Currently, August 2017.
July flew by guys and we are technically more than half-way through this year. Several schools start back in August and so many stores gave brought out their Fall merchandise already (hello Nordstrom Anniversary Sale). I have also seen (for 3 weeks now) several of you bloggers style your new or old favorite Fall items already. While we have had quite a bit of rain and cool or chilly days these Summer, we have also had plenty of 80+ degree weather and I am sorry but no Fall clothing for this girl. I will probably show you guys the first Fall-inspired outfit sometime after August 15th. I am a style blogger after all, and we have to be ahead of the season. I am sick and tired of people saying Farewell to Summer though. September is mostly Summery too so no Summer ain't over - I refuse to believe so, at least lol.
Once again, I am linking up with ANNE of Anne In Residence and her co-host for today SHEA from Shea Lennon for the monthly Currently linkup. These two mom bloggers are two of my most favorite life-style bloggers who happen to be moms. Their styles are very put-together, attainable and affordable too. Make sure you follow them if you haven't, yet.
snacking (on): coffee right now (with some milk), no cream or sugar. I am trying to drink my coffee without sugar lately, just cream or milk and hope to be able to drink it black, one day.
anticipating: Sunday August 6th when our vacation starts. It cannot come soon enough. Wish I didn't have to work Friday and Saturday but I have things to wrap at work before I am off for ten days. You win some, you lose some. I am also anticipating some alone time with a book or two as I lay on the sand and catch some sun-rays. It is the small things, you guys.
borrowing: my daughter Vivian's "Life is Sweet" sun hat (worn last week here) We can both wear it and I am definitely packing it for our beach vacay.
admiring: all these stay at home mom influencers on Instagram that look like they have their shit together most of the time. One day, I will get there. One day. I am working on it. If you have any tips or advise for me, share away and thank you.
purchasing: a couple of last things from the #NSale but those are most likely the last things I plan to buy for myself until December where I will gift myself a Christmas present or two. I am going on a shopping freeze until then (for me at least). Vivian needs a few Fall and Winter clothes so I will buy a few for her.
And now, let's look back at past outfits I have worn, in the past years since I have blogged, during this time of the year. You will notice from this recap that purple shades like Royal Blue and Fuchsia are totally my jam. Look back at some of my silk dresses here, I have several in my collection. Ohh and I started doing Mommy+Mini posts since Vivian was a tiny baby.

This was such a special post because on August 8th 2012 I shared my big news, that I was pregnant with my first baby. I was already in my second trimester then and I even knew the baby's gender (a sweet little girl) but I decided to keep some of the details to myself. I re-read this post and tears came flowing down. This Loft 100% Silk Chiffon Fuchsia Dress is non-maternity but because it is a little flowy and came with a removable thin sash to cinch in, it was perfect for a growing bump. This is such a pretty dress, I love the fluttery sleeves and especially the braided detail on the neckline. I accessorized it with a Dainty Long Necklace which had multi-colored glass beads and some Silver Leaf Dangly Earrings. I was living in the capital of Albania then and walking a lot so I wore heels very seldom to work or wherever. With this work look I wore some Patterned Cream+Orange Silk (Flat) Sandals.
I cringe (now) at the busy background photos on this post (first pic above), but I was living in a big city and I had just started blogging so I took almost all the pictures inside our tiny apartment then (big city living you all). But I appropriately titled this post "Royal Purple and Summer Blue". I accessorized this pretty Blue-ish Purple 100% Silk Dress by Express with some Turquoise Peep-Toe Flats and that baby that was in my belly a year ago, was now 6 and half months old: chubby and as adorable as can be. Baby Vivian matched mommy in her own Mauve Purple Silk Dress with adorable Baby Pink+White Gingham Ballet Flats. Wish this dress was in my current US closet. The ruffled neckline and trumpet skirt are very much in.
This dress is just stunning you guys. You can dress it up and wear it to a wedding or dress it down like I did here. It is 100% Silk (I see a theme with these throwback looks today: Silk Dresses) and it is knee-length, with a Pleated Skirt, in a Classic V-Neck and Sleeveless. I love the big and bold Red Rose Print. I
dressed it down here with some Green Sandals, Turquoise Circle, Big Plastic Studs, White Pearl Strand Necklace and some Silver Beaded Bracelets. Once again Vivi joined me in this post wearing her own Patterned Floral Fuchsia+White Dress with White Ribbon detail that matched her Cute White Mary Jane Flats.
August of last year was a light month on the blog with only about 15 posts, due to my sister in law visiting USA and us vacationing. But hand-down my favorite dress I shared last August was this Black+White Silky Midi-Style Dress by Who What Wear which I styled with Gold Leather Perforated Wedges and a Bronze Leather Bag. I also accessorized with some Ombre Gold Aviator Ray-Bans and a Long Silver Necklace w/ a Silver Circle Pendant - mixing+matching different metallics together. Simple but oh-so-chic. I wore this to work.
Before I leave, I have a few more favorite outfits from last week's Thursday Moda. There were over 150 outfits linked and so many gorgeous looks. Also, if you haven't yet, my new Thursday Moda linkup is here so you can still join it. And check these ladies out, too:
Cayli shows us 'One Skirt Two Ways' in that beautiful printed midi skirt by Lularoe. With a mixture of colors and layering with a mauve duster cardigan this outfit can be taken from Summer to Fall.
Rachelle found the perfect raw-edge 'White Shorts' and paired them with a girly yellow floral off-the-shoulder blouse. Love her pulled back hairdo.
Alison's dusty pastels of blush pink and heather grey with a 'Turqouise' statement necklace and bow bag are flowing, pretty and light as air.
Valerie DIY-ed her own 'Gingham Cold-Shoulder Top' paired with the trendy Cult Gaia neutral bag and cute blue ghilly sandals, but on her post she switched up her shoes and bag, too.
I have scheduled ahead 2 Style Posts for next week but rather than that things will be slow and a little silent on my blog next week due to me vacationing. I wish and pray that the weather ends up being sunny, warm and beautiful the whole time we are at the beach.
Now, there will be a linkup next Thursday too. I got three of my blogging friends HOSTING THE LINKUP ON THEIR BLOGS so make sure you stop by any of their blogs, show them some love and join the linkup with either Granola & Grace, This Blonde's Shopping Bag or Countdown to Friday. Thank you and Happy Weekend!!
Thanks for the feature!
