Week's Best Dressed: June 23rd 2013, part 1 - DRESSY.

Happy Sunday-almost-Monday. It was Election Day in Albania this Sunday the 23rd of June, and in 3 decades this is the first time I get to vote in my Home Country, something I have done 3 times already in the States. It was a New Experience for me.

I am doing things a little different this week. This is part one of Week's Best Looks where I am featuring Dressy Looks and by Mid-Week I will have the Casual Looks. I think this makes things easier for me to post (since this is a very time-consuming post) and for you to read (not as overwhelming). When people thing of Dressy, they usually think of Cocktail Wear, Little Black Dresses, a Businessy Work Look, Wedding Attire or such. But I think 'Dressy' is missunderstood. A pair of heels can dress up Shorts, Crops, a Denim Skirt, even Sweats. Even a material like Silk or Chiffon, Tulle or Lace can be Dressy, pretty much always. This reminds me of a Special Bachelorette Party for one of My Best Friends 4 years ago. Myself and her Cousin who shared Maid of Honor duties, were also in charge of the Bachelorette Party. I came up with a Pajamas-themed Party. The idea was to wear our Pajamas or Sleepwear out to the Club and then continue the sleepover at the Bride's Place. There were a dozen of us & the ladies totally sexified their Pajamas, Boxers, Sweat Pants, Negliges & other Sleepwear, making them Dressy & perfect for the Bar. I wore a Silk Pajama Boxers' Set with Silver Stilettos, Silver Woven Belt, Colorful Gemstone, Long, Statement Earrings & a Bright Orange Clutch.

So Dressy doesn't just mean an LBD, Pencil Skirt, Classic Sheath, Business Suit or Silk Dress. This week's Lovely Ladies show us that, too. We have Maxi Dresses & Skirts as well as Knee-Length, Hi-lo, Midi or Mini Dresses+Skirts. But we also have Crops and Shorts that the Ladies dressed up, 5 pairs of Shorts actually, including a pair of Denim ones. The Ladies have Dressed up their Chambray Shirts (there are 3 in the mix) as well as Plaid, Gingham or Camouflage. There are a few Date Night Looks in the mix where the ladies are wearing Pretty Dresses. We have one Girl in 2 Fabulous, Dressy Skirts which she thrifted, looking Amazing in both. We also have a couple of ladies Styling Gorgeous Dresses for something they would wear to a Summer Wedding (one in Canada, the other in Germany). The ladies Dressed up their attires with Beautiful Clutches, Lush Leather Bags, Long Necklaces, Statement Necklaces, Classic Sunglasses, Gold Belts, Gold Bangles, Fun Earrings and (not 1 but 3 Neutral in the mix) Floppy, Summer Hats. Most of the Shoes for these Dressy Looks were Leather Wedges, Nude Pumps or Sandals, Color-blocked Shoes, Dressy Flat Sandals, Black Strappy Heels and the Popular Zara Stilettos which we see in Black & Color-blocked version (3 times). Popular Colors would be Navy, Kelly Green, Lemon Yellow, Neon Yellow & Hot Pink, for today's post.

In this first part of "Week's Best Looks" there are 8 New faces in the mix with some Classic names like Laura, April, Amber, Faith and Kate. We even have an Alicia, an Alissa & an Alice in the mix. My Own Favorite Look from this past week it's definitely a Casual piece that I dressed up. Stay tuned for part 2 where I will showcase the one Fashionista who had Great Outfits all week. Thank you for reading and if your outfit is featured here, be kind and let your own readers in the know, by linking back to my blog, in this post. Thanks.

From Left to Right, Top to Bottom.
Nikki is making me Green with Envy wearing this Pretty, Kelly Green Dress in a Casual material, but which she dressed up with Nude Wedges, a Gorgeous Coral Clutch, a Floppy Hat & an Arm Party. Love the cut-out Shoulder detail.
Lauren pairs Slim Black Shorts with an Ivory, Blousy Top, a Red Blazer, Gold Bangles & Leopard Pumps, adding a Rich, Black Leather Bag by Marc Jacobs.
April's Comfortable, Cotton Dress is in a Lavish Purple, it ruches & gathers at the right places playing with her Curves. She paired it with Stunning, Lace-up Wedges, an Envelope Clutch, Long Fringe Necklace & lots of Bracelets.
Margo mixes Stripes & Camo to Perfection wearing this Girly Madewell Dress with an Edgy, Tough Camo Jacket, adding a Bright Pink Clutch & those Popular, Closed-Back Zara Stilettos in Black.
Danielle is in a Mod Mood in this Color-blocked Dress in Aqua, Coral & White. I love the Zipper detail. Her Nude Pumps and half-down hair was a good choice for this Look.
Faith's Hot Pink Dress has the Marilyn Monroe effect. She pairs it with the Color-blocked Red+Pink Zara Stilettos. Faith is one Vivacious Lady head to toe.
Alissa's 1st Outfit features a Gorgeous Poppies/Roses Silk Skirt which she thrifted (and I also own it) paired with a Pastel, Ruffled Cami, an Oversize Camel Clutch & Nude Pumps.
Alissa's 2nd Outfit features another thrifted Skirt; this one a Black, Sequined, Pencil Style. She tucked in a Black+White Gingham, added a Gorgeous, Black, Paisley Clutch & bottomed it off with some adorable Cone Heel, Patent Leather Sandals (also thrifted).
Bethany tried the Skater Skirt and paired it with a Sky Blue, Plaid Button-down. She finished with Black, Peep-toe Heels, a Raspberry Red Purse & Classic Shades.
Kate feels Good & looks Feminine in this Navy, Hi-lo Dress from The Limited, that she wore for her 2nd Anniversary Dinner. Love that she wore Flat Sandals. Yet the Gold Belt & Long Necklace keep it Dressy enough.
Adrienne felt Spontaneous & decided to wear this Gorgeous, Floral, Wrap-Style Linen Dress on a Weeknight Date. She paired it with Black Nine West Sandals, Pink Clutch & brushed her Hair off one side.
Joanna's  Hi-lo, Chevron, Green/Navy Dress with that Retro Headband is perfect for a "Midsummer Night" themed Party. The Dress has a Fun cut-out Back making it even more Special.
Janise is in Hot Pink Head to toe, also for a little date. Her Dress & Heels are Darling. She added a Black Fold-over Clutch & Black Bubble Necklace to accessorize with.
Laura wears a Small Floral-Print Blouse featuring Sheer Black Sleeves with Crisp, Aqua Shorts by Forever 21. She keeps things Ladylike with a Retro Purse, Beautiful Black Wedges & a Floppy Hat.
Alexandra started the week pairing a Cobalt Pencil Skirt with a Girly Black Camisole. She added her Gorgeous Black Wedges, a Black Envelope Clutch, Black Ray Bans & a Dainty Little Necklace.
Latisha pairs her Ankle-length, Fuchsia Maxi Skirt with a Floral Tee looking Very Girly. She is another one to don a Neutral, Floppy, Summer Hat, this week.
Jenny shows us what she would wear to a Wedding in Canada. Her Asymmetric, Ruched, Violet Dress is Sexy, Chic & Elegant. Loving it paired with the Wide, Studded-Square Black Belt, Black Stilettos & Black, Leather Clutch.
Amber shows us her Southwestern Style in a Scalloped-Hem, Black Mini with a Chambray Shirt, Colorful Gemstone Necklace & the Zara Heels in Tan, Orange + Black.
Carylee's 1st Outfit is an Orange, Black+White Dress in an Artsy, Floral Print featuring a Tulip Style Skirt. She layered a Chambray tied over it & wore some Beautiful Rose-Nude Wedges plus her Perfect Sock Bun.
Carylee's 2nd Outfit is a Black Lace Dress with Red Roses by Free People, that she paired it with Stunning Wedges in Navy, Cognac, Red & Black. She let the Dress be the Main Attraction & added just a Bracelet.
Lynzy is one Gorgeous Mom-to-Be in a Nude-Blush Tulle Skirt inside which she tucked a Sleeveless Chambray & then added Strappy Sandals in the same Color as the Skirt. Her Colorful Gemstone Necklace & Crystal Bracelet are Beautiful.
Sara got Creative & turned a Beautiful Tie-Dye Blue Scarf into a Chic, Edgy & Fun, Ruched Mini Skirt. She wore a Simple Gray Tee, Baby Blue Clutch & Neon Yellow Necklace plus Heels, looking Fabulous!
Rachel's Stripped, Black+White Maxi Skirt is Simple & Casual but paired with a Darling Cherry Red, Ruffled Blouse & Colorful, Dangly, Statement Earrings it's definitely Dressed Up.
Ashley wore the Popular, White, Asymettric Skort by Zara with White Zara Heels & a Lemon Camisole. Her Side Braid & Long Fringe Necklace add more Oomph.
Alicia is calling this Watercolor Zebra, Halter Maxi a "Daytime Glamour" Look. While it certainly is that, it can double as a Wedding Attire Dress for an Outdoors Afternoon Event. The Coral Belt & Orange, Quilted, Crossbody, Chain-Strap Bag soften it up, more.
El is Classy & Fabulous (just like the name of her blog) in this White Mini Skirt paired with the Softest Blue Blouse. The Nude Bag & Stilettos are Perfect for this Pastel Look.
Tiffany paired Turquoise+Black for an Elegant Work Look. Love the Print of her Crops & the Silky Top. Her Black Cone-Heel Sandals are Great.
Kimberly dressed up Distressed Jean Shorts with a Pretty, Bird-Print Blouse, a Stripped, Collarless Blazer, Beautiful Color-blocked Heels & a Red Leather Purse.
Ashton pairs a Work Staple such as the Pencil Skirt (hers is Cognac) with a Lemon Neon Blouse. Animal-Print Thick Heels, Brown Ray Bans, Nude Leather J Crew Bag, Gold Watch & Mint/Gold Statement Necklace are the Elegant Accessories she wore them with.
Christina wears her Dressy, Blue-Patterned Shorts with a Lace Navy Top she lets untucked, Yellow Cross-body Purse with Matching Nail Polish & Beautiful Cognac+Nude Sandals with High Heels.
Alice has on a Bright Green, Midi Dress with a Subtle Leaf Print paired with a Paisley Blazer for some Pattern-Mixing. She added Colorful Bangles, Mint Briolette Necklace, Cognac Belt  Matching Sandals.

This Week's Best Outfit/Most Favorite Look in the Dressy Category is ANI of Fleurani.
Ani shows us how to look like a Million Bucks as a Wedding Guest wearing this Lovely, Jewel-Encrusted Halter Gown. The Dress looks like a Watercolor Pastel from first look, while it certainly has that effect, it also has a slight Chevron Print. It features a built-in Bejeweled Collar & Belt (in an Empire Waist Style) letting the bottom part flow into an Elegant, Girly Skirt. She paired it with a Color-block Clutch in Taupe, Coral, Black+White, a Turquoise, Flower, Cocktail Ring, Red Nail Polish & Simple Pearl Studs. Love her hair style as half up and half down. This Beautiful Dress by ASOS was worn on a special post that Ani collaborated with 2 other Fashionable Ladies to show us what to wear as a Wedding Guest (hers being in Germany). Simply Stunning!!

My Own Favorite Look of the Week.

Of course I had to choose this Floral Romper not just because of the Fun Colors & the Ruffle, but because this is definitely a Casual Cotton piece which I made Dressy paired with the Ruffle, Silk Shantung Wedges, Sparkly Gold + Multi-Colored Bangles & Girly, Coral, Bow Headband. This can totally work for a Bar also, during a Summer night.

P.S. Linking up with CHRISTINA, CARISSA, SAMI and LOGAN.
