Thursday Moda #62 and Birthday Blog Party pt. 1.

Once upon a time, about a year after I started my blog, I decided (for fun) to do a Blog Birthday Party here on my space on the web. It started back in 2013 when my daughter was born and perhaps I started it because I was in a rut as a new mom with many sleepless nights and usually my style was very casual and very comfortable so dressing up for my birthday (for the blog) felt right. And I felt like me - since I love dresses first and foremost and everyone knows how much I love dressing up. This is the 5th year I am continuing this tradition with my Blog Birthday Party, where besides myself I gather several of my blogging buddies and fashionistas I admire and we dress up as if we were all attending my birthday. Over the last three years or so, the party has extended two days, usually on my birthday eve - May 3rd, and the day of my birthday - May 4th. Today I got 10 of my blogging friends joining me for a celebration and tomorrow I will have 10 more (check them all out below below)! You can also visit last year's Birthday Blog Celebration posts here and here.

Look at my little beauty posing!! Ahhhhh I die. P.S. She chose her own entire outfit, herself. =)
And since it is my birthday, I am launching the linkup a day early, on Tuesday eve instead of Wednesday eve, because tomorrow I am joining my friends JILL from Doused in Pink and CARRIE from Curly Crafty Mom as the co-host for their Thursday Fashion Files. So it is Thursday Moda day over here and for my birthday I asked the ladies to style a dress that has been in their closet for at least two years and I did the same. This dress has been in my closet for a decade. It is 100% silk chiffon (with a cotton underlay) and it is by Arden B. I love all the black framing on the dress which is in satin so I decided to cinch the waist with a Black Satin Belt (also old from several years ago, from The Limited). But when I took the photos I realized how far down this belt had slipped. I decided to pair it with Black Tights first and foremost because I wore this to work the other day and this LWD is a little too short and sometimes feels a little see-through for work, plus it was chilly out especially in the morning. But with the tights I also wanted to play the black part of the dress and create a retro feminine outfit. I did add some red accents though since the rest of the outfit is Black+White. The Red Heart Crossbody has been in my closet since January while the Orange-Red Suede Pumps are from Spring 2016. The White Mesh Bow Barrette is actually my daughter's but since it was white and had a big flower stone in the middle, I saw it suitable with the dress and pave belt. To bring this dress more into 2017 I added some Tassel Earrings and mine are also black and white. What do you think?! I am on the fence about keeping or getting rid of this dress, should I keep it?!

I do apologize about all the wrinkles on the dress. The photos were shot after a full day of work and Vivian is simply wearing what she had on for the day. She wanted pictures with mommy lol. I love how she is posing in some of them though and even carrying her princess book purse.
