Vivian Chasing Rainbows.

Vivian loves rainbows. If you ask her what her favorite colors are, she will tell you: Pink, Purple, Blue, Gold, Ombre and Rainbow. But (she adds) "Rainbow is the best of them all!" She is 100% my daughter because I LOVE COLORS. Though I love my neutrals too. And what better time for her to wear rainbows that during this month of June which is the LBTGQ month. So, among other rainbow clothes, my little girl wore not one but two Rainbow Graphic Tees (both paired with shorts) two days in a row, complete with colorful JoJo Siwa Shoes (summery slides and a pair of high-top sneakers) and fun girly hairstyles. Vivian also loves JoJo and we all know JoJo Siwa is a girl who loves rainbows.

But let's focus on the month of June for a little bit and what it means to support the LBTGQ community. As a mother, I believe since an early age, we moms (and dads too) have to teach our children to be accepting of anyone and everyone: white, brown, black, disabled, different, straight, gay, trans, native of other countries, blind, deaf, paralyzed, with an accent, with a lisp, etc. Because being different makes us unique and beautiful!! This year more than ever I have taught Vivian about diversity, discrimination and racism, which includes the #blacklivesmatter movement and the second meaning of #rainbows that she loves so much. And Vivian gets it, she is 7 years old but she knows enough for now. Mommy is very proud to see the little young lady that she is growing in to.

VIVIAN  CHASING  RAINBOWSSSSS!!
Vivian is first chasing rainbows in the graphic tee Numero Uno featuring an ivory rainbow tee with a koala bear (Vivian thinks it's a skunk, what do you think?) which we paired with ivory shorts featuring red+blue flowers which is good for this upcoming week since it's the 4th of July week. So in her first outfit we covered 2 CELEBRATIONS: LBTGQ & INDEPENDENCE DAY! Vivian brought a little of her sporty side with her colorful graffiti paint-splattered high-top sneakers and we did her hair in not one but two pigtails. Her t-shirt, sneakers and yellow pom-pom gold hair barrettes are all from Target. Her cute floral patriotic shorts are from Gap Kids. Hmm and look at that sass in those photos! I have an adorable girl as biased as I am! What do you think?! Aren't all little girls sassy?!

In graphic tee Numero Duo, Viv is chasing rainbows and smelling pretty hydrangeas. That big beautiful hydrangea bush is right in front of our home. I love that this tee is grey and lets that colorful rainbow - POP! I also love that the rainbow is asymmetric and looks like a candy cane with a happy little cloud on the shorter side. Vivi has had this graphic tee for a couple of years and just like the other rainbow tee, this one is also from the Cat+Jack kid line at Target. The peplum hem is fun too and makes it work so well with fitted biker shorts. But these are no ordinary biker shorts, they are in a bright hot pink and turquoise color, with happy stripes and a lace hem to boot - I got these last year from Amazon, in a set of 3. Vivian's silver+pink foam slides feature more rainbows and other fun happy Summer things like ice cream, popsicles, unicorns and watermelons. Speaking of Hydrangeas, aren't they one of your favorite Summer flowers?! They are mine, including Peonies. Peonies+Hydrangeas together in a bouquet = Happiness! Viv's adorable 'Chasing Rainbows' Tees from Target are not current but not to worry because I have linked about a dozen rainbow tees that are just as gorgeous. She might need 1 or 2 more in her collection. Oh and check out those very pretty and bright floral shorts!

  4. Vivian definitely has the poses down to launch her own fashion blog one day! I love rainbows, too, and unicorns! I also love that you are teaching her all about diversity and its importance. On the topic of diversity, I just read an article yesterday that a small town in Massachusetts just redefined the definition of "family" in their laws with regard to polyamorous families and other types of family units that don't fit the "norm". I was so excited! Yet this style of relationship and way of loving still does not appear on any list with regard to diversity issues. We include all different types of sexual preferences and gender identities, yet the concept of loving more than one person and building a life that way is still so terribly frowned upon. Man, it makes me so sad. But I am super excited about the progress made in this one little Massachusetts town. Sorry...rant over! Thanks for linking up!
