Budget Babes: Summer Trends - The Gladiator Sandal and The Recap.
If you have stopped by my blog this week, you know that Beautiful Maria from Not Fancy, Just Life and I paired up to bring you a week worth of Chic Outfits that costed under 75 bucks, featuring Summer's Biggest Trends such as the Maxi, the Statement Necklace, the Graphic Tee, the Midi and wrapping up our week today with the Gladiator Sandals. For our Finale we both have on such Cute, Colorful Outfits. We are both wearing Beautiful, Bright Summer Dresses paired with our Gladiators, of course. We stayed true to our Styles yet managed to show you some of this Summer's Biggest Trends keeping our looks under $75.00, because dressing nice and staying stylish doesn't have to cost a fortune. =)
My Gladiator Sandals were purchased in the Summer of 2012 for 18 bucks. I wore them a ton that Summer. It was the year I was pregnant and they were so comfortable. Then next Spring I saw Steve Madden, Aldo, Charles David, Nine West, Franco Sarto etc. come up with either similar or identical pairs. Mine were purchased in Europe though and they are from an Italian brand. The black part is 100% Genuine Leather so I definitely benefited from the sale. But the truth is my Dress was not under 20 bucks. It costed $27.00 (original price was $70.00). It is the Bisou Bisou brand sold at JC Penney's which I love. I own a few of this designer's Dresses. This one is a Comfortable Jersey and it is quite Dressy. I have actually worn it to an an Outdoors Wedding ceremony 3 Summers ago. It is this Bright Pink with Beautiful Silver Crystal Embellishment on the Shoulders. I wanted to let the Dress and the Sandals speak for themselves so I went simple with Light Pink Glossy Lips, Pink Stud Earrings, a Glass Beaded Bracelet and just put my hair in a Ponytail with my Pink/White Dot Pony Holder. The cost of all the Accessories together is around $24.00. This brings the total of my Outfit to $69.00. What do you think? Do you own a Bright Pink Dress for Summer? And have you gotten yourself a pair of Gladiators yet?
Maria's New Gladiator Sandals are Coral (which is a perfect Summer Color) and match her Earrings. She color-blocked the look with a Pretty Teal Dress.
Hot Pink, Cap-Sleeve, Empire-Waist Dress w/ Flowy Skirt & Silver Crystal Shoulder Embellishments: Bisou Bisou (JC Penney's) (very similar), (similar cap-sleeve body-con dress, best deal), (similar sheath, gorgeous option by Tahari, great deal).
Circle Pink Crystal Stud Earrings: White House Black Market (very similar, love these), (similar, gorgeous Kate Spade option), (similar, best deal, love these).
Yellow, Green, Orange & Clear, Glass-Beaded Stretchy Bracelet: Beadz & Bagz (similar, great deal, love this), (similar, w/charms, on sale, love this).
Pink Bow Hair Tie w/ White Polka Dots: Random Street Vendor (New).
Black & Silver, Gladiator, Strappy Sandals: Il Cammini (similar, best deal, love these), (similar, great deal, love these), (similar thong sandals).
And for a little recap, here are my Most Favorite Looks we featured this week out of all 10 of them. No surprise here since I love Dresses, Skirts, Bright Colors and Prints. Maria's Dresses were just so pretty. =) Maria was able to keep her outfits under a smaller total price than me, but in my defense I wore lots of Jewelry, such as Statement Necklaces 3 times. It was a great challenge and I am up for it, each season.
Left to Right: 1. Maria's Midi Dress,, 2, My Statement Necklace, 3. Maria's Maxi Dress, 4. My Midi Skirt.

Yes, gladiator sandals are so, so popular this summer! I bought a pair from Charming Charlie and they are so comfy and in a neutral color, which is great with everything. I love how Maria has a pair of coral gladiators, I think I'd love them in a bright color! I love yours, too as they look like they'd go with almost anything! I love how you both have on such colorful summer dresses! Such a neat series, I so need to be more budget savvy!
