The Academy Awards 2015's Best Dressed.
The 87th Annual Oscars were on last night on February 22nd. I did not watch the show and I do not plan on watching all of it in its entirety. But I did see a red carpet show (earlier today) and some snippets from the different acceptances of the awards. As always, the A-Glam Hollywood Squad came out in full force. Below I listed pretty much ALL of my Favorite Looks. I noticed a lot og White and Metallic Gowns in Gold and Silver as the biggest trends this year. Of course there were several ladies opting for Black or Red Gowns which are always 2 strong colors when it comes to the Oscars. There were some big mistakes also, as usual with any award show. But I am focusing on the Good, the Glamorous and the Gorgeous. I guess if I had to choose a Top 5 from all the gorgeous gowns below, the 5 Looks I listed (first) would be my top 5 picks. Which were your Top 3 Looks from this year's Oscars and what else did you like from the Live Show?
Emma Stone in Elie Saab.
Emma Stone has rarely made any fashion mistakes, at least not on the red carpet. For the past 5 years now, she is always one of my favorites on the red carpet. This Kiwi Metallic Beaded Gown was one of a kind and made a statement. I love the sheer panels and that thigh-high slit. I also love that it has sleeves.
Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab.
Most of Jennifer's red carpet Oscar Looks have always been winners. This is by far the best gown she has worn in the recent couple of years. The blush color, beaded detail and low-cut V make it feminine, sexy and super glam.
Naomi Watts in Armani Prive.
Naomi's Gown is a mix between a Column Fitted Style and Gorgeous Mermaid Inspiration. It is modern, sexy, fun and unique. Love her hair and makeup, also.
Rosamund Pike in Givenchy.
This was my favorite red gown worn this year at the Oscars. It is like a bouquet of red roses. I love that Rosamund kept her makeup so simple and au naturel and put her hair up in a simple bun. She lets this red gown shine and pairs it with matching stilettos.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Zuhair Murad.
What a sexy, tall, sophisticated beauty Jenna is. This white gown has a little bit of everything: beaded detail, crystal belt, down-to-there V-neck and a train. She accessorized it with a geometric-shaped silver clutch which I love. Her diamond cuff and diamond statement earrings were also gorgeous.
Here are the rest of the Glamourous, Pretty Gowns from the 87th Academy Awards. Enjoy!!
Kerry Washington in Miu Miu.
Jessica Chastain in Custom Givenchy.
Laura Dern in Alberta Ferretti.
Anna Faris in Zuhair Murad.
Jennifer Hudson in Romona Keveza.
Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent.
Jennifer Aniston in Versace.
Anna Kendrick in Custom Thakoon.
Julianne Moore in Chanel.
Behati Prinsloo in Armani Couture.
Cate Blanchett in Maison Margiela Couture.
Marion Cotillard in Dior.
P.S. Linking up with Angela, Carrie, Jessica, Lana, Laura, Lauren, Lindsey, Lisa, Nicole, Rachel, Rhea and Whitney.
My favorite looks of the night were Jennifer Lopez's and Anna Faris'. What can I say? I'm a sucker for sparkly tulle!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post, Ada! I didn't watch the show last night so I've only seen a few of these gowns through other media. Lots f beautiful gowns here. I keep seeing one and thinking "that's my favorite!" then scrolling and finding a new one! I would probably want to wear Naomi's dress myself but I do love the gorgeous reds on Rosamund and Dakota, too!

Love J Lo dress
ReplyDeleteP.S. My blog has moved to http://www.amysfashionblog.com/blog-home
some great choices, I love Jennifer Hudsons yellow. JLO's was beautiful but just once I wish she would cover her chest, that dress would be stunning with a different neckline
ReplyDeleteSo many amazing dresses last night! I have to say Emma Stone killed as always!

Upbeat Soles
Love Emma Stone, Naomi Watts and Anna Kendrick. Cate Blanchet's dress is lovely but she looks a bit zombie in it.
ReplyDeleteAlex - Funky Jungle
I am a big Rosamund Pike fan, love that dress. I always think Cate Blanchett looks so elegant too #allaboutyou
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! I totally watch for the dresses!

The Real Arnolds
Kiwi is such a hard color to wear but if anyone can pull it off, it's Emma Stone! My other favorites were Rosamund Pike and Naomi Watts!

Doused In Pink
Even though her style is the polar opposite to mine, I have always had a deep deep love for Jennifer Lopez. She is just flawless. She works so hard and it shows. x

There were a lot of gorgeous gowns this year! I love Anna Kendrick, Dakota Johnson, and Anna Faris!
ReplyDeleteRosamund Pike and Laura Dern looked just beautiful - as did they all. Marrion Cottilard carried off an elegant not overly-showy dress, but oh heavens, what a beautiful woman Jennifer Lopez is! That sumptuous dress was a wonderful example of the dress not wearing the woman, the woman wearing the dress - she shone through, and was enhanced and perfection in it!
ReplyDeletegreat roundup Ada, I knew you'd pull something fab together for the Oscars! Thanks for linking to #AllAboutYou

I don't watch the awards show either, but love seeing all the gorgeous fashion!
ReplyDeleteI loved Reese Witherspoon's classic dress. And I was a fan of Dakota's dress but her hair annoyed me- I felt it was too messy and casual with the elegance of the dress.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dresses!
ReplyDeleteAniston's one is my fav!
Have a nice day.

Ginger Side of Life
My favorite was definitely Anna Kendrick - I just loved that coral with her porcelain skin. I liked the shape of Emma Stone's dress but couldn't get past the color.
