Thursday Moda #157: Preppy. Patterned. Penny Loafers.
Welcome to the very first Thursday Moda of March!! How is it March already?! Worse yet, how is the first week of March gone?! And this first week of March has been super cold here. But it is supposed to get warm by Saturday and Sunday. Our temps have been as cold as 8 to 15 degrees in the morning but they have said with the windchill it feels as negative 2 or 3. This is 20 degrees less than what the temps are usually at this time of year, here in Michigan. But, we are Springing Forward this Sunday, which means the clocks go one hour ahead so the days will feel longer!
PREPPY, PATTERNED, PENNY LOAFERS.
Preppy, Patterned, Penny Loafers. Don't you love the alliteration in the title?! Indeed this outfit is both preppy and patterned and I am wearing a pair of penny loafers. It very much makes for a great office look, especially since I layered a Collared, Button-Down Blouse underneath my sweater. And of course I have on Dressy, Black, Jacquard Cropped Pants (they are by White House Black Market and here is a very similar current pair) and these pants make for great work pants. But in reality I wore this outfit a few weeks ago (on a Sunday) on a night we spent at the circus. That's right, my family and I went to see the Detroit Shine Circus where we had a lot of fun. The gymnasts and aerial arts were Vivian and I's favorite performances. The dressed-in-red bears were very cute too. Between the Fair Aisle Sweater, Collared Shirt underneath and the Ankle Pants I definitely have the preppy down! And if you can count my patterns: the jacquard pants, the fair aisle pattern of the sweater and that Geometric Clover-like Pattern on the Shirt - that is indeed 3 different patterns. Speaking of clovers, I have on two different green-toned beaded bracelets. And my earrings are Long Dangly Crystal Statement Earrings in an ombre pink/mauve/red/burgundy color. They matched my sweater perfectly. As far as makeup goes, it is a clean makeup look with a smoky eye, blush and a coral lipstick/lipgloss combo. And with the exception of the jewelry, my sweater, shirt and those Gorgeous Gold Penny Loafers are by Target. What do you think of this Preppy, Patterned Look?! Would you wear it to work?! Do you own a pair of Penny Loafers too?!
Thank you for loving my Neutral Sporty Winter outfit last week. Like it is in real life, that light pink puffer coat was a hit with you all! Thanks. I happened to love some dresses you all linked last week. They inspire me to start rotating dresses into my outfits soon, as days get longer, Spring comes along and the weather warms up! Great dresses and great tights too!
My friend Lorena wore 'Complimented Items' in complimentary colors. Love the longer burnt orange cardigan over that gorgeous maxi dress. Brings out all the rust and brown shades in her dress!
Like Ruth, I love 'Tights for Winter' especially in fun patterns and designs, like hers. They lift up a simple, neutral sheath too. But Ruth's shoulders, bow bag and laceup peep-toe booties all make a statement, also.
Jessica showed '3 Ways to Style a Shirtdress' and first of all how amazing and reasonable is that striped green midi shirtdress! Perfect for March. I loved all of her outfits, in particular this one with the rolled up white jeans.
In the 'Parker Dress' Jennifer has fun asymmetric ruffles and a modern leopard print going on in her pretty dress. Love the monochromatic head to toe look!

ReplyDeleteI haven't really done preppy. I should try and see how it would look on me. I love your loafers. Chic and beautiful! Is it that time of the year already to spring forward?! Where does the time go Ada?

Love the preppy, pattern look. Is it warming up there? We are!!!!! We are loving the outdoor weather here in Saskatchewan, finally. Anyway, my girls enjoy the ariel silks and acrobats as well. Has Vivian watched the Greatest Showman? I think she is probably honestly too young for it, as it's not a cartoon, but in a couple of years, like when she is 8, she would probably really enjoy it.
