The 6 Remix: Sleeveless Jersey LBD and Festive Plaid Week.

I used to do a 6 Remix (which I started in September of last year) on the 6th of each month. I basically took one item of clothing and remixed/showed 6 different ways to style it or 6 items of clothing (sometimes 5 pieces of clothing and a 1 pair of shoes and sometimes I don't include the shoes) and wore them together creating 6 outfits. But between my two 30 for 30 challenges this year, the "Mom to Work" series I did on and off this year and all the other 2-way Remix Posts, this series took a back-seat. However I am bringing it back this December, during the Holidays and today on the 16th I am kicking off a Week of Plaid Outfits which I am calling Festive Plaid Week.

The 6 Remix: Sleeveless LBD, Winter Edition.
(To make the collage bigger, just click on the picture, to see each outfit side by side.)

For this 6 Remix, I am remixing a Basic in every woman's closet: The Infamous Little Black Dress. Mine is in a light Jersey Cotton, it is Sleeveless with a High-neckline (sort of a Halter Style) and it has the most beautiful detail on the neckline too, a Satin Lattice, Intricate detail. I was able to find some similar options so look at the links, below. Like many of my Little Black Dresses, this one is from White House Black Market, also. So, over the past 3 weeks I have worn this LBD from Work (3 times), to a couple of Holiday Events and even on a casual day for Mom duty. This Easy, Cute, Jersey LBD will be remixed again come Spring next year. It is a lot more versatile than one would think.

Let's look at each outfit in detail. And yes, two of them feature some Plaid. Both Plaid items are new and I was so happy to wear them and blog them.

Work Look #1: Layering a Teal Cardigan and Fur Scarf over the Dress.
I styled this Dress for work 3 times. Here is the first of the three looks. Serving as a Blank Canvas, the Black Dress was remixed with two shades of Green (the Teal Cardigan and my New, Green+Wine Oxfords) and two shades of Gray (the Charcoal, Animal-Print Faux Fur Scarf and the Tweedy Gray Tights). It was a cold day so Thick Tights, a Fur Scarf to bundle up and a Cardigan were necessary. I added some Black-Beaded, Silver-tone Jewelry and I was off to work.
Teal, 3/4-Sleeve, Open-Collared Cardigan w/ Built-in Tie Belt: The Limited (similar w/ belt detail, on sale, love this), (similar, great deal), (long option w/ pockets, best deal, love this).
Olive Green/Gold Rhinestone Bangle (part of a set of Bangles): A Random Boutique (similar by Givenchy, great deal, love this), (set of 3 rhinestone bangles, best deal).
Dark Gray, Tweed, Thick Tights: Express (very similar by Wolford, Splurge), (similar by DKNY, best deal, love these).

Work Look #2: Monochromatic Black with a Turtleneck underneath.
For the second Work Look (worn just 2 days after the first outfit, you see above), I went head to toe Black. I rarely wear head to toe Black Monochrome but I tried it. What I did is layer a Turtleneck underneath the Dress. It helped that the Turtleneck is almost the identical material as the Dress, plus the 2 blacks matched well (it is so hard to match different blacks, I tell you). My Neon Necklace, Red Lipstick and Turquoise Flower Studs are the only little pops of color, here. It ended up being one of my Favorite 3 Looks: Simple yet Put-together.
Black, Thin Jersey-Stretch, Long-Sleeve Turtleneck: Express (very similar by Ralph Lauren, love this), (very similar), (long-sleeve, ribbed option by VS, best deal, love this).
Black, Classic, Plastic "Wayfarer" Sunglasses: Ray Ban (identical), (tortoise version by Ray Ban, love these), (similar by Marc Jacobs, great deal, love these).

Holiday-Related, Daytime Work Event: Layering a Red Buffalo Shirt underneath the Dress.
This is an Outfit for a Holiday Event. It was a Casual, Christmas, Work-related Event I was invited to. There was no dress code for it. So I wore this Dress both to that event and to work, that day. Therefore I wanted to be Comfortable yet still Cute and Pretty Dressy. I finally have a Red Buffalo Plaid Shirt and as soon as I got it, I immediately wanted to try it under a Black Dress. I did end up buying the Shirt a size larger because I want to wear it open over Tops, also. So, under this particular dress, it  scrunches a little on the sleeves (wish it didn't). However, it is still a Cute Look and I will try it under a more loose type LBD. I accessorized with some different shades of Camel: Boots, Belt and Bag. And another Holiday element I added to the mix was my Emerald Green Drop Earrings.
Red+Black, Buffalo Plaid, Long-Sleeve Button Down Shirt: Terranova (New) (very similar, love this), (similar by Old Navy, best deal), (similar pop-over, great deal, love this).
Cognac, Real Leather, Skinny Belt w/ Gold Buckle: c/o a Local Accessories Boutique (very similar by Old Navy, on sale), (very similar, set of 2, great deal, love these), (fun option w/ tassel detail by Wet Seal, best deal, love this).
Light Camel, Faux Leather, Hobo Bag w/ Buckled Double Hand Straps: The Limited (similar by Neiman Marcus, best deal), (fun option w/ tassel, great deal, love this), (gorgeous option by Fossil, on sale, love this).

Mommy Look: Red+Black Layering with a Cheetah Scarf.
This is the most Casual of the 4 looks with these Rain-friendly Boots of mine. Yes, it was worn on a rainy day for out-of-work duty. I like how the Gray Tights match the little Gray Fur part of the Boots. And one can never go wrong with Red+Black so I layered (for warmth+style) a Red Cheetah Scarf over my Red Cardigan. This was worn on Saturday November 29th which is a National Albanian Holiday: Freedom Day. My Country's Colors are Red+Black so I put my Albanian pride on display. Little Vivian joined me for a couple of pictures, that day.
Dark Red 3/4-Sleeve Cardigan w/ Silver Disco-ball Buttons: White House Black Market (very similar by J. Crew), (similar V-neck option, by J.Crew, on sale, love this), (similar, best deal).
Dark Gray, Tweed, Thick Tights: Express (very similar by Wolford, Splurge), (similar by DKNY, best deal, love these).

Work Look #3: Adding a touch of Fair Isle and Belting My Cardigan.
The last of my Work Looks is also one of my 3 Outfits. There is a little Black+White combo going on here. I played with the White Fair Isle part of the Cardigan by wearing an Off-White Bow Headband and a White Bracelet. There is a little print-mixing going on too between the Fair Isle and the small Floral Print on my Belt. And of course the Cognac Belt matches the Cognac Boots quite perfectly, buckle detail and all.
Wide Elastic Belt in a Small Brown Floral Print w/ Cognac Leather Detail: A Local Boutique (New) (option by Lucky brand), (similar by J.Crew, best deal, love this).
Ivory, Grossgrain Ribbon Headband Featuring a Wide, Double-Bow: Forever 21 (very similar, love this), (similar, dressy), (similar from cloth, elastic option, best deal).
Tall Cognac Boots w/ Chunky Heels & Buckle detail on the top of the shaft: Payless (similar, great deal, love these), (gorgeous option by Clarks, Splurge), (similar @ Macy's, come in 3 color options, love these).

And I saved the Best and Most Festive Look for last (of course). This was the most recent time I wore this Dress which is my #1 Favorite Outfit. It was worn for a Dressy, Holiday Wine+Appetizers event I was invited to, for work. I styled it with my Newest Plaid Scarf (not as big as a Blanket Scarf but still pretty big and in a warm wool-blend material). The Red/White Plaid of the Scarf - which I used as a Wrap over my shoulders - is of course Festive. But I also added my Fabulous Magazine-Cover Clutch, Pearl Statement Earrings, Red Peep-Toe Pumps, Red Cocktail Ring and Multi-Colored Crystal Bracelet. And, of course what completes a Classy, Dressy Outfit is some Bold Red Lipstick.
Red/White/Black Plaid, Wool-blend Wide Scarf: Terranova (New) (similar by Madewell, love this), (similar by Joan Rivers, great deal), (similar infinity option, best deal, love this).
Retro-inspired, Magazine Cover, Lucite Clutch w/ Buckle Strap: A Local Accessories Boutique (New) (similar, gorgeous option by Betsey Johnson, love these), (similar w/ bows, by Nina, great deal, love these), (similar, best deal).
Black, Thick, Opaque, Fleece-lined Tights: Random Street Vendor (New) (identical from Topshop, love these), (similar by Steve Madden, best deal), (gorgeous dotted option by The Limited, love these).

Here is another collage of the outfits, close-up. My Favorite 3 Looks are the top middle, bottom left and bottom middle. What are your favorite 2-3 ways I styled my LBD for Winter?
And, since I am linking up with Trend Spin I did a close-up of all 3 pairs of Boots I wore during this remix, since the Trend today is Boots and Booties. Of course for the other 3 Outfits I wore Oxfords twice and Peep-toe Pumps once. I kept my Tights Dark+Neutral with each Outfit because I believe each pair of Shoes/Boots is interesting enough.

I am also passing on my black tights, dress, cardigan and cognac boots (on the 5th Outfit, above) from Whitney's Outfit onto mine so I am linking up with her as well.
