

Good Afternoon you all. This post comes super, super late but man I have had such hectic few days, you have no idea. I feel bad that I am posting so late alongside my sisters of the Fab 40s. But I have had a very busy Summer and it's about to get busier - I guess that can be both a good and a bad thing. Over the last few months the ladies of the Fab 40s have done a style trip around Mother Nature and have entertained the idea of the 4 elements that make up nature, earth, our globe, the planet we live in: Water, Earth, Fire and today - the very last one - Air. Air like the air we breathe, the air that brushes our hair and our skin when we are outside, the oxygen as well as all the smokes that surround us.

Air can be interpreted, seen and I guess styled many different ways. Now you may ask, what does the color black have to do with air?! Well let me explain. Mother Nature has played so many numbers on us over the past decade: all the hurricanes, the crazy tornadoes, all the fires in California and Australia among others, the global warming and lately all the rain we have experienced all around the world. It has been a wet Summer folks (for my home state of MI, too). Countries that have never experienced so much rain before (like Germany and Belgium) have exploded with floods, destroyed buildings and unfortunately have caused a death toll of over 200 people. That goes to tell us that we are living on a planet made up of dirt, muddiness and bad air. I looked at this air as black clouds (black air) because our planet Earth is suffering so much. That's how I came up with my look...

INSPIRED  BY  AIR.
So now that I explained the black color I chose for the Air theme, let's take a more detailed look into my outfit. I went for a head to toe black look popped with some burgundy via my bag and my watch. I am in love with this short, breezy, easy, tiered little black dress by Target (I own it in coral, too). This LBD is my favorite dress from Target that I purchased this year. It is so easy to wear, so breathable, totally girly and it has pockets! Who doesn't love pockets?! You can dress it down with white sneakers (it would look so cute!! I can picture it), dress it up with some heels or pumps or go in between like I did here with my black strappy leather pointy flats by Steve Madden. So I decided to do a black dress with black shoes, my black (favorite) Quay sunglasses and even my necklace is black (mostly). The neckline of this dress is a scoop neck so I decided to grab one of my statement necklaces (haven't worn this one in forever) and went for this big bauble beauty by White House Black Market. I love the black and silver giant, sparkly beads. The burgundy/wine was a great touch of color for this otherwise black look! I linked the same exact dress on the widget below and it's ON SALE. I love the metaphoric airy aspect that this dress brings. It is light, airy and simply beautiful. The material is very light which makes it perfect for Summer and for this month's style challenge, don't you think?!

We are killing it in our very diverse, very unique and all equally stylish AIR looks! I will go through each of the ladies outfits in more detail, further below.

My only pop of color: Burgundy or Maroon or Wine or Bourdeaux, how do you call it?! One: this beautiful burgundy+silver watch by Brighton Collectibles. It was a gift from my beau, for Christmas. It's a great watch! Two: the Rebecca Minkoff crossbody bag that matches the watch to perfection!

NOW LET'S CHECK  OUT THE "AIR-INSPIRED" OUTFITS OF MY  STYLISH  FAB  40s  CO-HOSTS.

There is AIR in every piece that Shelbee put together plus all the airy blue colors of Mother Nature that come from her outfit. I see the fresh air behind all that greenery, the bushes and the tree that surround her, too.

Suzy is dancing in the air, ala a Mary Poppins moment. It's her explosion of bright sunny yellow (pants) that bring me the air and warmth of the sun. Suzy always had the best pants/trousers!

Mireille is also wearing a maxi like several of the other ladies here and it suits the air theme. Just as airy: her beautiful kimono-sleeve white blouse. Mireille's pose also symbolizes air.

For the second month in a row, Daenel is wearing my favorite outfit. I can see the air in her gorgeous strapless maxi dress in the delightful peachy color, her airy printed long kimono, the light layers that came together beautifully and her hairstyle. This is perfect for Daenel who always rocks boho style. I'd wear it to a Summer outdoor wedding.
