Thursday Moda #54: March 8th, Marigold and Mimosas.

Happiest Thursday Guys!
I originally had planned another outfit for Thursday Moda (tomorrow) which would feature some more beautiful florals and some green, since we are expecting Saint Patrick's and all. However, due to me running super behind and late all day, today, I haven't had time to edit the photos or anything. The fact that I worked almost all day and our power being on and off due to terrible winds didn't help matters. So instead, I am adding the linkup to today's (Wednesday's post).

So, anyway, why did I title this post "March 8th, Marigold and Mimosas". It refers to March 8th being International Women's Day and growing up in Albania, half of my life, it was a holiday for the women there. Since we didn't know about or celebrated Mother's Day in May, March 8th was usually reserved for our mothers and grandmothers. The flower of Mimosa (if you don't know what they are, read this post), was the traditional flower that were reserved for both teachers (Albanian's National Teachers' Day is on March 7th) and mothers (March 8th) for these two holidays. Mimosas are these gorgeous bright yellow flowers that smell so good and symbolize Spring. They also come in Lavender, by the way. I, of course am wearing a Pretty Floral Marigold Peplum Top and I particularly 'reserved' this outfit for my post today because this top reminds me of the Mimosas we are used to on International Women's Day which is today on March 8th. Better yet, I am featuring my most favorite little woman in today's post - my daughter Vivian! My bright yellow floral top is the prettiest bouquet of Mimosas (metaphorically) style-wise. I love that I added more Floral with my Blue Mesh Floral Slip-On Sneakers. What do you think of this outfit? Have you ever paired marigold, rust, blue and navy before?!

I wore this outfit towards the middle of February on a warm-ish Saturday I spent out and about with my daughter, in Milford. This is the only photo of the two of us together, a passing-by stranger took of us. I wish all the photos of my OOTD were taken somewhere in beautiful Milford. As you can tell there is a gorgeous little waterfall there, too. Vivian didn't really want photos that day though. I must say, yes it was very sunny, but it was also quite windy. I am glad we got this one shot (above) together, though.

Over one hundred of you linked up last week, a few of you for the very first time. I am working on organizing and saving all your e-mail addresses in a folder so I can start sending reminder e-mails on Wednesdays. It is a job that I started a couple of weeks ago and fell behind because it is very time-consuming and thorough. I will get there soon, I promise. For now, take a peek at my favorites from last week. Four words: cold-shoulder dresses, pretty shoes, neutrals and skinny jeans.
Today's Featured Blogger is ALICIA from Between the Pearls, a 20-something bride to be who loves neutrals and budget clothes. Both outfits she linked up last week showed that too. She wore not one but two very pretty cold-shoulder dresses. The LBD with the long sleeves is very suitable for March and for the office, since the open shoulder cut-outs are subtle and especially paired with those stunning python loafers - office perfection. While the LWD which features a fabulous asymmetric style with short sleeves, is more suited for warm sunny days and the tropics (like the photos Alicia shared wearing such a pretty dress). She paired the white dress with gorgeous red shoes that stood out. Besides the pretty shoes that accompanied each dress, she chose the right purses and the right statement earrings for each dress. Besides these two outfits which I love, I noticed a pretty half-sideway 'signature' pose of Alicia (see my collage, right above). This girl certainly is stylish, knows how to pose and has gorgeous hair too.

'Grey Bell-Sleeves' matched gorgeous grey suede lace-up pumps and Sarah Bell is dressed up while being casual, also.
Andrea has 'Spring Fever' with her beautiful raspberry blouse featuring a choker neckline. And of course, it is from my favorite store - Target.
Jaymie slayed them 'Up North' (if you are from Michigan, you know what we mean) in her chic black+white outfit with a multi-layered necklace and fun leather earrings.
Leanne's 'Instagram Lately' is filled with chic every day looks, but I am crushing on this one featuring pale colors like white, nude and baby blue.

Last but not least, I wanted to let you know that I am looking for co-hosts for Thursday Moda. It is a great way to promote your blog, add readers, discover new bloggers you'll love and it is all FREE for you. Let me know if you are interested and we can e-mail one another.
