About

Oh, hey there. Thank you for stopping by. My name is Ada but it is actually an abbreviation of my full name Adriana. I have been called Ada my entire life though. Very few people call me Adriana.

When I was about three years old, I had to have surgery and have my tonsils removed. On the way to the hospital as I was crying and screaming, my parents bribed me with a new pair of shoes. I remember them very well. They were off-white, patent leather Mary Janes and I loved those pretty and girly shoes. It took a lot of convincing and more crying on my part, for me to take them off, while laying down in my hospital bed. It is the earliest childhood memory that I can recall but very meaningful to this day. I grew up loving shoes. I grew up loving fashion. I started to love dresses and being girly since a very young age. And when I was about 15 or 16 years old I would even borrow a retro dress or two from my mom's closet. She has always had great taste and has amazing style too. She owned some awesome shirt dresses and wrap dresses from the 70s. To this day I love both a good wrap dress and a shirt dress.

My first job as an adult was at the designer women's department at Lord and Taylor. I was a fresh out of high school 18 year old. Lord and Taylor shaped up the elegance in me and made me love and appreciate style even more. It is there where I got my first taste of designer fashions and the first store where I purchased all my dressy and professional work clothes. As a high schooler before I was mostly living in jeans, tees and sweaters. I purchased my very first pencil skirt and my first suit at Lord and Taylor. From that day forward, this love affair with shopping and fashion grew. And it continued to grow more when I discovered fashion blogs in 2009. It was a whole new world to me. One I did not know it ever existed before. In 2010 I joined Blogger myself and started this little blog. But for some reason I was always busy or timing was never right. It wasn't until Spring 2012 that things sort of kicked off. By then, my husband and I had moved back to Europe and were living in the capital of Albania, Tirana. Living in a large city with thousands of people I got to see every day, I was inspired even more. With a new lifestyle and a new job, I decided to give this blogging thing a more serious try so in 2012 I started posting my typical work outfits and some weekend outfits too. Little did I know that my lifestyle and my every day style would change once again that same year, since in the Spring of 2012 my husband and I found out we were expecting our first child. So, then my blog focused on my maternity style.

On January 19th 2013 I welcomed my little girl into this world, my sweet Vivian. Becoming a mom changed my entire life and my perspective on style as well. As a stay-at-home mom with a newborn, comfort was key. I have always loved heels and pumps but I grew to love flats and sneakers even more. Leggings, skinny jeans, booties, sweaters, tees, jackets and scarves all became my best friends. My style changed but in essence I remained true to myself. Colors and patterns which I have adored my entire life were still a big part of my wardrobe. But I started appreciating neutrals and classic stripes more than ever before. Suddenly a necklace or a pair of fun earrings became more important to the way I dressed because these little accessories totally dressed up my jeans uniform.

Now, 4 years later I continue to blog in this same place. My blog mostly focuses on my personal style and on my journey as a mother. I often do Mommy+Me Style posts with my toddler girl Vivian, too. Now, I not only have fun dressing myself and shopping for myself, but I have even more fun dressing Vivian and shopping for her. Little girls' clothes are the cutest! Now I am back to working part-time and I am mostly at home with my daughter so you will see a mix of casual and dressier outfits.

This blog has been a great creative outlet to me. I have had some fun opportunities and a few collaborations with companies along the way. But the best part of it is my readers - several of which I consider friends. The blogging community is filled with beautiful, stylish, sweet and encouraging women. A lot of them are married like I am. A lot of them are moms raising wonderful children. I feel so lucky and blessed to be a part of this community and share my not-so-fancy life, my personal style and my everyday passions with you. Thank you all for reading.
