Pineapples, Stars and Stripes.

Trends come and go and get revived. They get twisted, changed or modernized a bit as time goes on. This year we saw pineapples and flamingos everywhere as the "IT" patterns of 2015. But, wait a minute, my embroidered lavender shorts with navy pineapples were purchased in the Summer of 2013 from Old Navy. As a matter of fact I bought flamingo-embroidered shorts from there also, 2 years ago. And, as I dug into my closet later this Summer I also found a pineapple tote bag and a woven little pineapple purse, both of which I bought years ago. So, my point is, before you jump in to buy the newest trend: check your closet first. You might be able to shop your closet for free, rather that spend some money on the latest fad, out there.
Earlier this Summer, I paired my Lavender with Navy Pineapples Shorts with another pattern: a Striped Navy+Silver Tee. Silver with Lavender and Navy with Lavender are great color combos. I wore my American Flag Loafers also and to add more patriotic colors to my look, I added a Long White+Silver Beaded Bracelet, Red+Turquoise Bracelets and a Red Headband. Without the Statement Sneakers and the Jewelry, this outfit would have been just a pair of shorts and a simple t-shirt. The result  was a simple but thought-out casual look to run errands in. This outfit is the great weekend wear, especially with a little bit of Patriotism thrown in, perfect for this upcoming Labor Day Weekend. As a matter of fact this outfit was worn on a weekend, so I am linking up with "The Creative Closet" for the "Perfect Weekend Wear".

How did I style these Shorts? Next Friday I will show you another way I have worn them this Summer, so stay tuned. =) And Thank you for reading. Happy Friday!!
Silver Tone, Doouble-stranded Long Necklace w/ White & Clear Stones: The Limited (similar, on sale), (similar in white+gold beads by WHBM, best deal, love this), (similar multi-stranded option by RJ Graziano, great deal, my favorite).
Red Twisted Elastic Headband: Jumbo.

P.S. Also linking up with Adri with Jessica, Alice, Allison, Birdie, Christie, Claire, Dawn, Heather,
I am passing on Stripes from this outfit for "Blogging Besties".
Last but not least I am linking up with Ana Maria with Michelle for their Monday Link-up,
which next week's prompt is "Stripes".
