Thursday Moda # 106: Jeans and Sweaters.

HAPPY  THURSDAY  YOU  ALL!!
Today, myself and my lovely co-host SUZY from Suzy Turner are styling jeans and sweaters, which is perfect as we are about to say Farewell (hopefully) to this Winter which has been long and very cold to say the least. This is also perfect for both Suzy and myself because we both wear a lot of sweaters and jeans (especially skinny jeans). Suzy who is a novelist and has published 12 novels - I did not now that fact until recently but so super cool!! - is also a yoga teacher with a very casual, laid-back style. She also rocks layers and always wears the cutest coats and scarves. She lives in Portugal but was recently in USA for vacation. She styled her Skinny Jeans with a Babydoll Floral Dress and her sweater is a Navy Cardigan over the dress. Love her fun Suede Combat Boots. While I wore Distressed Skinnies and styled them with an Off-Shoulder Cream Sweater with a Fuchsia Bralette peaking through one of the shoulders.

BUSTED-KNEE  JEANS  AND  OFF-SHOULDER  SWEATER.
Vivian wanted to get in the action as I was taking my OOTD photos. She is rocking her Pastels.
I wanted a pair of Busted-Knee Skinny Blue Jeans and I found the perfect ones at the perfect price too. My Jeans are by Abercrombie and Fitch - a store I hadn't shopped in ages and never really shop much, but they had cute stuff and several of it was perfect for laid-back, busy, casual mom days. My jeans are a size 27 and have a lot of stretch. I wish I had gotten the 26 - especially with my weight loss. They fit a little big and I have to pull them sometimes, but in general they fit nicely and look great. I love that they just have the distressing/holes in the knees and the wash is this perfect medium-wash blue. I paired them with this Cream (almost blush) Off-Shoulder Sweater which is a tunic length and it is by Loft. The bottom of the sleeves are fitted and have several mini satin buttons on the sleeves which is a neat detail. It can be worn off-shoulder, slightly off one side which I did here or as a cowl-neck. I wore it slightly off-shoulder and had my Fuchsia Bralette strap peak out from the left shoulder. I accessorized very simply with this the Leopard Mini Crossbody (which can also be worn as a wallet or a clutch, minus the strap) and two cocktail rings. I love how the Oval Pearl Ring matches the little satin buttons. Kept the look monochromatic with my Faux Suede Peep-Toe Ghilly Heeled Sandals by Target. Last but not least a little mascara coat and a nude lip and I was done. I ended up loving this simple but chic and put-together look and how I styled my Off-Shoulder Cream Sweater. What about you?!

Last week you all loved my very colorful outfit featuring a Golden Mustard Velvet Blazer and a Gold Pave Bow Brooch. Thank you for that. You also loved the post which I dedicated to all women in honor of International Women's Day. There were close to 100 outfits linked and lots of you were thinking Spring, especially in terms of light colors and light layers, floral - lots of it, and pretty dresses that would work for Easter, too. My featured ladies are mostly blondes today and two of them are wearing such pretty floral dresses too. But I must say -- I love the culotte outfit, too.

This week's featured blogger is none other than the extremely stylish, classy and modern KATHRINE of Kathrine Eldridge who is a personal stylist and very successful blogger from one of my favorite and most fashion-forward cities - Chicago. Kathrine shared this Japanese-Inspired Fit+Flare Floral Dress in the most beautiful red floral print who looks stunning against the icy blue background. She kept it simple and 100 classic with a skinny black belt, black pumps and minimal jewelry. Kathrine's blog is a daily read for me for close 3 years now. She can wear anything and she has the luxury to do so as a personal shopper and stylist. She also offers those services to her clients through her blog. Make sure you check her out. Kathrine rocks!

Nicole talked about 'Networking and What Not to Post' as she continues her series on blogging tips. But I loved her heather blue peplum sleeve dress with matching statement necklace + bauble earrings.
Grey never goes unnoticed by me since it is my favorite neutral and Dawn Lucy is wearing 50 shades of it but my favorite grey piece she has on, are the 'Windowpane Crops'. She is Tres Chic for sure!
Ashley's gold sequined dress, hair jewelry, moto jacket and metallic stilettos ensemble have burlesque, 20s retro and edgy mixed in. She looked stunning for 'Take Five'.
Andrea's 'Spring Floral' dress in millennial pink would be perfect for Easter Sunday at church and a cute brunch after. She is adorable.

Thursday Moda's Co-Host: Suzy Turner.
Today's Thursday Moda Co-Host is the Stylish European Babe and Talented Book-Writer and Novelist, SUZY from Suzy Turner. Suzy recently redesigned her blog and and I love her little catch-phrase "Pixie Gal in Portugal", which is suiting not only because it describes who she is, but it rhymes too and it is perfect for Suzy who happens to be a writer and published author. When I selected my favorite 3 recent outfits of her (below) I noticed how much she loves colors and patterns for Winter, just like myself. I would wear all of these outfits below just as they are.

From Suzy's Mouth:
"www.suzyturner.com is a lifestyle and 40+ style blog following my adventures in my home region of the Algarve as well as in the UK and around the world (whenever I get the chance to go on holiday!). I aim to inspire women over the age of 40 to be stylish, healthy, and above all, to have fun. I am also a yoga teacher and author, having published twelve novels. I was born in England and raised in Portugal, and I live with my childhood sweetheart Michael, our two crazy dogs and three adorable kittens.

  1. Ada – I'm so honoured to be your co-host today!! I LOVE your outfit – it's exactly my kind of style, and I would wear it in a second. The cute bra strap beneath the sweater adds a touch of cheekiness which I just adore, and the boots and sweater are gorgeous! Those jeans from Abercrombie and Fitch are perfect too!!
Thank you again, for inviting me to your co-host, Ada, and for writing such lovely things about me! I really am thrilled.

  5. Ada, you are definitely one-of-a-kind. I've never heard anyone refer to distressed denim as "busted knee jeans" before. That's awesome. Good description. I love your sweater. The neckline is so stunning. I looks so cozy and comfy too. Love the bag. And I'm happy to see another fashion blogger still showing winter fashion as I am.
