Currently, October 2016.
This month's "Currently" post is a little bit later than usually but still here. Hard to believe that tomorrow October days' are already in the double digits. I say this every month but OMG another month went by super fast. October is all about changing the way we dress, just like the season changes the trees and October is for Halloween of course. For you Pumpkin Spice Latte lovers, the air is crisp and cold enough to drink a lot of those, too. Of course, October is the month to honor and be aware of breast cancer and remember those women you may have lost because of it. I plan to do a little pink here and there in some of my outfits, this month. Once again I am linking up with the lovely Anne who hosts these "Currently" monthly linkups, here. Happy October!! What do you have planned for this month?
cheers-ing: that is it officially Fall in here and it is looking like it, too. Fall is my favorite season in Michigan. Bring on the change of the leaves, the yummy coffee drinks (but not PSL), the pumpkins, the Halloween decorations, the cozy sweaters, the layers, the booties, the blanket scarves, all the plaid, apple cider, trips to the local Orchard, the costumes and the Halloween glee that Vivian is loving this year. We spent the day down-town Milford yesterday. It is a cozy village with a beautiful, tiny and quaint down-town with some adorable boutiques and some great restaurants, too. Anyhow, the entire down-town was decorated so much and so beautifully for Fall. I loved seeing all the rustic colors, the hay stacks and the pumpkins. I shared a couple of photos of it on my Instagram, yesterday, like this or that.
organizing: Vivian's closet and drawers, updating it for the Fall/Winter season and putting away her Summer clothes and dresses. How can a 3-year old accumulate so many clothes?
dreaming: that the house will be completely decorated for Fall (little touches her and there) by tomorrow and it will look picture-perfect. I will share pictures of it of course, but here is a sneak peek of the fireplace and mantle area. How do you like it so far?
buying: mostly Fall decorations, a few Summer clothes (on clearance) for Vivian for next year and I picked up a few things from 3 of my favorite brands lately: Loft, What to Wear and The Limited. I cannot wait to wear everything and hopefully photograph and blog all the outfits too.
listening: to "The Bold and The Beautiful" (which is actually a daily soap opera) as I am typing this. I have watched this soap opera on and off since I was about 11 or 12. Some of the stories are ridiculous and far-fetched but I like how 30 years on the air now and some of the characters and actors are the same. I also love that the center of almost every storyline is around a huge Fashion house in LA. A few times a year they show fashion shows on this TV series too so the fashionista in me loves those. It is a daily 30 minute show which doesn't take much of my time but yeah I normally watch it all 'on demand'.
Here is a little throwback to what I was wearing on this date or close date on the blog, the last three years, on the blog. I always think this is a fun way to look into my past self and the way I dressed, for the same season, in the past.

I originally started "The 6 Remix" series on August 2013. I was doing it every other month or so for over a year. Well, October's was one of my favorites. In this post I remixed 3 bottoms and 3 tops with the same pair of Blush Patent Leather Pumps to create 3 early Fall looks. The outfit above though the simplest was my favorite. I loved the head-to-toe black with the Ponte+Faux Leather Skinny Pants, Sleeveless Sweater and a Simple but Fun Circle Pendant Necklace. Outfits like these can be repeated any year, for that matter.
I was living in Albania then and Tirana was still very hot in early October. This is what I wore: Shorts and a Silky One-Shouldered Blouse. I loved how I dressed up these Casual Striped Chambray Shorts with such a Pretty Top, Beaded Silver Wedge Sandals, Dangly Earrings and a Fun Geo Bracelet. Come take a peek at this post to see how little Viv was. This outfit is stylish and still very trendy to wear into 2014. "Radiant Orchid' was Pantone's Color of 2014 and I was clearly wearing a shade of it, in my blouse.
I think this is my favorite outfits of the three throw-back looks, above. I had just picked up this Maroon+Gray Colorblocked light Sweater from Old Navy and this was my first attempt wearing it. I did so simply with dark-wash Navy Flared Jeans and brought out the purple shades of the sweater via my Suede Rose Pumps and the gray of the sweater via the Silver Tote. And I was having a great hair day. I want to wear this outfit this very minute. This statement says it all: I love it.
Which of my previous Fall looks from the last three years is your favorite and why?
P.S. Also, linking up with Ann, Anne with Jenn, Amanda, Angie, Betsy + Katey, Biana, Carly, Carrie, Carrie with Whitney, Caryl, Chanda, Cheryl with Kristin+Megan with Nicole, Claire, Debonita, Erin, Good Random Fun, Grace, Lauren, Leelo, Molly, Patti, Rachel, Rachelle, Regina, Sandy with Kileen, The Blended Blog, Whitney and Zaz.

Hi dear Ada! It's so great catching up with you again too. <3 Love these life updates. I smiled when I read Bold and the Beautiful as I would never think it would still be on TV. I remember watching it as a teenager from time to time(while living overseas) and I liked it because of fashion too :-)) Hope you are enjoying your October lovely. XOXO, Elif

I really like looking back at my past outfit to see how my style evolved over the years. Fall is not my favourite season but I look forward to having some pumpkin spice latte.
