Thursday Moda #120: Preppy Breton Office 4th-ish Look.
Today's Thursday Moda post is such a late one beautiful fashionistas, but as I explained last night, these last couple of weeks have kicked my butt, more on the home front and life as a mom, though the days I have been working have been busy, too. So bare with me. And thank you! I actually wore this outfit yesterday to work and my morning appointments/errands. I usually don't post outfits that I wore the same day, the previous day or from the last 3-5 days on the blog (like same-week outfits), because I always have an amount of outfits that have not been published and most times I try to follow some type of chronological order in here (lol) though it usually doesn't happen. Anyway I snapped these photos very quickly because A) I was rushing and B) it was sprinkling rain. It went from 95 degrees on Monday to 75 degrees on Tuesday to 65 degrees yesterday on Wednesday (and those were our highs). So yeah, it wasn't very hot or sunny yesterday. These elbow-sleeves felt even a little too cold for my arms on air-conditioned areas.
PREPPY BRETON OFFICE 4th-ish LOOK.
Since the 4th of July is coming up in 2 weeks, I will be wearing and posting several 4th of July inspired looks, like this Preppy Breton Office 4th-ish outfit. I have the Red (Harper Pants by Old Navy - they are sophisticated, comfortable and make the perfect work pants and the bow scrunchie on my hair), the White (stripes on the tee + a pop of white on my patterned scrunchie) and the blue (the navy tee). I ended up loving this office look, though I photographed it before I added the soft mauve stud earrings. What do you think?!
So, I am a stripe-aholic you guys. Like I can't stop buying Breton Tees and Comfy Summery Striped Dresses. You can always count on cute striped pieces from stores like Old Navy, J.Crew + J.Crew Factory, White House Black Market, Target, Forever 21 and Loft. One of these days I will do a week or two full of outfits featuring Breton Tees cause I have so many, with short-sleeves, long-sleeves, 3/4-sleeves or elbow sleeves like this one. This tee is a dark navy, very well-made as all cotton and jersey pieces by White House Black Market are, and I love the fun grommet lace detail on the neckline. WHBM is not a cheap place but they have quality pieces, Like this tee was originally $68 (I'd never pay that for a striped tee lol) but I got it for under 20 bucks. And these Silver Patent Leather Loafers I always get compliments on are by Express, super comfy, perfect for work and they always make a statement and get me compliments lol! All of these pieces - pants, tee and shoes - are old (like at least a year) but the Patterned Red Bow Scrunchie is new. It was $1.90 at Forever 21. They have the cutest patriotic bows, headbands and scrunchies currently so grab a few for the 4th. I bought some for me and some for Vivian (some were matchy) and they run between $1.90 to like $5.90. My hair has gotten quite long and I am horrible at styling it. But I have been loving high ponytails and some cute buns lately with bows or cute scrunchies around them. Last but definitely not least - let's talk about the Circle Bag which is also new, courtesy of Elixir Boutique (they sell it for $26). I had been looking for a woven neutral circle bag for about a month and a half or so. Loved the ones that Gap had but it sold so fast. Target had a few but the one I wanted sold out so. Target and Forever 21 still have some very budget-friendly option. This one is very sturdy and besides the handle, also has a long crossbody strap. Now, I am looking for a larger woven circle bag in a softer material, perhaps with some cute embroidery on the front, for no more than 50 bucks! You guys know of any you suggest?!
Last week I was enamored with so many pretty Flowy and fit+flare Dresses that were linked. Lots of cute shorts too and some edgy looks too. Below are my favorites, a couple of new faces, too.
A 'Cactus Dress' for Erika and it is such a cute fit+flare style. I want something cactus this Summer.
Daneel always rocks looks that are both edgy and boho, like this 'Black Peasant Blouse'. And I had to choose one of her gorgeous black+white photos.
Lindsay is wearing a girly 'White Skirt' for Summer. You all know how I feel about pairing white with pale blue. Oh and her bag is exactly like mine from today.
Di shared three amazing outfits of 'Florals in Bloom'. This white laced-neck, handkerchief dress was my favorite. Plus I love with with yellow and blush, so feminine and clean.
Fellow Michigan Blogger Grace is rocking a 3-piece Coral monochromatic shorts' suit she wore for 'Dinner at Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel'. She has legs for days in this.
My friend Kristin was 'Exploring Sicily' in the prettiest gingham dress. Love the shoot by the stairs.
You can currently see this outfit LIVE as I wore it yesterday, on my Instagram Stories.
The red pants are a fun pop of color. I also love any type of striped shirt because they're just so easy to style!
