Pink Week for Breast Cancer - Millennial Pink and a Link-up.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and women's breast cancer is symbolized with that infamous pink ribbon we all know about. It is such a great cause for women, mothers and young ladies too because one can catch it as early as 25 years old. So, in October we wear PINK!! And that is exactly what I am doing all this week: wearing and styling different outfits featuring some type of pink. From Millennial Pink to Tie Dye Pink, I will cover it all for 7 days. I will also be joined by several of my blogging friends, starting off today with AMY from Amy's Fashion Blog -- one of my oldest fashion blogging friends, from when I first started 7-8 years ago.

Amy and I have done this pink series in October, a few years ago also, and I wanted to bring it back in honor of breast cancer aWEARness and in honor of me turning 40 this year and getting my very first mammogram a couple of weeks ago (luckily, my test results came out great). Amy is the perfect person to do this collaboration with because she loves pink so much and wears a lot of it, especially Millennial Pink like we both styled today. Unfortunately, her dad passed away recently and she will be attending his funeral tomorrow here in Michigan actually, so she won't be able to join me for the entire week like we had originally planned it, but she will be back with me this Friday. We will also have a linkup for Pink Week. I would love for you to join it, at the end of this post.

MILLENNIAL  PINK.
What is Millennial Pink?! I would describe millennial pink as a variety of light, airy soft pinks. Millennial Pink can be in a shade of a pretty pink that is not saturated, to a soft delicate petal pink - sort of like my knotted top I have on today, to the lightest shades of baby pink like the silk trim on my Abercrombie sherpa jacket, to blush like my purse. This color - Millennial Pink - has been the hit or the IT color of the 2000s and it is not just a trend anymore, it has become a neutral, a classic! Honestly, today's outfit was not what I had originally planned to post. I actually wore a lighter millennial pink (blush) airy midi dress paired with cranberry booties. But almost none of the photos saved. My phone has been acting wonky since the memory is full, I will upgrade very soon to the new iPhone and retire my current Android. So lucky for me I had these photos from earlier this Fall (before I cut and colored my hair) and this layered Fall look featuring Millennial Pink was indeed perfect for today, plus I kind of like this outfit more. As you can see, I wore it on a Mother+Daughter date with my beautiful daughter Vivian. I paired my pretty knotted top by Loft with that amazing sherpa jacket by Abercrombie from last year (this year's versions are just as amazing and today is the last day they are on sale for 50% OFF - will link some in the widget at the bottom of this post - got get yourself a couple, they are amazing!!). On the bottom I opted for those mixed media black leggings that are faux leather in the front and ponte in the back. There is some fun animal print in my outfit too between the leopard loafers, wallet and cuff to the snakeskin trim on that gorgeous blush nude handbag by Target (from last year). I am also wearing rose gold Kate Spade studs. Little Viv matched mommy in her identical faux leather+ponte black leggings and she has some millennial pink and leopard going on too, check out the cool sleeves of her sweatshirt and the nike pink leopard logo of her high-top sneakers. I will blog her outfit in detail in a future post since pink (any pink) is Vivian's most favorite color!

I think taking photos by the American flag is so suited for this year, especially for this month. October is the last month before November's election. This presidential election more than ever before is so important for us to vote. It is our duty as American citizens to vote and this year we have so many options: by mail, in person, returning your ballot or on the actual voting day, on November 3rd. As a matter of fact I plan on voting tomorrow.

I loved Amy's very chic quilted sweatshirt in the perfect shade of millennial pink. It matches her booties, earrings and cute patterned headband, beautifully. Her nails are stunning (want to get them done myself) and I love that she chose a dark mauve lipstick. Last but not least her bootcut jeans with the button-fly front fit her perfectly!
I noticed upon posting these photos that even-though there are 3 colors in my outfit: pink, black and white - it is still very monochromatic. Speaking of monochromatic, that is what I will be styling tomorrow in various shades of pink and you will see more millennial pink too. Oh and tomorrow, just like today, you will get to see the beautiful city of Milford Michigan where these photos were taken. But we shot at an entirely different area both days. There are actually several adorable places to shoot downtown Milford. Don't you just love all the stunning decorations for Fall?! I want those giant pots of cranberry mums in my house!
We grabbed a quick lunch and coffee for me at our favorite local cafe "Proving Grounds". That sandwich was delicious though totally overpriced!
Vivian enjoyed her time at the cafe doing a little art (that's me and her in matching outfits and ponytails) and some math on the black chalkboard. I love cute cafes that offer entertainment for the kids.
