Thursday Moda #194: Red and Pink Outerwear Layered on a Rainy Winter Day.
Good Morning you all. How was your week so far?! We are only 13 days away from Christmas and just three weeks away from a brand-new year. This week has been cold here, with the exception of Monday when these photos were taken. The highest temperature we hit on Monday was actually 50 degrees, but because it was rainy, windy and gray it didn't feel like it, more like 40. I am one of those people that even-though I like rain half of the time, especially when I am home - rain inspires me, makes me more creative and brings out the nostalgic and romantic poet in me - rain could also put me down and can be daunting if you have to be out and about, driving in it. So what I wear on most rainy days?! BRIGHT CLOTHES, of course! (Ha, that rhymed!) On Monday I went for a very comfortable 100% cotton V-neck sweater and my light bright red puffer coat, both pieces are by Old Navy.
RED AND PINK OUTERWEAR LAYERED ON A RAINY WINTER DAY.
I paired my bright pieces with my high-waisted black skinny jeans (everyone needs a pair of great-fitting black skinny jeans) and added more pink via those mauve perforated suede booties by State 1 from Nordstrom. To keep my head warm and dry I added my Grey Wool Beret with silver grommets (it is by Target). Last but not least I matched my bright puffer red coat to my fun new studs by Loft. The stud earrings are a poinsettia flower and they are so pretty, I have worn them all this week, with all of my outfits. This was a business-casual outfit that took me to work and to school dropoff and pickup for Vivian. By the way, the photos are not the best, I was kind of rushing and took them with my cell-phone. I apologize. The outfit is cute though, no?! Do you wear bright colors or jewel tones on rainy days, too?!
You all really liked my very first blog try-on session last week and thank you for that. I only ended up purchasing two pieces from Gap and I hope to wear them soon and show you. I noticed so many beautiful holiday looks linked with Thursday Moda last week, I especially noticed lots of gorgeous skirts. From what I can tell this year, skirts are very much a holiday wardrobe staple because a lot of you styled them and styled them beautifully! For my features, I absolutely loved the festive pants' outfits, too. Plus lots of red and green as you will see - the ultimate Christmas colors. Thank you to all 80 of you that linked up last week and welcome to join this week's Thursday Moda, too.
You can never go wrong this holiday season, with a 'Polka Dot Tulle Skirt' and Katie knows it. Paired with stunning fuchsia bow flats, a red statement necklace and a bright green sweater, Katie is ready for Christmas, in this look!
Rebecca tried 'New Trousers' paired with a patterned teal blouse which she belted. The red pumps were a beautiful exclamation point to her outfit.
Claire Justine mixed many shades of brown in her 'Autumn Style' with many cozy textures like her sweater tights and faux fur cropped jacket. But that red Minnie Mousse Bag - the cutest!
Not one but '2 Festive Holiday Outfits' were featured in this post that Jill linked. Bows, gold stars, a gorgeous red blouse, a sleek clutch and beautiful heels featuring red-painted toes - how can you go wrong?!
I adored this head to toe green-teal look that my friend Darlene wore. It is the ultimate 'December Party Outfit for the Host' just like she describes it, especially with a glass of wine in her hand.
'Velvet Blazer & Velvet Booties' were the perfect pieces to create a semi-dressy holiday look. Debbie always knows how to style velvet and owns many gorgeous jackets and boots, not just the one she wore today.
Wishing you all a very lovely weekend. I have some plans this weekend that I hope to make happen. Thank you for reading and for joining my linkup, today.

Ah yes! Red and pink outerwear is so fun! I do't have any outerwear in these colors, I only really have one coat in a bright color and that is gold. You look great in these!

A change in weather always makes people to think over the changes in their dresses and wardrobe. And especially during the winter and summer they need a definite change over in their dresses.
