A Prose.

Sharing a little prose I just wrote today on April 21st 2021. Can you relate?!

We live or we simply exist? This is the matter and what a matter it is!? In this dirty world during Corona times and full of viruses, more and more each day we are understanding that nothing in life waits forever and everything is temporary, just like the Covid times of quarantine and uncertainty that we are going through. Life comes to us only one single time, for some it seems short and for some it's the longest and hardest train that passes. I think, in principle life is long, that's why you have to spend it with the right people. Get rid of those people who are not happy for your happiness, who are not proud of you, who are not convinced by your work and your success, those people who hide behind masks or even without masks! Erase those people that try to erase your joy, who constantly try to put you down and make you feel like shit, every time they can! Get rid of those people who didn't see you on your worst days, those who never saw your true, real tears! Don't try to understand those who always misunderstood you! Hug those who have felt you deep in the heart and who have embraced your trials and tribulations, your losses and your failures too, because you have tried! Love those who have loved you, who have wanted the best for you through battles and struggles as well as through triumphs and successes.

One day you will wake up and you will fully understand that saying "quality over quantity"! You will recognize your values more and you will know the values of that small circle of people that are your people. You will understand that each human relationship you have had has been valuable, every prince and every frog you have kissed, every romantic relationship you have failed at has served a purpose. And when you have a new relationship, you will understand very well not about who and what you want and who and what you deserve, but who and what you don't want and who and what you don't deserve. You will understand that every road, street, boulevard and path you have taken has been for a purpose and has been important for the path you are currently on. You have grown and continue to grow as you continue to make mistakes, but mistakes just like forgiveness is humane.

Don't wait for someone to tell you do this or do that, do it for yourself! Don't waste your days without appreciating each dawn in the morning, whether the day is sunny, foggy, cloudy, rainy or snowy. When you can, as you take a walk in the nature, take some time to smell the flowers, even the tiny flowers that are not the prettiest. Find the time to thank God for everything, even during a very rough and painful season of your life. There will always be many other people who have it tougher than you do. Trust me!! Just like there will always be other people who have had it easy in life, without a lot of difficulties, like an evergreen field filled with beautiful daisies. Don't compare your happiness with someone else's because comparison is the thief of joy! Everyone has at least one inner struggle whether you can see it or not. Don't try to understand every struggle of every person because you won't be able to, ever!

In your life you are the rider, the dreamer, the desperate, the dominant, the sufferer, the happy one, the one who makes decisions, the lover, the maker, the tired and the energetic one, the one who is alive! It is up to you to find the rainbow at the end of a long, dark tunnel. It is up to you to be a good friend, a good child for your parents, a good partner, husband or wife, a loving significant other, a good model parent for your children, a good sibling. Don't let the ball be on someone else's court. It's in your hands, in your court. Kick it, lift it, play with it, make sure that ball gets tired to no end! Don't forget from time to time to open up the drawer of your hidden dreams because some of them may not be that unreachable - not all of them are! Become the best possible parent for your child for whom you have sacrificed and spent a lot. Even if the other parent in their lives is not doing the same. And no matter how many times you fall down, don't lose hope and never, ever give up. Fall in love like a crazy teenager, love without regrets. Fall in love again and let the spark come back into your life. Because when a chapter ends, another one starts, it might be a chapter that belongs to another book entirely, but there will always be new chapters.

If life has only taught me ONE THING during this time of Covid-19 is that nothing in life can wait forever. Everything has an expiration date, so don't wait. Today I will go outside and I will walk - even-though it is freezing out. And as I walk I will smile and count my blessings, and there are indeed many blessings...

  1. Very wise words Ada. Indeed if the pandemic has taught us anything, it's how much we should savor the small pleasures, and freedoms, that we have in everyday life.

  2. Beautiful words and message, my sweet friend! The one huge lesson I have learned this past year is to keep my focus on gratitude and that will keep my perspective healthy and life is so much better with a healthy perspective and a whole lot of gratitude!

  4. I definitely have worked on enjoying each day more this year and enjoying the little things. And when I have a not so good day, when I fall, I get up and try to learn something from that experience.
