My Annual Blog Birthday Party - Shining in Gold and Tan!!
Today is my birthday!! Happy Birthday to me!!
Birthdays are - in my opinion - a reminder of the good years we have lived and all that we have left behind, filled with hopes, dreams and promises of the future years ahead of us! Each day of the 365 days is a chance from God to start anew and embrace the day as it comes: the good, the bad and the ugly! Today is my birthday and for the 9th year in a row - since I started my blog - I am doing my annual blog birthday party, as a way to celebrate with all of you. I want to thank all of my blogging friends that participated this year and I appreciate their beautiful outfits and even more beautiful birthday messages. I am the lady in gold today, shining in a textured, tiered dress by White House Black Market and coordinating gold and tan accessories. We will look at my gold monochromatic outfit in more detail, below.
SHINING IN GOLD AND TAN!!
Shining in Gold and Tan, I am wearing one of the most recent dresses I have purchased this year, from the last purchase I did from one of my favorite boutique brands - White House Black Market. For my special birthday post today I wore this shimmery gold, sleeveless, tiered dress. It is such a pretty dress that would make a great dress if you were invited to a special event like a shower or a wedding. I love so many details of this dress: the neutral gold color, the shimmery crinkled texture, the double tiered skirt, the wide smocked detail on the waist (you can easily eat a full 3 or 4 course meal) and especially the smocked high neckline which I love. I decided to go for an entirely monochrome look and paired it with my gold ball hoop earrings (can you believe they are by Wal Mart?!), a mauve+gold tortoise hair barrette by the SugarFix by BaubleBar line, my gorgeous crystal silver cuff by Express and matching leather camel accessories: perforated peep-toe faux leather booties by Target and my real leather wristlet clutch by Nordstrom. I could have gone for higher heels or a dressier clutch and shoes but I wanted an outfit that was dressy but not too fancy and with that comfort factor too. Just because it is your birthday and you want to look glamorous, it doesn't mean you have to suffer for comfort?! Right?! I did spice up my makeup with a chocolate shimmery eyeliner and deep plum lipstick. What do you think of my Gold and Tan Monochromatic Birthday Look?! Is it special enough?! Do you like this dress?! I linked several gorgeous gold dresses on the widget at the bottom of this post.
Joining my annual birthday celebration today I have Lucy, Amber, Daenel, Nancy, KellyAnn and Laura, as you see from the collage above. Some of these ladies have joined my annual Blog Birthday Party on the previous years also, and I appreciate them for having fun and wanting to join in, again. We will get to each of their outfits and their little blurbs a little below.
Thank you ladies for celebrating my blog birthday party this year and for looking so wonderful in your looks!
My gorgeous super-colorful bouquet of 15 roses was specially delivered early over my birthday weekend by my significant other. Aren't they gorgeous?! They smelled so nice!! Wish you could smell them through the screen!
Now let's take a look at the 6 wonderful fashionistas who joined me today. And stay tuned for tomorrow's post because there will be 7 other beautiful ladies who will join me on part two of My Annual Blog Birthday Party.
"Hey did you hear- it’s Ada’s Birthday! Here I am ready to celebrate in all shades of pink mixed with orange. Wanted to keep my look fun, bright, festive, warmly inviting and, casually chic. Also, a fun side to the look with pants giving off a bit of sassiness with their slit on the side. I think this whole look is well representative of all that Ada’s about! Happy Birthday my friend! Xx"
"I am so happy to be joining in with Ada's birthday celebration for the past who knows how many years! It's wonderful to form blogging friendships in this wonderful, supportive community that last over time. I went with a bright yellow maxi because I am wishing Ada many sunny, warm birthday blessings!"
"My favorite part of blogging is definitely the virtual friendships created over the years. Ada is one of the kindest women I have ever met through blogging, one who always encourages and uplifts others. I am thrilled to be joining Ada again for her blog birthday party, and today I am sharing a colorful puff-sleeve midi dress that will be so much fun to style this spring and summer. The bright floral print is an instant mood-booster, just like Ada! Wishing you a wonderful birthday, Ada!"
"I just want to wish you the happiest of birthdays! I'm wearing a fun mixed print maxi dress with a denim jacket and clogs for comfort and style."
My beautiful bouquet of bright roses made the perfect colorful color splash to this otherwise neutral+monochromatic look!
"Happy Birthday dearest Ada! I hope you have a fabulous day as you deserve it so much! I am dressed in my beloved black and white dress with a touch of green! Lets toast to you and celebrate my friend!"
"HI Ada! Thank you for including me in your birthday celebration! I hope you do something fabulous to celebrate this year!"
