The Perfect Summer Sweater from Day to Evening (Looks 11+12).
As you all know I chose 30 items to remix for a capsule wardrobe. In those items I decided to include a pair of White Skinny Jeans as well as a Summer Sweater. I only really recognized the importance of a Summer sweater only about two years ago when I picked a light knit soft mint sweater. I think light sweaters like this are perfect for those 60 to 75 degree days. It can rain and get windy too which it did the day I wore this and the highest temp was only 73 degrees Fahrenheit but it did get down to 64 by the evening. Plus light sweaters and light knit cardigans are perfect for Summer when you go out to dinner, the movies, or the opera, a concert, shopping at the mall, grocery store shopping, brunch, etc. All of these places crack up the AC so it gets cool inside. This year I found this Gorgeous Navy Flutter Sleeve Sweater from Loft and I do think it is the perfect Summer sweater so of course I included it in my capsule. I picked up two other Summer Sweaters from Loft and if you haven't checked them out lately, you should - I want EVERYTHING. I also wanted to add a pair of Slightly-Distressed White Skinny Jeans to my closet and last year I found this pair (never blogged before) by the Sky+Belle brand at JC Penney - which is a great brand I must add. Enter them into my remix capsule for this Summer because white jeans go with everything. This pair is thick enough that it is not see-through and the perfect distressing that even some casual offices will allow them. I thought it is important, especially during a capsule remix, to be able to wear the same outfit for two different events/times of the day so I challenged myself to wear this outfit from day to evening and let my accessories make the right and necessary changes.
Since 4th of July is right around the corner and I wore white and navy each time, I wanted to incorporate a little red into both of my outfits. For daytime I wore this outfit paired with my Beaded Pom Pom Sandals, a Patent Leather Baby Blue Tote and a Simple Dainty Flamingo Necklace. I pulled my hair in my mini pony-tail and added some Mirrored Marble Sunglasses. But what I loved most about how this outfit turned out was the last-minute addition I did by adding my Navy+White Striped Gold-Tone Belt with the Skinny Bow. It defined my waist, made the sweater look super cute and as if the belt was a part of it and added to that nautical, relaxed and cool beachy Californian-inspired look which I love to achieve so often like I did here. Now for evening time we went out for dinner and I re-found these Gold Studded Wedge Mules in my closet and I am so glad I did because they are so in this season. Just like my beaded bright sandals you will be seeing these gold mules a lot this Summer. Instead of one of my typical clutches, I carried a Fun See-Through Lucite Neon Clutch that says "Stuff" perfect for me to fit my phone, some money, ID, a debit card, a lipstick, some gum and even my small camera. My Neon Orange Sunnies matched that adorable mini clutch perfectly and were the perfect color pops in an otherwise neutral outfit. I jazzed up the look with a Fun Gold-Tone Chevron Necklace (matching my gold mules) and some Long Tassel Earrings also in baby blue and navy and I was ready to head out the door. So, with that said is my daytime or my evening look your favorite and why?! I think I like the day look a tiny bit more. Do you own a Navy Summer Sweater and if so, how do you wear it?!
