Thursday Moda #118: Easy Breezy Summer Outfit.
Hi guys. It has been cool here for about a week now. We had a week of temperatures between the 80s and 90s and then it dropped to below 60s and we had to add our blankets or comforters back on. A thin sheet won't do. Of course the week that it was HOT AF our air conditioner broke on us (thankfully we have fan light fixtures and another plug-in fan). As soon as the service guy came to fix our AC (it took a few days cause they are swamped with work), the next day is when the cool temps started. And after the super long and gloomy Winter we had, I would love some warm and sunny weather. It doesn't have to be 90 degrees - I don't like it that hot lol - but I will take 70 to 85 degrees.
EASY BREEZY SUMMER OUTFIT.
This easy breezy Summer Outfit is from last Friday. Ran some errands, went to the library and for frozen yogurt with Vivian and came back home. I always love White Jeans for the Summer and the slight distressing on this is perfect. They are not see-through either. I also happen to love white paired with blue - any shade of blue - for the Summer. It is such a breezy, cool, refreshing duo of colors for the warm season. This tissue-thin small-scale Gingham Peplum Camisole is from Old Navy from a couple years ago. They had the best peplum tops that year. I have purposedly avoided Old Navy for months now because I know I could be spending some $$$ there and I have none to spend lol. But I love their camis, tanks, shorts and their cami-style dresses they have had for 3 years now. I paired these pieces with my Dark Olive Faux Suede Braided Ghilly Block-Heel Sandals, purchased last year at Target. They are slightly high like 3.5 inches but comfy. Now that Vivian is not as young and there isn't as much chasing to do, I can do heels and tall wedges more often lol. I added my Gold Mirrored Aviator-like Sunglasses - I always get so any compliments on (they are from Charming Charlie) and my Simple Square Crystal Drop Earrings by Loft, with minimal makeup and I was good to go. None of my pieces are new but still all very fresh and in style for Summer 2018. What do you think of this look?! What are some of your outfit formulas for Easy Breezy Summer Outfits?! Tell me in the comments, thank you.
What would make this outfit perfect for 4th of July is a pair of red sandals, red wedges or red sneakers if you own some, instead of the olive green pair I own. Or you can opt for a red crossbody bag, red little backpack or red clutch.
On the 117th Thursday Moda Linkup there were over 80 outfits linked. So many prettyyyy looks, too. I always have a hard time selecting favorites. This time around I noticed a lot of pink, teal, blues and turquoise which makes sense cause they are all Summery Colors. So many gorgeous dresses too and a lot of gingham! I also noticed the gorgeous circle handbags that are so IN this Summer and I want one of my own!
Today's Featured Blogger is the Fabulous DAWN LUCY of Fashion Should Be Fun who I have been following for about 3 years now. She runs a very successful blog and Instagram and has her own successful Friday Linkup. She styles the most unique pants and jeans like she did in both of these posts too, with her Striped Palazzo Pants and those fun Bourdeaux Mules and the Unique Ruffled-Hem Cropped Jeans paired with super comfortable Dansko Gold Sandals. Love her fun sit-down poses too. This 50+ lady is a babe who knows how to dress. She wears a lot of A-line and Pretty Midi Dresses too. Her blog is definitely a fashion inspiration.
Brooke who is the most lovely petite mama shows us that 'If the Dress Fits' you should buy it and wear it, especially when it is in a fabulous style and classic print like gingham. Her Nude Wedges and Neutral Round Straw Bag are the cutest and she shines in this outfit!
Fonda showed us four ways to style her classic 'Striped Dress', but I especially loved it with her sneakers, denim jacket and that bright yellow crossbody bag which I love.
My beautiful, freshly 50-year old friend Kellyann styled a few pieces she picked up ' At the Nordstrom Sale' but I just loved her fuchsia dress paired with the longer gorgeous floral kimono.
Probably the most featured fashionista in my Thursday Moda is Katie. This time around she is wearing a 'Pineapple Party' in her midi skirt. Love her bag and heeled sandals, too.
Leave it to Debbie to always know how to style prints, kimono and lace. This bohemian lady is in a 'Mixed Print Dress' with her lacy kimono over it and booties.
Really lovely Summer look! The top is cute and perfect for Summer, you look beautiful!
