Thursday Moda #128: Patterned Maxi Skirts for Summer.
So today I had planned to blog a Maxi Dress for you all, the one I wore last Sunday to be exact and my co-host Yaudy was going to do the same. But neither our weather, nor our timing cooperated. I wasn't happy with the few photos I got since the sky was overcast and Yaudy's weather was rainy. Well, you get a maxi nevertheless because we are styling some Beautiful Patterned Maxi Skirts instead. And don't let stores, Instagram and magazines fool you with all the Fall stuff and styles they are shoving our way, we still have a good 4-5 weeks of Summer left and I plan to make the most of it. So, without further adieu join me and my lovely co-host YAUDY from Yaudy's Style as we style Patterned Maxi Skirts for Summer. And we both had tank tops in mind as you can tell but hers is an everyday white tank while mine is a fancy, dressy, Mesh/Tulle Black Tank with an Oversized Rose off the side. Yaudy's Look is more Daytime Casual while mine is more Evening Casual. But full discretion: my outfit was worn a year ago, in July 2017 to be exact (and never posted). I even took adorable cellphone pics downtown Milford where Vivian and I went that evening but I have had a new phone since January. Oh and I have lost 11 lbs. since then so pardon the belly fat you all! My hair was different then too, can you see all the shades of it with all my red and chocolate highlights. Heck, my life has changed a lot since a year ago and so has my porch and driveway. But yeah this outfit is from last year but make no mistake I still own all these pieces and have worn all of them this Summer, too.
A PATTERNED CHIFFON MAXI SKIRT FOR SUMMER.
So, true story this Gorgeous Navy Floral Skirt with the Pastel Peonies in Lavender, Mellow Yellow and Gray I have had in my closet for close to a decade. Actually, I own about 4 or 5 Patterned Maxi Skirts and all are at least a decade old. I have two more that are a 100% Silk Chiffon like this one. This is so well made, lined and I love the two tiers. Makes it more fancy and girly. It is by Ann Taylor. As always they have beautiful and very well-made skirts and dresses. The Tulle See-Through Black Tank Top is also vintage from The Limited. I love that Stunning Rose on it and it definitely emphasizes my curves and I don't mind. The Taupe Laceup Wedges by Target were purchased in Spring of 2017 and have become some of my most-worn and favorite Summer sandals. Little Vivian is coordinated with mommy in her Navy Boat Patterned + Pink Striped Dress and her own Faux Suede Nude Sandals with Fringe. I apologize again for some of these photos not being the best but I do love how these outfits turned out as I try to dress up a little every time Vivian and I go out. What do you think?! Do you own a Patterned or Floral Maxi Skirt and have you worn it this Summer?!
First of all, I love Yaudy's Maxi Skirt. The Pattern reminds me of both the Western World as well as the Greek Islands and just Summer in general. The colors are beautiful too and pair so well with a Simple White Tank. But her Woven Tote is so stunning and that Spiky Necklace dresses up the whole thing! Yaudy's style is feminine, colorful and always put-together whether wearing a casual outfit like this or her fun and sharp office wear.
Last week you loved, loved, loved my Little White Polka Dot Dress and my "Red" Bag but actually correction - the Crossbody Bag is a Bright Orange Color. And I loved your looks. Featured, we have a few Blonde Bombshells (if we can 'categorize' them by their hair color). Actually, Fonda linked several looks and I almost chose her Gingham Skirt as my fave but then the pattern-mixing won me over. And look at those Gorgeous Wide-Legged Pants and all the splashes of red. Love love the Fun Shoes from last week, too.
My friend Kellyann indeed has 'Ageless Style' because her outfit is classic and classy, modern and on trend. A fantastic white-on-white look featuring fabulous boot-cut white jeans.
Fonda -- I adore a perfectly mixed+matched outfit and you did just that 'From Desk to Date Night'. The fun black+dotted skirt looks beautiful with the graphic flower halter top. And yout red accessories were perfect!
Always showing her fabulous gams, Ashley wore 'Gingham Shorts' in that of-the-moment paper-bag style. Love love love her heeled slides which are also in a black+white pattern.
Laurie's post also showcased the nicest midi-length shirtdress but I was enamored with this culotte-pant red jumpsuit. Laurie's 'July' was stylish for sure.
This week's Thursday Moda Co-Host: Yaudy's Style.
I have followed Yaudy for a couple of years now and we recently reconnected on Instagram and I immediately asked her to co-host this week. I love her style because it is very similar to mine. We both love color, bold pieces and statement looks. As a matter of fact I own that same short rainbow-striped dress from the collage below. These are just a few of my favorite outfits she has worn lately. Love that fun button-front LWD.
From Yaudy's Mouth:
"Yaudy's Syle is a site dedicated to the everyday working woman. I am a bargain shopper, so staying on budget is always a must. Also, my blog is a place where you can learn how to shop your own closet, and how to transition your work clothes into the weekend. I can be found on Instagram and Pinterest."
