First Day of Summer 2020.

Last Saturday was the first Day of Summer (officially) I cannot believe it! Also, the longest day of the year. Our sunset was at 9.37 PM (we are on Eastern Time). To "celebrate" this occasion, late in the evening (it was hot, muggy and very humid that day) I took my daughter Vivian out on a little mommy+daughter date. She had fun splashing herself at this fountain you see in the photos and later we had hot dogs and ice cream. It doesn't get more Americana or more Summer in USA than that! We even wore Red+White+Blue, as you can see from our outfits. As the evening was getting dimmer, before it was full-out night, around sunset, we watched a fireworks show accompanied by a live band outdoor concert too (everyone was distanced safely).

FIRST  DAY  OF  SUMMER  2020.
For the first official evening of Summer 2020, I wanted to do easy, comfortable, simple outfits that would be perfect for standing outdoors for a few hours. But I wanted us to still look put-together. We did a little Mommy-Daughter mixing+matching with our gingham pieces. With the exception of those adorable cherry sandals that Viv is wearing (they are Cat+Jack from Target), all our pieces have been in our closets at least since last Summer. My red+white tube top I have had for a good 5 years though it's only the second time I wear it. My adorable black+white gingham shorts are from Loft from two Summers ago. Loft and Old Navy make the best shorts for women. And the comfy foam thong wedges are by Anne Klein from over a decade ago. Vivian's adorable blue+white gingham dress is in a cool pinafore style. I want one in my size! And talk about coordinating together: her red+white ribbon bow matched my top quite perfectly. Vivian's white heart-shaped retro sunglasses by Target are fabulous too! Oh and on the widget below you can find her identical cherry sandals (current). Of course our outfits would be very cute for the upcoming 4th of July weekend, too. Any plans for the 4th?! At least we "got our freedom back" - meaning most of us are not quarantined anymore and we got a lot more normalcy back in our lives after that first horrible wave of Covid19. Speaking of, what stage is your state in?! How are you living life now that things have started to open back up?! Let me know in the comments.

  4. Cute gingham outfits! It's nice things are safe enough for you to go out and enjoy summer! :) Here we can do pretty much anything, with a few limitations, but it's working well as we haven't had any new cases in our state for 7 days now. It's a little scary seeing the outbreak in another state though, they have had 21 cases in one day which is such a high number!

    Thanks for the link up!

Hope your week is going well :)
