Stylish Monday October Linkup - The Sweater Edit.
Today, I am back for Stylish Monday which is a group of fashionable ladies who blog from USA and Europe and all belong to a Facebook Group. I am thankful to them for welcoming me a few months ago. This is my 4th post with them and possibly my favorite "prompt" we have done since it is all about sweaters which are my jam. I am a Midwest girl after all and we are bound to wear sweaters here from September through May. So you have to have plenty of light knits, heavy knits, long cardigans, turtleneck sweaters, buttoned cardigans, ponchos, tunics and everything in between. For this collaboration I wore this beautiful wool-ish sweater with many stripes colorblocked: from a couple shades of pink to red, magenta and dark maroon. This sweater is perfect to wear for this month of October since it is Breast Cancer Awareness and speaking of that, I will have an entire week of pink outfits, starting next Monday on October 19th. I paired this sweater, today, with sleek leopard pants in a small and classic leopard print and my suede+faux alligator pointy loafers by Essex from DSW. I accessorized with bold gold-tone hoop earrings, a bright lip, a couple of gold-tone cuffs and a black leather crossbody bag. I cannot find this sweater online through my links but at the widget below I found several similar sweaters for different price points. I am in love with some of them and they are greatky-priced.
My other 8 fabulous and stylish friends brought a lot of options and ways to style sweaters, this season. I am in love with Andy's Burberry inspired poncho, Emma's green+black zebra tunic sweater and that amazing "Rock and Love" sweater that Julie styled fabulously with little chain black booties and tights - such a fun, rock n' roll look! Check out their blogs today to see their fun outfits, in detail.
SHELBEE of Shelbee on the Edge
"I found this cute fox sweater at JCPenney a few years ago and I have never shared it on my blog before. I love the fun geometric graphic of the fox. Foxes are my favorite animal so I added my little rose gold fox necklace, too. This sweater is perfect for the beginning of sweater weather because it is a lighter weight knit and has 3/4 sleeves. I can even comfortably pair this sweater with shorts for a cute transitional look."
ANDREA of Pearls and Pantsuits
"Ponchos are such a fun and easy way to add a light layer to an outfit. This plaid one has been one of my wardrobe staples for years. I love the plaid pattern and autumnal colors. I can’t wait to pull it out each fall!"
NICOLE of High Latitude Style
"I saw this red cashmere sweater in a consignment store. It was my size, color and the price was right. So I gave it a new home in my closet despite I already had two other red cashmere sweaters. However, they have a turtle and crew neck, respectively. Thus, a V-neck was different enough. And, for my excuse, one can never have too many neutrals, right?"
EMMA of Style Splash
"I won this tunic sweater from Bonmarche in a Christmas giveaway on Instagram a couple of years ago. The length gives me the option of wearing it as a dress with thick tights and long boots as I’ve done here, or over black skinny jeans and ankle boots when it’s colder."
JULIE of Fashion Trends and Friends
"Sweater season in Illinois lasts from potentially September through March and sometimes into April. (Last year, we got snow on Halloween!). If you did the math, that’s half a year at the least and possibly a full seven months. Therefore, this midwest girl loves her sweaters of all colors, styles and of course fun, unique and embellished sweaters are even better in my book! I first saw this sweater on IG and loved how it was styled plus the fact that it says Rock and Love. Hope you take a minute to read my blog and see all the ways it can be worn and styled both in warmer climates as well as when it gets colder."
NANCY of Nancy's Fashion Style
“I love sweaters, because I am always cold. The thicker the better! But I don’t like cols, they don’t look good on me. Which is a pity because they are so much warmer then a v-neck. Ah well, the things you suffer for the sake of fashion!”
ADA of Elegance and Mommyhood
"“A colorblocked pink and fuchsia sweater is perfect for October particularly, because Pink raises awareness for Breast Cancer Month. This happy, bright piece is a new find from Target as are those new leopard pants (wish I had sized down in them, they have a hidden elastic band). Throw in a pumpkin, and I am ready for Fall with all of my sweaters!”
NINA of Sharing a Journey
“Cozy sweaters and cardigans make styling fall outfits so much fun.”
SUZANNE of Ask Suzanne Bell
“Out here in California, the weather has her own idea of what fall looks like. With cold mornings to very high afternoon temperatures; our Autumn weather tends to be a bit manic, making my go-to knit something I can throw on and off with ease in the form of a cardigan or sweater vest. Layered over anything from jeans and a t-shirt, to a transitional sundress, either of these California wardrobe staples allows me to enjoy the look of “fall”, despite our Indian Summer weather.”
The colors in this sweater look great on you. Love the mix of leopard print with stripes. Interesting how the pants push the look of the sweater from casual to posh casual.

I have almost the same sweater Ada! It's lovely and looks great on those trousers.
ReplyDeleteAda,
ReplyDeleteI adore all the shades of pink in your sweater! I love how you've paired it with leopard print pants. Both pieces can be worn and styled so many fun ways! As always it's a pleasure to collaborate with you and the others!
