The Fab 40s - Crazy for Dots.
Today, the Fab 40s group and I are back and the focal point of our outfits, are DOTS. Polka dots, big dots or like in my case: heart dots, we are all crazy for dots today. Dots are classic, polished, preppy, elegant, girly, fun, whimsical and timeless. It is one of those patterns that everyone loves, I know I do. Do you like Polka Dots?! If you like dots and if you like fashion challenges, you can join Shelbee, Suzy and Daenel in this collaboration that we do the last Monday of each month, we each rotate the themes/challenges for our outfits. Daenel chose this month's theme and it's a great one. Who doesn't love the joy and exbuerance of innocent, girly polka dots?!
CRAZY FOR POLKA DOTS.
Aren't my geometric heart dots perfect?! I love that these hearts are not the perfect heart shape, slightly irregular, totally sweet, girly and elegant. A beautiful black+white print and the right print to wear during February since it's the month of love. I just love this little dress from Loft with the peplum hemline. These photos date back from late October of last year on a very special day spent downtown Detroit - I included a couple pics from the city, too. But I love that I put together this beautiful black+white outfit that is not boring because of all the patterns and textures I mixed. The embroidered flowers on my favorite black tights I have worn this season and the velvet bow open-toe block heel sandals definitely add to this look. I added a pop of bronze and a third pattern via that snakeskin little crossbody bag from The Limited from quite some years ago. The best part of this look: the bright red Nars lipstick and the gold chain dangly earrings by Express. By the way, I shopped my closet for this look and I am glad I did. I love how it came out! Are you crazy for dots?! Do you prefer them black+white or colored?!
The Fab 40’s is a group of four fashion bloggers from around the globe. Each month we choose a different theme with the goal of taking on style trends and showing how we each interpret and incorporate them into our own lives. With four widely varied views, you are certain to find something that speaks to you each month and encourages you to continue to have fun with fashion after the age of 40.
Let's take a closer look to what my friends wore. Everyone looks different in how we interpreted our dots but in my opinion Shelbee's outfit totally steals the show!!
Proper, prim, pretty, retro, polished and put-together is how I would describe Shelbee's multi-layered look. How pretty and classic is that dotted bow scarf that acts as a pussybow blouse and it looks so good paired with those striped shorts and tights. The big flower brooch adds to the feminity of the look, the brogue oxford shoes make it a little masculine, while the beret makes it European, duhh!
First of all how cool is this area in Daenel's home?! I may be mistaken but that looks like vintage furniture. The perfect spot for a coffee bar area. Love all her missmatched coffee mugs. Secondly, I love Daenel's look which is bohemian, edgy and fun altogether. The embroidered flowers on her blouse are darling and the polka dots on her look: her statement earrings! How fun and unique, she definitely thought outside the box with this one!
SUZY from The Grey Brunette.
Grey office trousers paired with a black+white zebra blouse layered over a polka dot tank top and more polka dots (her handbag) get a little athleisure appeal due to those mustard sneakers that definitely pop against this monochromatic look. Suzy is always bold in her fashion-making choices, a trendsetter for sure!
Such a cute dress. Hope you are doing well.

Love this dress on you! It's such a fun twist on the regular polka dots pattern and it would have been perfect for more classy Valentines Day outfit too! Also, can I just gush over your tights. They are spot on.

Ada, this dress is so adorable! I love that your dots are not traditional dots but scattered heart dots! So, so cute. And those tights are amazing! I do love open toed shoes with tights and socks as well. Those shoes are magnificent, too! Well done, my friend!
