Moda part 2: My Annual Blog Birthday Party - Vixenish in Color.

MY  ANNUAL  BLOG  BIRTHDAY  PARTY, part  2.

Today is May 4th which also means it is my birthday and I turn 38 years young. I have never been one to hide my age and you know what, I am pretty sure that when I switch digits and turn 40 in a couple of years, I will embrace that age and a new decade in my life, just like I do each year. If you stopped by my blog yesterday, you saw that it was a Special Thursday Moda as it is my annual blog birthday party where I invite a bunch of my blogging friends to celebrate in style, with me - a tradition I started in 2013 and here we are in 2018! Yesterday I also mentioned all the downs and thunderstorms that the past year has brought in my life. But you know what, there has been so much good too. There has been lots of love, everyday hugs and kisses from Vivian, a job that I can live and support myself and my daughter with, a big cozy home I get to share with my lovely parents too, awesome home-made dinners by my mom, etc. etc. There has been gratitude and grace, kindness and thoughtfulness, bright sunny days and beautiful snow days, too. And since today is a new day and technically the start of a brand-new year for me, I don't want to dwell on the negative, rather on the positive. It is Friday after all, the weekend is here and later I will be eating cake!

And today on part two of my Fabulously-Stylish Blog Birthday Party I decided to style a skirt, and this Hot Pink Wool Tulip Pencil Skirt is my favorite skirt I purchased this year in 2018. This year I asked all of my fellow lady friends to style skirts and dresses, so I did the samemyself: dress yesterday and a skirt today. Yesterday it was all about Sweet Pastel Girly Ruffles and today is all about looking a little Vixenish in lots of Color. Because my style is ever-changing and not always the same. I evolve and grow each year just like the addition of wrinkles on my face or gray hairs on my head, my style is also evolving, growing and ever-changing!

VIXENISH  IN  COLOR.
I mentioned above that this Hot Pink Tulip Pencil Skirt is my favorite skirt I bought this year (from Loft). For the first time I wore it to work on Valentine's day this year paired with red and blogged it here. This time around for a fun birthday celebration look, I wanted to take the skirt into nighttime and date night or going out territory, so I paired it with this Fun Brown+Teal Leopard-Print Silk Bustier I have had in my closet for years, my Royal Blue Fun Suede Pumps by Nine West (also several years old) and this Soft Yellow Woven Designer Cluch/Wristlet I have also owned for many years. The Multi-Colored Mirrored Sunglasses by Loft pick up all the colors in this outfit and those are some fun Gold-Tone Metallic Statement Earrings by Loft. I did wear this outfit with a different top (but everything else the same) this past Monday to work, and I cannot wait to blog that look too. While I have not worn this exact outfit in real life, I do think it is proper for tonight to go out in. It is all fun, bold, sexy and super colorful. As you all know I love color. So why not go a little Vixenish in Color when you can?! Perfect for a party or a birthday! I love it! What about you?! Now let's look at the eleven fabulous ladies who are joining me today for part 2 of my celebration. So many gorgeous dresses, today!

We will start today's Birthday Blog Party with my fellow Eastern European beauty BOJANA from Bo's Bodacious Blog who lives in Canada. Her style is so put together and her little girls are beautiful and stylish too, like their mom. I love Bojana's Classy yet Sexy Black Pumps.
"Hi everyone.  It's Bojana from bosbodaciousblog.  Today I am styling a pencil skirt to channel some of my favorite intelligent, witty, and sexy TV characters.  Hop on over to my blog to find out more."

BROOKE from Pumps and Pushups is my favorite petite blogger. Her lifestyle blog is one of the best out there because it features her casual yet super chic style, her sweet little boys, her home, her exercising and much more. She is super sweet, too and looks lovely in this beautiful navy eyelet dress.
"I'm so excited to be celebrating Ada's birthday with her! Although we're celebrating virtually, I'm sharing what I would wear if we were partying in person - this classic eyelet dress. I shared it on my blog already, but it's the perfect dress for summer and can be worn so many different ways. I think it will end up being my favorite thing to wear this summer."

CHERYL from Cheryl Shops is one of my newest blogger friends but we hit it off and just 2 weeks ago she co-hosted Thursday Moda with me, too. Her Californian style is breezy and beautiful, mixing expensive designer pieces with low-end brands like Zara and H+M and she did exactly that in this elegant outfit today. Love her new skirt and pumps.
"I own way too many skirts, but when I saw this one, I couldn't resist it. The shape is really flattering, the length is perfect, and I'm a sucker for pale pink. I styled it with a navy blazer, because navy and pink are so good together, and my new favorite shoes, which I purchased after consuming three glasses of wine, whoops! I thought you'd like this one, Ada, because it's feminine and elegant, just like you! Happy birthday in advance!"

I could easily write this entire post about my dearest friend CHRISSY from Granola and Grace. This gorgeous boys' mama and I have known each-other virtually for about a year now but we clicked right away. We chat daily and video-call each other often. I trust her with my heart and she has helped me through some storms I have had in my life in the past year. Plus her casual style is the cutest but I must say her floral dress today is stunning on her and my favorite outfit from this entire group of ladies.
“What a pleasure it is join in and celebrate sweet Ada’s birthday in such a fashionably, fabulous fiesta! 😉 Ada is one of the beauties who drew me in and encouraged me to link up and be inspired by other bloggers! Now I’m blessed to know so many other beautiful and uplifting women such as yourselves!! The happiest of birthdays to you Ada! Wishing you the best.”

There isn't much the lovely KATHRINE from Kathrine Eldridge cannot wear. Her outfits inspire me! She is a personal stylist with a style of her own. She is always graceful, modern, classy, sexy and trendy but classic. I love how she styled her Flared LBD and those mules!
"I went with a flirty LBD that I have had in my closet for a while and added a floral bomber to make it new and fresh. Since we are finally in warmer weather, I threw on colorful suede mules. The fringe pendant necklace and vintage Gucci clutch polish the look off. I call this outfit Spring Forward LBD. Lol!"

This is the third time (if I remember correctly) that the always-colorful, girly and preppy KATIE from Hello Katie Girl participates in my birthday parties. Her style is so bright, fun and cheerful and I always want ALL of her beautiful bags (she owns so many gorgeous designer bags), stunning skirts and super-cute shoes. This Kelly Green dress is lovely on her and you can count on Katie for the best backgrounds and she always finds the most fun walls to shoot in front of.
"Going green for Ada's Birthday bash this year! Happy Birthday Ada and thanks for hosting this fantastic party!"

I consider myself lucky and grateful to have a blogging friend like KELLYANN from This Blonde's Shopping Bag. Her personality and heart is as sunny as beautiful Florida and she always looks fantastic in red. In our last collaboration together she also wore another red off-shoulder dress. Loving this one today and she went all out with the Happy Birthday balloon too - thank you my sweet friend!
"I’ve had this dress for awhile now but I’ve been waiting for just the right time to wear it. A birthday celebration is the perfect occasion! Off the shoulder and bright red says let’s celebrate!

This pretty girl is about to walk down the aisle soon. So choosing this Dressy Fit+Flare Soft Pink Dress today, was the best choice as a bride. Plus MICHELLE from Michelle's Pa(i)ge always looks so put together not just in her many dresses but in all her casual looks, too.
"One of the first warm days of the season, you know I couldn't wait to pull out one of my dresses!"

MONICA from Jersey Girl, Texan Heart has celebrated my birthday on my blog a few other years too. She pulls off edgy looks so well - like today too, rocking the fedora and those fun laceup booties. She is also an advocate for the Epilepsy disease she has to deal with in her daily life. Her friendship means a lot to me!
"Lately I've been living life either in my work clothes or super casual. This is the perfect flannel dress to look cute but still be comfortable. I styled it with my new favorite Hunter shoes from the Hunter x Target collab. I wanted to say a huge Happy Birthday to Ada, and thanks for letting me be a part of this!"

I welcomed NANCY from Nancy's Fashion Style again this year as she joined my blog birthday bash last year, also. Just like Suzy from yesterday's birthday post she styled a striped skirt with red booties which resulted in such a fun, dressy yet semi-casual outfit with her fun cropped leather jacket. IRL, Nancy always wears many skirts and dresses so I figured this wouldn't be a 'challenge' at all lol. Actually she just purchased her very first pair of jeans, recently.
"I’m so happy to join Ada and her amazing blogger friends to celebrate her Birthday! Happy Birthdate dearest Ada, I wish you a fabulous day!"

Last but not least one of my oldest friends WHITNEY from Whitney à la Mode joins this year's birthday bash again. I actually met Whitney 3 years ago, she is a fellow Michigander who teaches French. Unfortunately we live pretty far but I hope I can meet her again this Summer. She is sweet, kind, darling and super stylish too and I have been a huge supporter and follower of her blog going on about 5 years, now.
"If you've spent much time at Whitney à la mode, you know that I absolutely love dresses and skirts so I always enjoy participating in Ada's birthday posts. It's finally warmed-up enough in Michigan to enjoy my favorite spring dresses.  I'm loving this striped number (let's face it, I love anything striped), plus it's super comfy.  Paired with some neutral wedges and maybe a denim jacket, it's perfect for a day at work or an evening on a patio with a cold drink."

Thank you once again to all of these fashionistas I am lucky to call my blogging friends, who joined me yesterday and today for my Annual Blog Birthday Party! Here is to another year of great health, happy smiles and fabulous outfits! Cheers and Happy 38th Birthday to Me!!
Have a Fabulous Weekend!!

  2. Happy birthday Ada! If you were closer, I'd give you a giant hug. Over the past year of getting to read your blog, I have come to know that you love your daughter more than anything. I see the way she lights up your life and I predict a close bond between the two of you as she grows up. I also have come to appreciate you as a strong woman. Just as you mentioned today, you embrace your age and I fully respect that. Though I believe woman can choose how they want to deal with aging as they wish, I am more of a natural aging mama myself. I also don't photoshop my photos, rather they are what they are and I am who I am. Have a wonderful weekend and know you are in my thoughts. XOXO Bojana
