Tour Through Blogland.
1) What am I working on?
In real life, today I am wearing my last outfit from my 30 for 30 challenge, which got postponed a couple more days, because some days I spent at home with my daughter and didn't get to wear any of the Outfits, and one day we had a Special Birthday Party to go to, and I opted to wear something different (yes I cheated and I don't feel bad about it lol). So I am working on editing the rest of the photos from the outfits I created during my current 30 for 30. I also have a special post coming up a week from today on Monday September 29th and it's a fun one so stay tuned. I am also working on outfit ideas for Fall and maybe doing a Fall Capsule, nothing big, just choosing about 10-12 pieces of clothes and creating 10-12 Outfits with them. But since I am working part-time now for the next couple of months, I might create just Work-related Outfits. I always have a ton of ideas for the blog, but at the same time I am getting busier and busier each day so I don't know if I can make everything happen. Because, as with everything in life, something's gotta give.
2) How does my work differ from others in it's genre?
This is mostly a Style Blog, but I also give you little updates on my life and my daughter at least monthly or bi-monthly. I have also done a lot of Fun Collaborations with other bloggers whom I like and admire. I started these Fun Collaborations last Summer and have continued with them this year. And this year has definitely been about remixing my closet and wearing the clothes I own as much as possible, trying not to think about shopping, because let's face it I am a huge shopper and I seriously do not need more things tempting me to do so. I do cook quite a bit and I need to show you guys more recipes but I almost always forget to take photos when I am cooking something delicious. The most unique part about this blog is including my daughter in a lot of the Fashion Posts. It is like a "Mommy and Me" Style Blog, but at the same time I always give you little updates on Vivian. So far I have gotten a good response about this and that you enjoy seeing her. It is my style of creating the posts I write. Of course a toddler is hard to cooperate with when it comes to photos (or pretty much anything lol) and now that she is older she doesn't like Mommy snapping pictures of her every day but there are days when I have to capture her beautiful smile and cute outfit. Also, when it comes to my style I believe for it to be a mix between American and European styles. I have lived and spent half of my life in each continent, so both my Albanian roots and American living have influenced My Style, I believe.
Quick Fun Fact about me: I love Dressing Up. Wearing a Pretty Dress, some Heels and a Pretty Lipstick always gets me pumped.
3) Why do I write/create what I do?
I barely watch TV and I don't have a lot of time to read books since becoming a Mom so my blog is my main hobby which is just for me. Sometimes I write while drinking a cup of tea or a smoothie I made, or at times you might find me with a glass of wine in my hand. I enjoy writing here and creating what I do, though I know there is always room for improvement, always. Because such is life. But the thing I enjoy the most out of this whole blogging experience is getting to meet beautiful women from all over the world, who understand this part of me and with whom I have something in common with. At the same time their fashion ideas inspire me and their thoughtful words and comments make me more eager to write and create on my blog.
4) How does my writing/creating process work?
I don't have a clear answer about this one because I almost never schedule posts ahead, therefore I don't plan ahead about what I am going to write. I always write a paragraph or so about the Outfit I am posting and I usually write a little bit about my day or life lately. And yes, sometimes even weather, because let's face it, as a Fashion Blogger, weather affects our clothing choices a lot. I write what I feel of writing then and there. And even-though English is not my first language, I do my best when it comes to grammar, spelling and punctuation. Plus, bad English is a little pet peeve of mine. If the people that stop by decide to read what I am writing, not just see the photos, I might as well show them proper English, right? So, in fewer words, my writing/creating process is all about being in the moment. I do however plan out (usually) the collaboration posts I write.
Now, I am passing along this 'award' to three bloggers I love and admire. Their life-styles and styles couldn't be any more different. But they are all beautiful young women who manage to look chic and stylish every day. If you don't know about them yet, I hope you get to meet them through here. Below is a photo and paragraph they wrote about their blogs. Enjoy!
First is AMBER from Avec Amber.
"Hi, my name is Amber and I am the writer behind Avec Amber. I am a 30-something corporate professional by day, and blogger by night. I started Avec Amber in August 2012 as a way to document and share my personal style and my travels. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, I love my city but also live in a constant state of wanderlust. I am blessed and grateful to be able to travel as much as I do, and have visited fourteen countries outside of the United States and eighteen US states so far (with repeats of my favorites). My style is ever-evolving, but always practical, affordable, and suitable for my globetrotting ways. I would love for you to follow along with my adventures!"
Next is MARIA from Not Fancy, Just Life.
"Hi! I'm Maria and I blog at Not Fancy, Just Life. I started my blog as a general lifestyle blog to document 'real life.' Nothing fancy or fake about it! After a few months it developed into a style blog in which I document everyday work and play outfits. I like saving money as often as I can, so most of my outfits reflect fashion on a budget. You don't have to spend a lot to look your best! Please feel free to drop by my blog and say hello. I love meeting new people in the blogging world!"
Last but not least we have WHITNEY from Whitney a la Mode.
Thank you ladies for agreeing to be part of this Tour.
