A Day of Silence and Mourning.
I almost always keep things light and joyous on this blog. Many times I even feel vain, like most of style bloggers do. I mean, I post pictures of myself and I talk about clothes and fashion most of the times. But I am a human being and I am a mother and believe me when I tell you that brutal crimes, murder and especially tragic acts of terrorism completely affect me like they should any human being. As I am typing this, I actually have tears in my eyes. I figured since it is Sunday and also the day God created as the day or rest, also known as church day, I take this Sunday to reflect on the latest very tragic mass murders and bombings that happened less than 48 hours ago, in Paris, France. Today is the day to stay silent, pray and mourn for all those innocent lives lost, not only recently in Paris but in other countries too, like Syria and Beirut. Below is what I posted on my Facebook page yesterday morning (including the photo of France's flag).
"I have lived each half of my life between two countries+two continents and I have visited over a dozen of other countries and states. For all of these, I consider myself lucky and feel blessed to have dual citizenship. In many ways, I consider myself a Citizen of the World. And as a Citizen of the World, I support France and I feel their pain and loss.
What happened in France yesterday filled me with angst, sadness, hurt and tears. I feel for the country, for the loss of all those people, for the families of the victims and for the innocent lives that were taken away due to acts of terrorism. Today and always, both as an Albanian and as an American, I stay united with the rest of the world in honoring France. With that said, I am so proud to be an American and that this country is 100% on France's side and supports France to its fullest.
God Bless the World. God Bless France. And may God stop Terrorism!!!"
I followed by posting another picture whose message says it all.
These are my feelings exactly. We should not just pray for Paris. We should pray for the whole world. A world is shattered and shaken when any and all crimes, brutal killings, serial murders and terrorist attacks happen daily, unfortunately. Let's pray for the world. God help us all! Peace to the World!! *A minute of silence*
So very true.

I like that last image, one of my friends shared that. There is so much evil in this world. There is a lot of good too, but at times like these it seems harder to find. I don't have the answer, I don't think anyone does, but all we can keep doing is keep showing good and kindness and love where we can, and change the parts of the world we can.
ReplyDeleteThank for this most sensitive post, Ada!
