The First Day of Spring.
Happy First Day of Spring! This is a very belated post today but I have had quite a day (though most of it was great!!). I hope your first day of Spring was spectacular! Today I am sharing this outfit from a few weeks ago when it felt like the first official day of Spring here for us, in Michigan. It is truly THE OUTFIT to share this Tuesday. I wore it on what felt like the first day of Spring weather, because the temperatures, for the first time this year, got in the 50s and it drizzled and rained mostly all day. Between all the rain and the pretty warm temps, all of our big snow (at least 4-5 inches) completely melted away. And I was comfortable enough to wear a Light Dress with bare legs and just my Blanket Scarf on top as a cover-up instead of a jacket or coat.
THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING OUTFIT.
There are several elements that make this outfit perfect for the first day of Spring or to transition from cold Winter into somewhat warmish Spring. First of all I am wearing a Long-Sleeve Shirtdress. Shirdresses with sleeves for me, are great to wear for Spring. This one is Springy because of the light material and all the beautiful Turquoise+White Embroidery which strikes into the Brick Red Color of the dress. And those Long Tasseled Ties on the neckline definitely symbolize warm weather too. But to be fair to the weather I added a Colorblocked Blanket Scarf over my dress to keep warm both outside and inside at work. I believe blanket scarves are great to continue wearing now as a topper or third layering piece over your outfits, when you want to skip a jacket or when the weather allows you to. I love that the colors of this blanket scarf match ALL the colors of the dress, including the embroidered motif. Also, another great piece to transition as far as shoes go, are short little booties. Swap your knee-high or over-the-knee boots for booties or mid-calf boots. Of course you can also start wearing more loafers, pumps, a few open-toe shoes/booties, ballet flats and espadrille flats. Spring is a great season for mules, too. At the end of the day I love that this outfit felt put-together, elegant, dressy and pretty even-though it is totally casual too and with Bohemian vibes.

I know, I love it too. It was originally an 89$ dress but I got it for arounf 13$ last Summer, at Loft.
DeleteHow fun is this look, Ada?? You know I love boho and this dress should get in my closet. ;) I like the mules you paired with the dress, as well as the blanket scarf. Red is great on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much my Bohemian Princess. This is great coming for you. I am wearing very short booties though, not bootie mules. And I also love red on me. This is more of a brick-red but still. =))
DeleteYou always put together such a colorful and fun outfit, Ada!! I love this!!

ReplyDeleteAda, I love the boho vibes and red is so, so good on you! We also had a week of spring like weather that has since disappeared and we are back to bitter cold! I am so tired of being cold! You look fabulous as always, my friend.
