Red and Navy Floral Beauty.
Guys, I have been feeling like shit, lately. Sorry, to start this post as a Debbie Downer, by the way. So, I was sick like 2-2.5 weeks ago, it went gradually from sneezing to coughing, to coughing harder, to more runny nose business, sore throat and even fever 3 days later. I was able to fight it without any meds. But our weather has been freezing early mornings and evenings and it can get between 40-45 degrees during the day and when the sun is shining, it feels warmer. So yeah, the last couple of days I have been feeling under the weather too. Between the feeling sick and working full-time each week (I am always super busy) and of course the daytime light savings time switch, taking photos and blog-posting has definitely taken a back-seat. What makes it worse is that the last few days, my face has been breaking out lately. I am talking pimples, zits and such and of course it doesn't make me want to go near a camera. This is not the norm for me (one or two of these may be cold sores) because in my thirty-some years of living, I have never had any major problems with my skin. I rarely get pimples or break out and I was fortunate enough to have clear skin as a teenager too.
Anyhow, I still have a ton of outfits I have photographed and never blogged. The one today is a month and a half old (since late September) but I have been meaning to post it, plus I love this dress and how I styled it. And I actually wore this same dress to work last Monday but with Semi-Opaque Black Tights and a Long Cozy Cardigan over it. I love how the Fun Silver Ring Necklace looked last time so I added the same necklace to it and some other (less bold) Statement Earrings. I also wore my Black Wayfarer Raybans with the outfit I described and some Black Kitten Heel Booties. So picture this dress with the items I described it with and wear this type of outfit if you are invited somewhere for Thanksgiving dinner. This time (blog outfit from today), I decided to wear the dress with my Nude Espadrille Wedge Sandals from last Summer 2016 (purchased at Target) and since it was in the late 60s, I figured I could wear some damn espadrille sandals one more time.
THE DRESS.

So, in one of my (very many) Loft trips about a year ago, I found this gorgeous Peplum-Hem Floral Dress that was returned and it was on final sale. I had missed out on this pretty dress - I remembered I loved the peplum hem, the full sleeves and the fact that the floral print was large and bold. Plus I thought the colors - Red, Navy, Magenta and Grey - were perfect year around. Anyhow this dress is a size M and I usually wear a S in Loft Dresses, sometimes even an XS. I don't think it is huge on me but I definitely would have preferred the small size, had I had the option of buying it. The only thing about this one, is that it looks a tad big sideways as it is a loose-fit and I look like I am expecting, on my second trimester, if you see me on this dress from the side. I definitely feel the smaller size would have solved this problem but I did love this one and I paid about 25 bucks for a beautiful dress of great quality. As I mentioned above, this dress would be perfect to wear for Thanksgiving because you can eat all the food you want plus it is pretty and dressy. I will wear/style this again for Winter and I do think it makes a great holiday dress, too. Loft always has these type of dresses each season, I am talking ruffles and flounce and pretty floral prints. I scored two great similar, long-sleeve floral dresses from Loft which were on clearance just recently, for under 30 bucks each. Below is a widget featuring similar dresses like mine, all lovely and all under $75.00.
I am obsessed with the Sugarfix by Baublebar line at Target. It is beautiful, bold, trendy and bauble-y (see what I did there?!) I particularly love their earrings. Plus their jewelry is beautiful and a great quality for a great price. If you want to add some new baubles for any of your holiday events or to add some sparkle to your outfits, check out Sugarfix at Target and you won't be disappointed. For those who know me well, they know that I love a good pair of earrings: studs, tassels, hoops, dangly or statement earrings, I feel naked without a pair of earrings on. My ear holes will attest to that, I promise lol. My gorgeous fun earrings in lime green, silver and turquoise stones are from the Sugarfix line but from early Summer, however this pair, this pair and these are similar and all super gorgeous. I also added my Silver Ring Pendant Necklace which I have had for about 7 or 8 years and it is from White House Black Market - still one of my most favorite necklaces. Lastly, I have on two Cocktail Rings. The Pearl+Crystal, Pave, Flower Ring I have also had for about a decade and it is from Banana Republic. By the way, I always love the jewelry at WHBM and BR. The other ring that says USA was actually part of a little plastic ring bag from the dollar store. I went out with Vivian that day and she picked out that ring cause she said it was fun and matched the colors of my dress.

So sorry you haven't been feeling well! I can definitely relate to the cycle of getting sick and run down and then sick again, and the short days compounding with cold weather make it easy to put the blog on the back burner.
ReplyDeleteBut at least you've got some back log of photos and are looking adorable in that bright fun print.
