School Girl Red.

As I mentioned a week ago, this Fall I want to take some of my Summery Dresses and style them for the current season, especially since our Fall has been pretty warm and mild. Today I am showing you another Fit+Flare Dress, which is this Nautical-Inspired, Striped, Ponte Dress by H+M.

So, I played off the Red+White of the Dress and layered with a White Button-Down Blouse underneath (the billowy sleeves make it a little retro-looking), a Silky Scarf which I tied into a Bow and my Cranberry Oxford Shoes. I even added Red Lipstick and Red Ear Studs. For a little Pattern-Mixing I have on some Argyle Black Tights which match the Black Beaded Bracelet and Black Rosette Headband. Clearly, I am a huge fan of Black+Red+White as I showed you last week when I styled the Snow Leopard Dress for Fall. This Outfit totally reminds me of a School Girl Uniform. It is Chic yet a little Edgy because of the styling. I felt Feminine and European in it which I think it's a good thing.
Have you tried something on that reminds you of a School Girl Look? I love to see your thoughts and takes on this look.
Red+White Striped, Fit+Flare, Sleeveless Ponte Dress: H&M (New) (very similar, love this), (similar sheath), (similar fit+flare w/ crochet detail, great deal, love this).
Deep Red, Silk+Organza Narrow Scarf w/ Fringe: Borrowed from my Mother in Law (purchased in France) (similar silk scarf by Echo, best deal, love this), (gorgeous option by Brooks Brothers), (red+pink gorgeous option by Kate Spade, love this), (similar, warm scarf w/ fringe, best deal).

Also, once again Marissa and Heidi are doing their bi-yearly Pantone Challenge. Below are the Colors for Fall 2014 (that they selected). My booties and scarf today totally fit Sangria. I will try to link up an outfit this week, every day, for each color. We shall see.
Happy Monday!!

  14. Like both ways you style your dress. Skater skirts always remind me of a school skirt, I decided I was just too old to wear them. No Vivienne today?! Love red, white and black plus those bell sleeves.

  18. Gorgeous dress and blouse! I love the idea of just layering a dress with a shirt underneath and some tights. I am also trying to find ways to transition summer dresses into fall. It is easy here because the weather is pretty warm all year round! It's nice to get a little extra use from seasonal items. I hope you're having a fantastic week!
