The Sunday Showcase, September 2020 - Casual Labor Day Inspired Outfits.
Welcome to this month's Sunday Showcase with MIREILLE of Chez Mireille Fashion Travel Mom and I and Happy Labor Day Weekend! To celebrate the last - technically - weekend of Summer, to celebrate America and Labor Day, Mirei and I are indeed posting Casual Labor Day Inspired Outfits today. I hope you all get to enjoy a long 3 or 4 day weekend! And to all the kids: HAPPY NEW SCHOOL YEAR!!
CASUAL LABOR DAY INSPIRED OUTFITS.
Today I am blogging three casual labor day inspired outfits featuring white, blue and lots of red. Some leopard too, as you can see. But first...
A LITTLE RED DRESS.
I never shy away from a red dress as you all know. I own at least 10 red dresses. This little red dress is a comfortable, casual, cotton jersey piece (by Loft). But the fluttery sleeves and the ruffled hemline make it girly and a little dressy. While I dressed it down this time around, it can totally be dressed up too. I styled it with my platform Steve Madden leopard sandals and some matching leopard sunglasses. For jewelry I went simple with classic pearl studs and my Vivian gold necklace - I love this dainty necklace and I love it even more because it has my daughter's name. For my pop of white and blue I decided to go for some stretchy beaded bracelets, mixed together with a rose gold pave bracelet.
DENIM SHORTS, 2 LOOKS.
You can never go wrong with a pair of denim shorts and I got two different pairs today in a light wash. Well, the first pair (by Target) are chambray and they paired so well with my white tank top with red stripes which says "Summer on My Mind" (it's by Loft), some casual flip-flops and an American flag bow pinned on top of my French bun. My other look features this vintage-inspired wash denim shorts (by American Eagle) which are Mom Shorts and slightly high-waisted. With these I tucked in a comfortable leopard tank top inside them and belted the shorts with a red belt which matched my comfortable foam red buckled sandals (love these, they are by Wal Mart and come in so many colors). I linked these identical denim shorts on my widget below. I also linked a pair of high-waisted striped high-waisted shorts by American Eagle (which I also own). Both shorts are great!
There is a little 'theme' going on here: red and leopard. I have always believed red and leopard go great together. Throw in some denim or chambray and you got a totally Americana look that's timeless, classic and feminine, whether the outfits are fancy/dressy/sophisticated or casual/simple/everyday like mine are today. I also love how my friend Mireille was feeling my vibe because her beautiful red skirt had a ruffled hem too. And I love that she chose to style a pretty navy graphic tee two different ways: one totally casual and one between casual and dressy. She is always so put together.
Oh, that dress is really perfect for a mommy on the go! I like the fit a lot and the neckline. Sometimes with my 2 year old, my v neck tops/dress are not always modest when he pulls on my shirt, lol!
