Thursday Moda #213: Mommy-Daughter Style - Orange Striped Dresses and Gold Sandals.
I always love doing Mommy-Daughter Style posts here on the blog, especially if they feature similar outfits worn by me and my little girl, Vivian. I just love coordinating and matching with my daughter, even-though I am 40 years old. She is still young and at just 7 years old she loves matching mommy or coordinating with her (me), so I will take these days, months and years as long as they last. Let's not forget, our kids are only little for a really short time. I will blink and she will be a tween, we will fight and then she will have her teenage years - which I am not looking forward to.
MOMMY-DAUGHTER STYLE - ORANGE STRIPED DRESSES AND GOLD SANDALS.
We wore these outfits yesterday, when the temperatures reached a high of 90 degrees and putting our feet in the lake was a great idea, for a long cool splash. My light orange+white striped dress is 100% linen and it is one of those fit+flare spaghetti-strap dresses that have been an Old Navy staple for the past 6 years or so. I have had this since 2018, I am in a size Small. I own a lot of them. Vivian's adorable off-the-shoulder ruffled neckline dress featured a variety of orange stripes with pops of aqua. It is by the Genuine Kids line at Target, she is in a size 5T (cause she is tiny). We paired our dresses with matching gold sandals, both by Target, and similar summer-colored sunglasses: mine are in a pretty shade of yellow by Loft, Vivian's are a coral-orange with aqua by Cat+Jack via Target - they match her dress perfectly. We enjoyed a gorgeous day outside with a lot of walking, cooling off by the lake and a little foodie treat: yummy strawberry lemonade and some fries from Wendy's. Before we were leaving, one of Vivian's little friends came to the park by this lake with her parents and of course Viv had to stay an extra 10 minutes. By the way this is Walled Lake in Michigan. All in all we had a great Tuesday despite the heat, it was a little breezy by the water so the wind provided some freshness and coolness. I am glad we had a great mother+daughter date that felt kind of normal, except the bathrooms were locked (due to COVID-19 perhaps?!) Have you been doing any normal things, lately?! What stage of opening is your state at?! BTW, I am letting the linkup go LIVE a day early, so you can join it below... and thank you!
Thank you to everyone who linked up last week. The looks I am favoring this week are dark-colored clothes styled elegantly for Spring. I love all these backgrounds below, too. There are some gorgeous hot pink shoes in the mix and also a couple of May ladies, celebrating birthdays just like me. Stop by and see their posts. =)
A 'Satin Midi Skirt + Suede Moto Jacket' I cannot say it's a look I have ever tried. But Amber killed it, looking so sophisticated and professional, complete with a leather oversized envelope black clutch and the prettiest bow nude pumps.
Darlene looks polished in her jeans, showing us 'How to Style a Blazer for Summer' and hers is light and in a pretty soft gray shade. Love that she belted it!
Happy Birthday to my friend Shelbee celebrating this Saturday on May 30th. She got you covered on 'What to Wear to a Spring Birthday Party' pairing a beautiful floral dress with gorgeous patterned fishnets. I too wore a floral dress this year for my early May birthday and her beautiful shoot carrying all the balloons reminds me of my own birthday shoot.
Gail styled a 'Star Patterned Dress Two Ways' and while it looked super cute with her sneakers too, I adored it with the hot pink low-heel sandals and matching crossbody.
Last but not least another stylish birthday mama. Happy Birthday Claire - looking chic in a black jumpsuit - and thank you for sharing '10 Tips to Get your Wardrobe Ready for Summer'
You are both so cute in your matching striped dresses! All the public toilets are closed here too - too much of a risk having them open if they can't be cleaned regularly. So we have only had short times at the parks or for picnics so far, haha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link up!
Hope you are having a great week :)
Away From Blue

Love both of your dresses! Sometimes the boys try to match me with camo pants but not the same as having a little girl!

I love how close you and Vivian are, Ada! I'm sure that when she is a teenager you will still have a close relationship, not fighting at all. =) Thank you for featuring my outfit in your favorites from last week's linkup - that means a lot and I appreciate you!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great week so far!

Thanks so much, sweet Ada, for featuring my photo along with the other amazing ladies! What a nice surprise! You and Vivien look adorable in those cute sundresses. I see a future fashion blogger in your little one! Yes, time does fly. I can't believe my son is an adult at 28, but every phase has been amazing, as you say. I also can't believe you had 90 degree weather--in Michigan in May!! Yikes! I don't remember that ever happening in the many years I lived there!
ReplyDeleteYou both look lovely in your summer dresses :) Thanks so much for featuring me :)
