Thursday Moda #10 and Maroon Patterned Bottoms.
Happy Thursday Loves! Hope May is treating you well so far.
Our weather has totally gone Wintery and it got even more so on the day of my birthday (yesterday on May 4th). Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday and brought great thoughts my way. I appreciate it so much. This blogging community is so thoughtful and warm. I almost didn't post today's OOTD photos. They were taken a couple of weeks ago before I got my hair colored, for a day of errands and shopping at the mall with Vivian. Unfortunately I didn't take the pics outside because as soon as I got home it started raining. We have had so much rain lately. I thought April showers were gone, also.
Last week I styled my Mustard Riviera Marisa-cut Cropped Pants from Loft. You all seemed to love that outfit very much. Today I have another pair of Marisa's from Loft. This time I am wearing the Marisa Skinny, Ankle-Length Pants. They have a small floral pattern in dove gray, burgundy/maroon and white. The floral and colors remind me of another pretty Loft find - my poppy dress styled for the Spring Collaboration post. I casually styled them with a Heather Gray Sweatshirt with cut-out crochet shoulders. A couple of months ago I was contacted by a fast-fashion online retailer Newchic which sells many trendy and current modern items for very inexpensive, reasonable prices. This sweatshirt was from them. I won't lie, I thought it looked cuter and better-made on the website than it is in reality. With that said this sweatshirt was only 9 bucks and it is still cute enough for me to wear on super casual mom days. I also received some other pieces from Newchic but I will do a second post next week, styling two more of their pieces and I will give you a thorough review about Newchic. Since we are being transparent, my Red D'Orsday Flats (which I thought looked adorable with the pants I am wearing) are super cute but it was the first time I ended up wearing them and they gave me blisters. I hope it is just an issue of them needing to be worn-in first. Needless to say, I purchased some flip-flops at the mall and switched into them during most of my shopping. And yes, I figured , three pairs of red shoes in a row is not overkill. They are all different after all. Right?! Hope you don't mind, because I am not sorry.
This week's co-host is my friend LORENA from My Everyday Wear. Lorena and I are both styling Patterned Bottoms today. When she sent me the photos I smiled because coincidentally both of our pants are in maroon. Lorena has been there for me since the beginning, 4+ years ago when I started blogging. She is one of my first readers and followers and continues to be so. Lorena is a veteran blogger for 7 years now. She originates from Panama but to me she is a citizen of the world because this stylish professional is very world-traveled. She almost visited me in Albania a couple of years ago, too. I really hope to meet her in real life someday because she is an amazing woman and has been a great friend. Style-wise she always looks polished and super chic by being on a budget and usually shopping her own closet. This girl looks fabulous in white, rocks a pair of regular blue jeans and always looks so hip and fantastic in sunglasses - she has a great collection. Another thing I love about her blog is that she is very transparent about all her purchases and all her closet purges too - which she does monthly. If you don't follow her yet, please do so.

As you can tell from my last 4-5 posts, I cannot stop wearing my Loren Hope "Abba" Merlot Earrings, my Purple Agate "Taylor" Pendant Necklace or my Aqua Margaret Elizabeth Teardrop Cuff. The last box I received from Rocksbox was by far my favorite, I wanted all three pieces. Ultimately I didn't keep any because I was indecisive and I could only afford one but I kept this box for over two weeks (still have it now) and wore those pieces a lot. Here, I mixed the Necklace and Bracelet from Rocksbox with a couple of my own rings and some crystal chandelier earrings. ReplyDeleteI love my NewChic pieces and what a lovely color on you. I agree though, I guess we get what we pay for as my items from Newchic while cute and fit good do seem to feel alittle cheap. I am glad you had a good Birthday.

Eeep! I am SO HONORED to be your featured blogger! You are absolutely the sweetest. I really loved last week's mustard pants, but I think these maroon pattered ones are even better! And you should never be sorry about wearing too many red shoes! I'm just sorry they gave you blisters. Try picking up some moleskin, that should do the trick!
